My newest experiment!
A nice Kingdom Hearts wllpaper - but it seems a little crowded

What do you think?

01-20-2004, 10:00 PM
It is slightly crowded, but it's the bright light in the middle that bothers me more. I keep trying to pay attention to the characters (which are hilarious!), but my eyes keep going back to the bright light in the middle. Maybe place the light behind someone? Put it behind Sora or another character. The characters look really spread out.

Instead of the wheel things in the background, try some fish or other ocean animals. The blue thing in the middle reminds me of water. It would round out the ocean theme that the characters already have.

Yeah, the bright light in the center it's a bit distracting.
And also I don't like the colors, especialy the purple one, did u try with light/dark blue?

PS. I know that starry effect in the bg

Interesting that you chose the mermaid characters, its good to be different. A more ocean oriented background would look really good tho, not that yours doesn't, but it is kinda distracting

01-21-2004, 09:13 AM
yes, more ocean oriented (once a time I tried to find an underwater bg to make a wall with, but I didn't find anything-without big dolphins and distracting things, I mean-)and you could use a different type of glow -not squares- such as little bubbles..or :o  [u]also a fish-brush for the glow

You need a new background. It's not working - totally

01-21-2004, 11:04 AM
I like the colors, but I'm also not feeling the wallpaper. an underwater-type scene would be better. It can be anything from a picture to a liquidy-type effect. I dont know about a fish brush, but a bubble brush would be awesome. you know how bubbles rise out of the sand under the water? maybe something like that.

Hmm... lots and lots of comments.... all so different and i didn't noe whose opinions to follow, so i had to make 4 different versions of the wallpaper to suit everyone's opinions

Version 2
Changed the wheels to fish
Got rid of the lens flare in the middle
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...earts4_copy.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy.jpg)

Version 3
Changed colour of background to dark blue
Made the characters closer together
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy2.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy2.jpg)

Version 4
Turned the background into a photo of the Great Barrier Reef
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy3.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy3.jpg)

Version 5
Made a liquidy background (sort of) - might be hard to see liquid effect
Made bubbles rise from the bottom of the wallpaper
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy4.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy4.jpg)

:^_^: you put the fish brush :^_^:
anyway, I like the second and the fourth..this last would be better with darkering the top of the bg

01-22-2004, 05:10 AM
Same taste as akachan  The 2nd and the 4th one.

01-22-2004, 03:28 PM
I really enjoy the last one. It's cute. The 1 and 2 are just too colorful, and too much = bad. The 3rd one is.. Well, you shouldn't mix real images, with drawn charcters, it doesn't work out.

But overall, I like them.

01-22-2004, 03:40 PM
yup, the last one is the best
keep up the good work ^^

I like the one with the picture, but with fish or bubbles and with the closer character position that you used in one of them. The bubbles in the wallpaper aren't bubbles; they are swirls. I know there are bubble brushes out there, but I don't know exactly where they are.

Hmmm.... interesting
Here's two more versions

Version 6
With the picture of the Great Barrier reef and actual bubbles :)
(if they look crappy, i'll just let you know I drew them)

Version 7
With the blue and white gradient, but I made the blue darker
(And this one has bubbles aswell)
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy6.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy6.jpg)

01-23-2004, 11:18 PM
I like version 7 (the last one) the best of them all. The bubbles are a nice touch. How about making some of them more faded than others to add a litle depth?

01-24-2004, 04:10 AM
Yeah, 7th is also great.
I agree with Pooky about the bubbles.

01-24-2004, 02:25 PM
agree with wizzy and pooky, but im not sure, it looks empty, add some things( not too much though)

01-24-2004, 04:55 PM
it does look empty on the website, but if you put it on your desktop it looks a lot better.

01-24-2004, 07:47 PM
Thanx for all the critique
...I think these should be the last two versions

Version 8
Faded some bubbles for depth
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy9.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy9.jpg)

Version 9
Re-added in the liquidy stuff
(with faded bubbles also)
http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Can...arts4_copy8.jpg (http://img4.photobucket.com/albums/v29/Candy-starR/Wallpapers/kingdom_hearts4_copy8.jpg)

01-24-2004, 08:02 PM
version 9 is nice! the liquid stuff adds a nice touch

01-24-2004, 11:58 PM
I like version 9 the best. The bubbles and the liquidy effect are a nice touch. ^_^

01-25-2004, 04:55 AM
Endeed, the last version (9th) is the best!

01-25-2004, 06:39 AM
Well I had a look through a few of them and I have to say that I like version 9 the most. It's nice to see the evolution of a wallpaper like that. Great job with the end product!

01-25-2004, 12:01 PM
9 is the best

01-26-2004, 02:51 AM
you could...
 nothing  I was joking :P , the last version is perfect, I totally agree with the others .good job!
