[Help - Video] Movie maker

I'm trying to make a amv but for the show I want to do it with I'm having trouble. The parts that i want are on the net and I can't get them from a dvd because it hasn't come out yet so i was wondering does anyone know how to get video's from the net to movie maker?

What movie maker are you using? Different movie makers accept different video formats.

do u want to get the clips off youtube? if you do google youtube downloader, with windows movie maker its EXTREMELY BUGGY with file types so when u get a video you will most likely need to convert it to WMV file format for the movie maker to take it.

google Format Factory its able to convert all video types and music types, however its a little slow xD i have a faster converter but i dont know if it converts to WMV (sorry too lazy to open it up) google Free Start Movie converter.

* Audio files: .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff
* Windows Media files: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv
* Still images: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .gif
* MP3 format audio: .mp3

Just find a place to download your episodes that are in one of these formats. Veoh is easy to use, though it doesn't always have the episodes you're looking for.

ya it accepts almost everything but its incredibly buggy if its not in WMV format.

ok i got it working but how would i get sences from a DVD to it

Oh, you mean scenes.. You have to get a DVD converter to convert the episodes on the DVD to an editable file. Sooo basically you can find a free one on the internet that watermarks it or you can spend some moolah and buy a good one...

As another note, should you incorporate images, be they stills or animated GIFs, they tend to get badly distorted in the output video file if made with Windows Movie Maker.
It also encodes the output video file from scratch, no matter the format(s) of the input file(s), so each run-through will get worse rapidly. Do it in as few steps as possible.

How would I get the audio off of one video and use it for another or just to take it off and save it for later

first,download the video to your computer with leawo free youtube downloader,then convert it to wmv for movie maker with leawo free flv converter. They are all free software and i have been using them for a long time
