[Help - OS X] Mac question

So i own the new aluminum Mac 17" notebook that contains two video cards. One Nvidia 9400 (256mb) card and the Nvidia 9600 (512mb) card. I know that when the computer switches to the 9400 when it uses less intensive graphic programs but the other kicks in when it uses more rigorous graphics.

Anyway, my question is, is there a manual way of switching from each card?

Have you perhaps tried bashing it on a giant Windows-shaped rock?

Seriousl, though, I have a buddy that just bought that same rig, I'll send him a message and see what he says. He's pretty Mac-savvy for some ungodly reason.

You can do it, but it requires logging out of OS X

System Prefs -> Energy Saver, and change Graphics to Higher Performance.
It'll log you out, and switch cards.

I don't think there's a way to do this if you're running Boot Camp, and I haven't tried it in parallels.
