Hey everyone...I was browsing over and I noticed that theres been no real thread dedicated to any bands that arn't modern (by modern I mean early 90's to now). I mean sure theres been some mention but thats it. I just wanted to see if anyone one else here besides me was a fan of the bands like Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd...all those classics. So I thought aww what the hell lets give them a topic...

Now that thats been said and done post your favorite band (1965-1989) and the song that you feel really shows just how good they really are, and sure you can post more then one

ok for me its gotta be some Led Zepplin...anything really...and some Pink Floyd "Echos" on the side.

Oh and some Hendrix...definatly "All Along the Watch Tower"

Well I'm Mostly an Alternative fan (about '92-'99), but I like a few older bands..

Metallica- For Whom the Bell Tolls (1984)
Billy Idol- White Wedding (1982)
Rolling Stones- Paint it Black (1966)
The Eagles- Hotel California (1976)
Nine Inch Nails- Head Like A Hole (1989)

I could probably come up with more, but thats all I can think of.

There are a good many bands not mentioned.
Status Quo has to be one of the very best bands ever!
Trying to remember a song from that era is going to be difficult as they are still recording.

The Pet Shop Boys "West End Girls"
There's the whole collection of "dead" groups of which I only remember 2
The Dead Kennedys
The Dead Milkmen

No one's mentioned the Sex Pistols either...though I'm not sure I can pick a favourite song there.
