I have a lot of Scotch-Irish ancestors (Ulster-Scots, to be specific), and some English, Dutch, and German ones as well. The oldest ancestors that I know of in my family were Normans who came from the European continent to England under William the Conqueror. That’s when my last name was first created, so I’m not sure who my ancestors were before the 11th Century.
