Many of us have favorite childhood pastimes that we hold sentimental to us in days long past.

What would be your favorite childhood nostalgia?

Merrian Webster Definition - a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition ; also : something that evokes nostalgia

- 80's shows/music
- My dad's home cooking
- The scent of my dad's cooking
- 80's toys/games/board games (candy land!)
- "Baby Soft" perfume (had it when I was around 15, lol)

I remembered I used to eat candies everyday when I was small. Eating chocolates and sweets is not strange for a fat kid, but I was really skinny back then. Now I've grown to be an extremely healthy(?) and cheerful(?) person.

I'll never forget the days when I would look at the setting sun through a ruler. That's why I'm sensitive to very bright light. I'll never forget the days when I would just sit down and play with my toys. Everything seemed larger then.

Playing with my dolls. They were all very complex, for things made out of plastic.
I also have some 80s music in my i-Pod, for nostalgic reasons.

That would also be me. I would always see it (or something like it) in the issues of Commodore Format and Amiga Format, always thinking "I want!"

The old kids shows - Mr. Wizard, Reading Rainbow, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, David the Gnome, TMNT. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

The old adult shows I wasn't supposed to watch - Matlock, Mason, MacGyver, Knight Rider, A-Team, In Living Color, Martin, Melrose Place.

Man, we had great television back then.

You're not much older than me, so same generation.

Oh man.

TV: Brady Bunch (obviously reruns), Ghostbusters cartoon, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, Transformers, early Saved by the Bell episodes

Movies: The Neverending Story, Star Wars

Toys: NES, Ninja Turtle action figures

And of course, a dinosaur fascination.

What year do you have to be born to be considered a gen y?

Err, I'm not sure. I've never heard anything definite.

After X (which ends in 1980 I think), but before some point in the 90's.

Here's a chart (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_generations).

Thank you for clearing up the confusion.

I believe I fall in the lines of Generation Y.

Oh gosh, I will NEVER forget the day I got my NES. I got mine really late (I was the last to get everything cause we were dirt poor), but when I did get it I fell in love instantly.

I'd sneak into the living room in the middle of the night, turn the television so the light didn't glare down the hall, and play Mario on mute until about an hour before mom got up. I can still remember the living room saturated with an eerie metallic blue from the water levels.

Didn't get caught until I started falling asleep in Head Start regularly. Good times. I loved my NES.

This chart isn't too clear about people born in the early 1990's... I guess I would be in between generation Y and Z.

I dunno love. Different sources give different timelines, so it's hard to tell.

But if you're 1992 +/- 1, I think you're a Yer.
