View Full Version : Weapon of Choice

I was just wondering what peoples' favorite weapons are. I know it sounds kinda scarry thinking about. Though sometimes it is very important that you have a weapon depending where you are or what you're doing. So what weapon would you want if you could have it.

I would want, a semi-automatic machine gun or a fully automatic.

Well ever since playing DW6 I've always wanted Lu Bu weapon, I don't even know what you'd call it or how to use it, but it's the scariest blade you'll ever see.

I would probably settle with a sniper or a shotgun. There is nothing more satisfying than taking out your opponents with one shot.

If it's hand to hand combat, then a trident would suffice. You never really see those being used often.

I would go with a semi-automatic .22 rifle, something light to carry around; or a hand and half sword in close quarters.

Machine guns would be too heavy for me....

Shurikens, daggers, kunai or any throwing weapons are a no go. Except for Senbons. I got the hang of them. =D

So I guess Senbons, handgun, and a light sharp sword...

Weapon of choice for what? Personal defense or war? They've both got very different requirements for very different scenarios. You can even break those down into types of personal defense (carrying for general defense versus preparing for known conflict, in addition to differences regionally by local attitudes and laws regarding self-defense) and into types of warfare (dismounted vs mounted patrol, etc.). It'll also depend on what you're trained with, and how diligent you are in that training; having a piano and tapping keys once in a while doesn't make you a musician, you know?

As I posted elsewhere, I have my preferences (http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a213/black_knight_reborn/Firearm-related/DSCN5293.jpg).

Some sort of assault rifle, and a sword would do just fine. I'd need training with the sword. I'm a pretty good shot with everything else. It'd have to have the noob tube [grenade launcher] slung under the barrel.

For close range with gun, pistol.
I'm a lousy shot with a sniper, so I guess a missile launcher turret type thing, with a big shield so I can't get sniped.

But ideally, I'm the one issuing commands to the rest of you ;)

My trusty +2 Impact/Collision/Energy aura/Ethereal reaver Warhammer.

If I'm feeling feisty, I might decide to dust off the ol' Greater Legacy'd Crimson Ruination. Depends on the character sheet and what books we're using.

If we're just using core books, a +2 flaming longsword will always be the standard in enchanted weaponry.

In a pinch, I'd reach for that 70 year old russian carbine. I know it front to back, can operate it blind by feel, can load it by feel if need be, and it has a bayonet for close quarters combat.

It's magazine capacity is limited, though, so an AK47 would be more useful.

Good question. For real weapons, the Colt M1911A1. My uncle took me to a range once and let me at it. It's really the only weapon (besides a machete) that I wielded.

If fictional weapons count, I want to use the Weisswritter's Oxtongue Rifle.

Why settle for mere weapons when you can have airborne weapons systems capable of doing everything but occupying large swaths of territory?

First Choice: F-15E- good for air-to-air and air-to-ground. Capability to drop napalm is welcomed and even delightful. I will not settle for some low-cost, downgraded export F-16, either, so don't try to point out he cost difference.
With the Eagle, I'll get an internal 20mm cannon and pretty much anything else I can mount and lift minus nukes.
Second Choice: P-47- same as above, just dated. No missiles and just iron bombs (meaning unguided), sadly, but more guns: a whole mess of .50cal! I don't care what variant it is; they're all good. I'll only resort to this if the government pulls some fascist crap and denies me my Strike Eagle, as is my right.
Third Choice, only viable for world domination and/or apocalypse scenarios: XB-70:
http://www.k2.dion.ne.jp/~konjyo/xb-70/xb70.4.jpg
If I break out this Mach 3 nuclear bomber prototype, you all may as well say goodbye to your loved ones. I'd have to be pretty desperate, though, so you'd be better off looking for my other choices.
The F-104 looks real nice, too, but the lack of air-to-ground capability makes me reconsider, and the type was often regarded as a bit of a death trap on landing.

If we're limited to ground-based weapons in this thread, then I suppose I'd settle for the M388 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device)) (or other nuclear artillery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_artillery), though I find the M388 almost adorable in its proportions). A half-kiloton of fun will deter all but the craziest idiots.

As for a weapon I might actually get my hands on, far simpler implements will do. Pipes, poles and rocks can do some serious damage to an unguarded face, along with most of the human body. Sometimes, people don't take you seriously with more primitive weapons, allowing you to move in quickly and pummel any arrogant fool who underestimates the might of blunt trauma.

A longbow, a crossbow and some sort of machine gun would be nice. XD Ooooh and a flamethrower! If I'd be able to wield any of those weapons... uh, probably not XP Chainsaws are nice too. Yeeees. >:3

Fun little tidbit they don't tell you about the Desert Eagle: the casings eject from the top, meaning, straight up and back. Most .50 AE casings are steel. So that's a half-inch wide steel casing sent rearward with modest velocity. Assuming fairly normal human proportions, it seems to align its flight path with the forehead amazingly well.

That's true, but I'm talking about my lack of control and precision with a one handed European sword. Katanas I do admit to liking a lot because of the sleekness and history of them. My pic Gallery has me with one. I love katanas, but put a staff-like item in my hand (broom, etc) and an urge to practice and spin with it, though Ive had no real lessons, comes over me. H&k G-series. Like the G36; you can put 50,000 rds through it before a single jam. And unless they're wearing DragonArmor, or you're up against Deadpool, you're gonna put the other person down.
Then again, there's not much more intimidating then the sound of the pump-action of a Shotgun.
But to complete the arsenal properly, you gotta have a sword or a machete...cause it won't run out of ammo. An especially important fact when fighting against the Zombie Horde.

My weapon of choice would be Sephiroth's Masamune. I wouldn't take his I'd have my own, with dragons engraved on the blade.:ninja: :ninja:

I'm fond of bolt action rifles even if I have to be right handed for them. That's why handguns are nice since I shoot better left.
Then again long swords don't need loading and they're expensive if they're not replicas.

I wish I was good at archery, too..
