well, i want to go for plain and light, i'm not sure if i should add text or not, what do you people think?

yeah text would be nice ! and maybe you should try making the lines in another color ... not exactly like the smoke ... looks ... kinda connected ... or maybe a black outline to the line ... something like that should do great

some small text like spike speagle would be cool maybe along the line, I would maybe put a slight blur on the bg since the portrait itself has a blur the crisp bg kinda clashes with it for me.

ok, i softend the bg, changed the color of the line slightly, sharpened the chara (a little) and added his name (spike SPIEGEL) near the line (i may have to find a better font, but i think this one fits the wall pretty well) anyways, behold:

I think it looks pretty good! did you try placing the text closer to the character's body to see how it looks?

errr, ok, name closer to character (though i think it draws too much attention to itself there).

hmm toughy.... i usually dont use fonts for that reason XD I kind of like it closer to the character though; it melds with the rest of the picture.

I like the second one better than the first one, though I don't like the text...

ok, i think i'll keep this one (though i may leave the text off for my personal use, i don't much care for text in general) so yeah, the text blends in a little better now, i think. see for yerself
