View Full Version : Animals to stay away from

Of course, by nature we usually fear the animals by their size. Also, there's more chance you'd fear a tiger than a little spider you'd think it's harmless.
But here's a little and very nice video that might change your opinion(even if i am sure that you have heard about some of them.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku0UuUxMAeE

Conclusion? There are much more dangerous and fatal animals out there that can be right in the back of our yard...

The Closethreadasaurus. It's been known to close things with its massive jaws that look like a lock. I've been bitten a few times and it tends to leave a mark. Sometimes it itches, but you should have a backscratcher.

Hahaha - this is an ancient and deadly adversary, mentioned with fear in the scriptures. If faced with this, I advise you to use your towel.

Also I agree with whoever said man - we are often very scarey if you think about it! I must say sometimes i catch myself trying not to

I also confess i find some bugs and spiders (especially hairy ones - moths too) to be - well - the only word is 'indecent'. they just give me the shivers...

Whatever you do, don't get a chimpanzee as a pet. (http://www.boston.com/news/local/connecticut/articles/2009/02/16/police_pet_chimpanzee_attacks_woman_in_stamford/)

Other than that, i'm sure they are ok in zoos and places where you know, they should be.

Gawd, crack open a rulebook. They're Aberrations* not Animals.

*- I'd argue that Facehuggers are Aberrations, although I guess vermin would be alright... although most of the other Xenomorphs clearly possess enough intelligence and abilities to make aberration a given.

In a sense, no matter how you look at it, the facehuggers kind of have the spider appearance in mix with alien blood.

Yes, well, the Neogi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsters_of_Spelljammer#Neogi) look like a cross between Spiders and Eels, but they're still aberrations.

I don't know. There really aren't that many deadly animals in Sweden. There are bears and wolves I guess, but they aren't nearly as dangerous as they're cracked up to be. There are European Vipers up here, and they aren't all that poisonous, so healthy people should survive without even visiting a hospital (though the horrible pain makes most people do so anyways.) In general, bite-wise, there is negligible risk for rabies, but I guess you could get lockjaw or something, but most people are vaccinated against that around here, so the risk isn't very big.

So in conclusion: I choose people.

You're ignoring the most vile creature imaginable: the Moose. Every year, thousands of mooses (meese) throw themselves into traffic for the pleasure of their dark god.

Also, Lockjaw is the result of a bacteria that generally lives in soil.

Interestingly wolves don't attack people - the only times you get wolf attacks are when you get someone doing something really stupid (like walking right into the middle of a pack with cubs) or during a very lean winter when starvation will force a wolf to take more risks to get food.

Most contact is when wolves predate on the the farmed animals of man - since sheep in a field are nice easy targets ;)

Also as for lockjaw (tetanus) it is from the ground more than animal bites - so you can catch it from a simple cut finger getting some mud on it. Interstingly where I live is apparently one of the hotspots for it in Europe (even though we don't consider ourselves very European in the UK ;))

I don't know why people are so afraid of spiders.

"OH MY GOD! A SPIDER!" yells a guy.
"Where?" says his girl.
"ON THE GROUND WAY OVER THERE!"

If it's not crawling all over you, why be so afraid?
In my area, the only animal you have to be afraid of is man.

I lol'd.

Reminds me of that joke by..
God what was his name..
Brian Regan, his stupid in school skit.

Just in case you've never heard of it, Here is the quotes from it, check it out on YouTube later. :p

* "Brian, what's the i before e rule?"

"I before e... always."
"What are you, an idiot, Brian?"
"Well apparently."
So she explains it.
"No, Brian. It's i before e except after c and when sounding like a as in neighbor and weigh, and on weekends and holidays and all throughout May, and you'll always be wrong no matter what you say!"
That's a hard rule. That's a- that's a rough rule.
Plurals were hard, too.
“Brian, how do you make a word a plural?”
“You put a ‘s’…put a ‘s’ at the end of it.”
“When?”
“On weekends and holidays...”
“No, Brian. Let me show you.” So she asked this kid who knew everything. Irwin. “Irwin, what’s the plural for ox?”
“Oxen. The farmer used his oxen.”
“Brian?”
(chuckling)“What?”
“Brian, what’s the plural for box?”
“Boxen. I bought 2 boxen of doughnuts.”
"No, Brian, no. Let's try another one. Irwin, what's the plural for goose?"
"Geese. I saw a flock of geese."
"Brian."
(half-crying) "Wha-at?"
"Brian, what's the plural for moose?"
"Moosen! I saw a flock of moosen! There were many of 'em. Many much moosen. Out in the woods- in the woodes- in the woodsen. The meese want the food. The food is to eatenesen. The meese want the food in the woodingesen! In the, food in the woodenesen!"
"Brian! Brian. You're an imbecile."
"Imbecile-n."
"What are you speaking? German, Brian?"
"German. Jermain. Jermaine Jackson. Jackson Five. Tito!"
"Brian, what the hell are you talking about!?"
"I don't know, I don't know really."

I know this, but I'm safe from the Kamikaze meese, since I don't have a driver's license.

It isn't exactly hard to fathom how dirt could get into an exposed wound, especially in a scuffle with some animal in the woods.

Man is the worst

Man is a Humanoid, not an Animal. Animals only have 1-2 intelligence points, while most humans have 4-5. They can advance as player characters as long as their class doesn't require much reading.

Ah, but my bicycle is the pride of the Swedish military: The Lightweight Terrain-going Attack Bicycle (LTAC). I'm not making this up. The 'lightweight' part is some sort of military attempt at sarcasm. Unlike conventional bicycles, that are made out of flimsy aluminum, or have hollow frames, this one is made out of mercilessly heavy steel, and have a either solid frame, or a very thick hollow frame.

They look like this (this isn't mine, though):
http://eris.name/AttackCycle.png

What a tank is to a car, the LTAC is to a bicycle. It is absolutely merciless with whatever stands in it's path (and it is unfortunately also absolutely merciless with it's operator). Where am I going with this? Oh yeah, the meese. They had better fear the LTAC. Jumping infront of an LTAC is like jumping infront of a freight train. It is not a pretty sight.

How fast would you have to be going to intimidate a Moose? Do you have some sort of optional jet-engine package or something? Maybe a Moose-Catcher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilot_(locomotive))?

Not very fast at all. You need to remember that all that matters in a collision is momentum, which is defined as speed times mass, and since the mass of the LTAC is abso-frickin'-XBOX-HUGE!!!11, it is a lethal weapon at almost any speed.

Iron and Steel products a main export of Sweden, so the military is like going, "Hey, we've got cheap steel, let's make everything we can think of out of solid steel and cast iron so it's heavier than hell out of sheer malice. Who knows, maybe everything weighing hundred times more than it needs to will will confuse the Russians when they invade or something..."

And thus, the 30 ton bicycle was born.

The most deadly of them all is undoubtedly the dreaded GRUE!

The moment it's dark outside, and you have forgotten to bring a torch, a message appears on your screen confirming that you are so royally screwed: It's pitch dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Snakes. I hate their long thin body >__<;

I used to have a snake. It was an albino corn snake (nonpoisonous) that only bit a few times when it had been aiming for the food...only to instead reach our unwilling fingers. Many people I know are terrified of snakes, but so long as they're not venomous, I have no problem with them.
