Decent game. Worst I've played for the Tales series. Over hyped.

Strangely enough, it's the game I have played the most times and imported it's GC counterpart, and will eventually it's PS2 counterpart.

I loved it, honestly.
The battle system wasn't that bad either.
Especially being able to play with friends.
I liked the story line as well.
I give it a 9/10

If you mean the game on the Gamecube (and PS2) then 06.66/10.00.

If you mean the new Tales of Symphonia on the Wii, then I don't know because I didn't and wont play it.

Tales of series generally are a good example of an low budget JRPG, and Tales of Symphonia was the worst of them all.

Obviously people who say ToS is the worst in the series haven't played Abyss, Legendia, Tales of the World, Eternia, or the new Symphonia (or even Vesperia). :P

The first Symphonia was simple fun for a console that really needed RPGs, but no Tales game can beat Phantasia.

Eternia: Yes
DotnW: No (do not own a Wii)
Vesperia: No (too poor for it right now)
Phantasia: Yes

With an inclusion of: Tempest, Summoner's Lineage, and Narikiri Dungeon 3.

All the Tales games are "simple fun," so there is no exception for Symphonia. To me, Symphonia is the worst in the series and ranks well below the games you thought were inferior.
