The Princess I’ve Been Searching For So Long

Ever since my first day of school,
I was the most popular student in school.
Or “Prince” shall they call
The most intelligent student who later on had his own fan club
The class president and the student council president.

No matter where I go; no matter what time it is,
I can hear different overdone compliments;
Big expectations from my teachers and seniors.
They are all expecting something else from me.
But if they knew the real me, maybe they would treat me differently.

All they say is I truly am perfect
In my every decision, my every move.
I’m not even sure if I am doing the right thing,
But still, ‘I really am like a Prince,’ they say.
They never get tired saying those things, don’t they?

But if I’m the ‘Prince’,
Then who shall be my ‘Princess’?
My fan club’s president? Vice President? A random member?
I can see that they are nice and some are cute
But none of them know who I really am? Is there even one?

The reason why I study in this school?
The reason why I push away everyone?
The reason why no one knows what are my likes and dislikes?
My parents; how I used to live; how cursed I am
The story of my life; and the problems that I come across.

This whole time, all I thought is that
When somebody becomes close to me
Then it’s possible that they’ll know my secret
And soon enough, they will all forsake me.
Because a cursed person like me deserves nothing.

Akito is right. My existence has no purpose at all.
Those dark pitch words that Akito said was true
My friends’ memories ended up being erased
I’m just a toy that my mother had given to Akito.
So never shall I dream of being saved.

Soon I become afraid,
To have another friend who’ll desert me in the end.
So I hid myself in this thick shell
Whose wall shall keep me from being attach
For I knew, that it’ll be better to have no one than losing someone.

Then all of a sudden, a girl stepped into my life.
Invite me to stay with her;
Give me a hand to cope in every difficulty;
Help me overcome the pain and sorrow I been through;
Help me feel confident in every possible way.

How could I have thought that someday
The person whose existence is what I barely realize,
Will be the very person who would unexpectedly accept me?
The way I am, the way I live my life.
The way I thought no one could possibly like.

How could I have thought that someday
I will be sharing my meals together with a fine girl like you?
Study together, laugh, and cry together.
That we’d get to know one another like we have;
That you would the very person that I would be willing to share my life with.

The very person who taught me to smile
That is it I, who’ll decide what my purpose is
That it is okay to cry, to admit my defeat.
That there is nothing to fear; just hang in there
For you will always be there by my side.

It seems that I feel love deeper than you ever realize.
I can’t imagine what life might be without you.
How can I survive the sorrow?
How can I ever smile like I used to?
What am I without you?

Now I have come to realize,
The fact that my existence doesn’t bother you
That your honest eyes tell me to stay and never leave
My heart and mind; body and soul can tell,
That you are the princess I’d been searching for so long.
