I have a rather bizarre question. Does this image:

remind anyone of a specific anime? It's supposed to be a reference/quotation/etc. that I've been "dared" to track down, and i haven't had much luck so far. Thanks for any help.

Looks like something out of Serial Experiments Lain to me, but man, that's pretty damn ambiguous.

I'm fairly sure it actually is Serial Experiments Lain, since the font and overall look seem to be identical to the ones used in all the posters I've found, so thank you for narrowing it down quite a lot. But I still haven't been able to track down the exact quotation or tagline, whichever the case may be.
