I love rurouni kenshin, I have the complete 28 manga collection, and the Samurai X complete collection and today I got the full 3 boxset series.
Whats your opinion on the series if you have seen it or read it? and what do you think of the 3rd boxset (filler set).

Saw like, the first 10 episodes. That's about it. Was pretty good, though.

Those boxed sets look nice, though.

Those are only available in region 4 format, the US region 1 version looks really cheap that's why I got region 4.

There is this US version which is similar to the region 4 one except that its not as thick and the CDs are not in separate cases, sleeve cases instead, but you cant really find this anymore, its way too rare and expensive.

Looks very nice. I saw a few of these a few years back. Very good stuff from what I recall.

saw the first anime boxset on a dealers table ages ago but I got the manga vols 1 to 9

its not that I dont like kenshin its just I like samurai anime to have more blood and guts

also Nobuhiro Watsuki also did another manga called Gun blaze west, set in west round the time as Kenshin 1875 to 1880 (meji years) and the Hero meets a girl from Japan who fled to the west. its too bad shonen jump droped it after 3 vols.

dont get me started on Buso Renkin

HAha, I never read or watched Buso Renkin and I dont think I ever will,

its good if you like young shonen hero manga

the first ten chapters can be found on the manga fox site thats about 1 vol and a 1/2 of the whole story before they canned it

Meh, it went from "okay" to "great" from the beginning until the aftermath of the Shishio arc. It went terribly downhill after that. With decent OVA's under it's belt, i still think that Rurouni Kenshin was pretty much above average. When i was younger, when it was still pretty new...it WAS my favorite anime series.

I was never into the manga, i'm more of an anime fan so...
