New Years[Do you stay up]?

During New Years Eve, do you stay up until New Years arrives, or do you fall asleep before it. Also, what time do you usually fall asleep on New Years? What do you do on this date for fun, anything different, or do you just take it in and act like its a normal day.

I stay up during this time and I usually fall asleep around 3:00. I really don't do much on this day, just watch it happen on tv and most of the time I get excited because I know there is only 5 days until my birthday arrives.

I stay up, but I'm always disappointed when nothing actually happens. >__<
When the clock strikes midnight, I watch the ball drop and go to bed in my dead quiet house. It feels kind of depressing.

I usually go to bed around 11pm and 12 if I don't have class the next day, so staying up on New Years is nothing special for me. My family always goes to the large movie theatre two towns over on New Years; the tradition started with the Lord of the Rings movies, but this year there aren't any good movies playing.

I always stay up till midnight even though it really doesnt mean anything to me, just another day. Although this year I think that im actually going to coordinate something with my friends.

I don't do too much extra, other than stay up later than normal on New Years. It's pretty much a normal day for me. I just like how when it just turns 12:00 AM January 1 of the next year, that the people an hour behind me are still in last year, so it's kind of funny to feel like you're in the future.

Well, since I'm such an early bird in general, my body doesn't let me stay up too late on New Year's Eve. But, if I take some naps here and there during the night (starting around 8:00) I usually get to see the ball drop in Time's Square on the telly, and then go straight to bed and sleep. I don't really do anything for that night, either. I just stay home and spend the night with my family, unless we all get invited to some New Year's party or something.

I usually always stay up tell 1 AM everyday. So, I suppose I will be staying up for the New Years o_O

Every New Year is different. Last time we went to bed at 7 am if I recall correctly. All totally drunk.

This year I am not planning to go to bed earlier than 3 AM.

Yup I always stay up on new Years, I stay up until I fall asleep. And since I'm most likely on caffiene that's probably not until 2 or I might not fall asleep at all.

Yea i always stay up, this year ill probably go out with some friends. But back in my country people make these.. human size dolls which represent the old year and burn them at 12 it was lots of fun :]

I'm up till three in the morning on normal days anyway. The only thing we do special on New Years is me and my mom stay up drinking Kahlua and cream till about two in the morning. Me and mom always usher in the new year pretty drunk, its a short-running tradition XD

It's the only time of the year I really drink, of course, seeing as how I'm 15. >>

I usually stay up with my family and watch the ball drop too. Then I go to bed about 1 or so. Years ago Id stay up with my mom and my brother and we'd put together a 3D puzzle through the night untill we're done or very close. It was fun to do and it kept us awake as we ate chips and salsa. ^^

yes, i wait for new year, just because i always stay up late. i really don't do anything but eat, watch TV, or just use the computer.
oh, and sometimes i watch the news. you see, the hospitals are usually filled with some stupid people who experience accidents by using illegal firecrackers. yes, lots of them.

Yep, I'll be up. I'm usually up after midnight anyway, but I usually spend New Year's eve at a relative's house. We snack on appetizers 'til the ball drops, then toast the new year in, call other relatives, then have dinner. Later that day at home, i watch the roses parades on tv, if i'm awake, that is. It's not very exciting, but it's something i look forward to.

yup! i stay up and watch the ball drop on t.v. every year, i guess this year i'll be staying at home since my friends live so far away. i might be drinking a beer or a glass of wine with my family and relax till i pass out and maybe when i'll wake up in the afternoon to watch the Mummers parade on tv.

We hop over blades while wielding blades. Since that is only the first part, the second part of the the New Years' ritual is turning the dance into pseudo-combat. It will seem like a fight however we will not be really attacking each other because blades are sharp and you could get hurt. After that, my sister, a second dan black belt in Tang Soo Do and myself, an instructor in Tang Soo Do duel at midnight.

This stuff is very dangerous. So remember kids, make sure you know what you're doing before you reach for a blade.

I stay up but not to welcome the new year. Mostly to watch the marathons that are on and talk my under-age friends out of getting wasted and stuff. Plus, I have to go pick them up when they don't listen to me and get wasted anyway. -_-* I really kinda don't the whole new years' party thing.

New Year's is the perfect day for the adults to get drunk, while the rest of us spend the entire day playing video games. This year we'll have SSBB to play, so it's bound to be fun. And it's funny because the drunk people usually give you money. We always stay up until midnight, and I usually fall asleep around three or four in the morning.

I usually go to bed at midnight or later, so it's nothing different for me. I stay up until 2 or 3 on New Year's but I'm gonna try and get to sleep earlier than that this time around. I make sure I watch the ball drop and make a wish on the last ten seconds of the year. I dunno when or why I started wishing on the last few seconds, but I've been doing it for a long time.
