They're not too bad.
But, take a look at your sigs.
In most of them you can't even see their faces, and that's something you want to avoid doing.
Also, fix the text. You want the text to be clear and blend with the rest of the sig. Not just stick out or not be seen at all.
You could also fix the lighting, so it will look a little better; same with the contrast.
Good job though, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

They are pretty decent but something I would like to point out is the brightness of your sigs. They are really...really...really bright[Especially sig 2] but don't worry about it too much, you shall get better in time.

The text could use some touch up but other then that your set to go for your new sig creations.

yeah the 2nd one did come out alittle too bright n_n;
i was also wondering what different types of backgrounds i could use
like every time i make a sig that's the part that stumps me the most
any ideas?

Your characters are too bright I think, and it seems to be making them look low quality.

Also, in the first one, the characters leg is cut off.... It looks odd like that, so if you can't find an image where she has the leg, maybe you could move the character to the side or something? And also, the colors in that sig don't really match. The character is mostly red, but the background is mostly blue. The character doesn't look like she really belongs...

Anyway, good start, and good luck!

Once again, fix the brightness.
The character in the sig is brighter than it's supposed to be.
Also, fix the text; drop a shadow or change the color because it looks somewhat awkward.
You've definatly improved though !
The text is clear, not as much brightness (but there's still some), and I can see the character's face.
Good job, keep it up.

Hey, you should really have a look at the tuts [at AF] because I guaranty you will stumble on techniques that will make you go, "ohhhhhhhhhhhhh". I always find some new thing looking at the tuts members posted. Heck, there is no chance in hell that I would have learned this or that otherwise.

There are a lot of GIMP users, even here. :)

Yeah, brightness and the quality.
I see how your sigs are kind of big, maybe try making them smaller- It makes things easier.
Try and get a flow and blend things a bit more.
Anyway.. Good job. =)
You have potential, keep at it. I'd like to see more. ^^

I can teach you GIMP, it's the main program I work with. I find easier than PhotoShopCS3 EXT (I wish I had cs2), I am working on my second tutorial for AF I was making it for CS3 but I can include all the steps into turning into a GIMP and PS tut for you.

Anyway, lets get down to business. You need more effects with them the picture/tag/signature tends to looks a little boring, try some smudging or custom brushes, PM me and I'll give you a butt load XD

Wow, I'm impressed.
This is ten times better than the ones you began with.
Very good.
Although in the first one, try blending the character in a little better.
Great work.

Nice ^^
Do you make renders by yourself?
Cause it's better if you just download renders...

I suggest you use Photoshop much better :p

Can't remember where I saw this but you divide your sig up into ninths.

----------------------------
.............|.............|..........
---------a---------a--------
.............|.............|..........
---------a---------a--------
.............|.............|..........
----------------------------

Where the a's are is where your sig's focal point should be. If you can use all four points then awesome but it's pretty hard. For this reason it's best to place your extract in the centre [or there abouts]. It's where the eyes focus when looking at the image.

Not too sure what others say to that but I've adopted it.

I am pretty sure I've heard that referred to as the rule of thirds, they say it's a good idea for the focals to be in at least two of the A's.

Render's are very choppy, use the PATH tool to select, it can make very neat clean cuts, you should practice that. Or if you want to cheat, just use the magic wand tool and hit delete, it won't be perfect, but it's fast.

Also, just mess with GIMP, until you graps it and you feel ready for it.
