I loved that game! With Mario Brothers, and MB3!
I'm not sure if it can be a forgotten game because the whole Mario thing is still huge, but: Mario Paint for SNES. I used to play with the music maker for hours.

Very much this. All-Stars was remakes before there were remakes, and I'm glad for it because I never owned an NES; it was a welcomed overdose of Italian mustache.
And I'm not sure if it's actually forgotten, but nobody talks about Mario Paint anymore. I pretty much have a musical staff burned into my vision from hours upon hours spent on the music function.

The Mechwarrior 4 series of games(Vengance, Black Knight, Mercenaries) aren't well known these-a-days, but were a helluva lot of fun.
Probably the one that you all dont remember or probably never heard of.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. :)
Daken.

Baten Kiatus enternal wings and the lost ocean for gamecube i think
Super Mario Legend of the Seven stars for the Super Nintendo.
Geno is the best Mario character ever.
Mine would be the real Super Mario Bros 2(also called the lost levels), not the cheap rip-off they sold in the US.

Some other games I thought of:
1. Jumping Flash (PS1).
2. Crash Nitro Kart (PS1)
3. Street Fighter (SNES)
4. Super Double Dragon (SNES)
5. The Original Legend of Zelda (NES/Famicon)
6. Link to the Past (SNES/ GBA)
No-one lives forever. T'was amazing. Especially since I'm a '60s TV nerd, and can appreciate the references to The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and other (in-game) contemporary TV.

Shadowcat FTW :)
As for me 2 games come to mind
1) Sacrifice - graphics way ahead of its time and gameplay really unique. A difficult game to master but oh so much fun!
2) Starcraft Ghost - so forgotten that the developers forgot to release it ;)
Ultimate Seed

If this was best old game thread i would say Starcraft BUT as it is most "FORGOTTEN".
In that case i would chose Street Fighter and Mortal Combat the originals.
Old school 2d fist throwing was just wicked.

Destrega for the PS1.
I felt like the only kid in the world that had ever played it when I got it.
It was a pretty awesome fighter, hoping for a sequel.
Also, I feel Shadow Of The Colossus for the PS2 is a little forgotten, but not that forgotten.
