I normally don't trust websites like this, but when you have footage...

Don't underestimate the attraction of Twilight.
They only expected 300 to 500 fans to show up at a small Hot Topic store in a San Francisco mall where Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be doing a signing. So the lone security guard on hand was caught totally by surprise by the more than 3,000 who actually turned up. And then things really started to spin out of control, as disputes over who would get in culminated in a melee that left at least one girl bloody and others trampled. The San Francisco signing was cancelled, but the Hot Topic tour is scheduled to continue with cast appearances throughout the week, and a similar event in Seattle went off without a hitch.
TMZ has video (http://www.tmz.com/2008/11/10/bloodsuckers-trample-kids-at-twilight-signing/) of the crowd, and KCBS has an audio report (http://www.kcbs.com/Unexpected-Crowd-at-Stonestown/3289976) with first hand accounts from the scene.

Maybe now people will see that putting your life on the line for a measly autograph is not as great as it sounds. Putting your life on the line for your country is something to be proud of. An autograph? No.

I doubt Twilight's fans will ever realize the folly they have fell victim to due to their stupidity. I would love to be an officer there. Beating down an overzealous fangirl just to put her in her place would be fun.

Never underestimate the force that is fangirls. They could be deadly.

Officer's Riot control weapons available:

-"Nightstick of Smiting"
-"+1 Pepper Spray of STFU!"
-"+1 Stun Gun of Grounding"
-"+3 Tear Gas of Incapacitation"
-"+5 Beanbag Shotgun of Pwnzing"

Officer's Riot Defense:

-"Armored Riot Suit"
-"+3 Riot Shield of GTFO!"

Still the fangirls will win even with 20 officers going against them.

Fangirls of Twilight are bloodsuckers. Why just the other day I said the main character was so unrealistic & my blood was sucked in my sleep. Guess from where?...............................my neck. WTH?

That's why you buy the Riot Weapons. I don't know so much about getting the beanbag shotgun. The Pepper Spray, Stun Gun, and Nightstick you can easily get. You can use anything for a shield. I prefer a metal garbage can lid.

Seriously, what is this world coming to? One girl left bloody? It's a signature for goodness sake, it's not worth someone's well-being!

if its twilight fans we're talking about here, it should be ok to use lethal force. you know, kill one to prove you're not kidding, perhaps kill a few to stop them from fleeing... and to show pattinson how much he sucks.

O-o I don't know how somebody/a crowd/mob can indulge on so much of one thing to make them go on a rampage. Jeez, just to meet another person?

Tell me about it. Here I am thinking, "The Giants are gonna own Arizona!!!" and then I stumble onto this thread, read the article and think, "Crap, and I thought Tom Cruise and Scientology were stupid".

Oh well, good thing I have my beanbag shotgun. One beanbag right to the solar plexus will really knock the wind out of the enemy and maybe even cause internal bleeding.

Oh my god. These fangirls are just getting worse and worse!

"Crap, and I thought Tom Cruise and Scientology were stupid".

Damn, Scientology is stupid! I get worked up just at the mention of it. XD

aww... Just another reason to add to my list of reasons to not read this book. I don't like being like everyone else, for one, and for two, my god. It's a book. Fake people and imaginary lives. Yeah, it's exciting. woo! Now get over it!

Now, I even have a couple of my guy friends all over me like "you'll love it! It's awesome! You need to read!" Which, maybe I would be guilty and turn into someone who likes it, but... ick! Everything that I've heard of it so far is just... ick.

Were any of the fans trampled to death?

Because that'd be great.

You know I can see why people get bothered by the fangirls.

But thinking about it a bit more I've stopped. I mean would you rather they were mobbing Kanye West instead or some basketball player?

I might not think highly of Twighlight, but I'll still take book fangirls over most other types any day.

And fangirls bring in their friends. This is significant because it means they're pulling people closer to "us". I mean being a twighlight fan is only a small step from being a girl interested in coming over to your place to see a couple episodes of Vampire Knight.

Not that I'm a huge fan of Vampire Knight either but the emphasis here is on "your place".

I bet a bunch of vampires came later and rioted over the left over blood on the ground from this stupid riot.
Now vampires rioting would of been even more funnier and interesting then humans....or at least come crazy people who believe they are vampires(who drink blood and dress in capes etc.) rioting over that or Twilight would been the funniest shiznit on youtube.

i never got into twilight, i doubt i'll ever finish it. these fangirls are more pscho then they even been. but i can't talk. i would go pscho if it was jeff hardy. i'm just telling the truth.i highly doubt i would fight and get a autograph in a crowd that large.though i don't because i'm not that pscho for a sigature that i can get a copy of on ebay, with only the change it not being real.

I've been recently employed as a twilight fangirl vampire slayer, and I've been doing my research, and there's really only one solution. And THAT is to slay Robert Pattinson, and set Stephenie Meyer on fire. That is the only way you can get rid of the problem. Stabbing a fangirl will not work, they will only regenerate.

All right, I just found this hilarious video. It is a spoof on Twilight. I am not sure what you will think of it, but I thought that I should post it all the same anyway. Lol

I just died the rest of the way inside.

And I had finally started to recover from the last time I heard about something like this, if I recall it was a Wal-Mart bloodbath over an XBOX360.

Seriously people aren't nearly as civilized as we think we are.

I'm sorry for the girl that was left BLOODY. I was like "omg, r u serious?" I love the book too, but that's too much for just an autograph.

~*~**Everyone**~*~

I know! It is insane! It has definitely gotten way out of hand. Twilight isn't all of that bad, but still, come on. Seriously, think about it. This is getting ridiculous. This just goes to show how unsivalized Human Beings actually are, and it is kind of irritating if you ask me. We should have more common sense then that.

Were any of the fans trampled to death?

Because that'd be great.

That would be like Christmas, a birthday, and a visit from Bob Saget all wrapped in golden wrapping paper.

No, wait.

It would be even better.

And that's why you need to take levels in Cleric. Their Turn Undead ability would be priceless. Even against fangirls who think they're undead.
