Avatars

I like 'em as much as the next person, as well as making them. My concern is...perhaps there should be limits on the number of one character? I mean, there are 16 of Asuka, 12 of Belldandy, goodness knows how many of Chii, and so on.

Are all of these really necessary? I would find it more annoying than anything else...hunting through row after row of the *same* character, to find one picture of another. I propose setting a flexible limit of, say, 3 or 5 of a single character. I say flexible because I can see how a very popular character could need more in the future, or that fights could arise if the issue were pressed. However at the same time I think it could allow for far more variety as well as quality (Were the best few to be picked from a group of the same character, for example).

I suggested to Kaitou that we organize them by series and character, but they're weren't really a lot to sort when I made the first 200.

I kinda like having a bunch of avatars to choose from, but I think we should just organize them better.

Or just allow people to upload their custom avatars, if the current setup is going to cause actual fights. It must be pretty easy to do, WesLY (of the Gamer's Alliance) figured out how to do it.

The reason Kaitou doesn't allow that is because people would use that to get past the guidelines for the avatars. By either uploading pictures that aren't anime related, or p0rn.

If somebody's putting porn in their avatar, that's how you know whom to ban.

Although yes, it would result in non-anime related avatars. I use an image of Brian Mulroney at another anime forum xD

I agree.. They should be in catagorys by anime. I wouldn't mind doing that.

I wonder if Kaitou could figure out a way to have only moderators being able to see the "Staff" avatars and stuff like that. That way tons of users aren't using our personal avatars. Like how people were using Pooky's.

You should just allow people to put on their own avatars and if it isn't anime related then warn them then ban them if they continue...it's not too hard is it? it would make the whole originality thing a lot easier for everyone. And also then the moderators can't be the only ones with original avatars.

Custom avatars for users won't happen anytime soon. This is why Kaitou created the Anime Galleries avatar program, to make your own avatar. Add text to it, I don't care. You're free to do a lot of things.

Like I told someone on Tmdc. The only difference between our avatars and other users is that ours goes into another section. *Points to my avatar* Don't you think if this was in the girls section, other people would use it? Yes. The only thing keeping them from doing that, is it's in the staff section. And then again - People can STILL use it. Get in trouble for it, but they can.
