What is Hot Bot/Google Bot?

HotBot, like GoogleBot and others just mean that a particular search engine is currently spidering the site. That is -very- good, as the more spiders go through a site, the higher it's position on a search engine.

Why should I register?
The administrators have required you to register before you can post replies or new threads on the board. There are a lot of reasons for this. First of all, it allows you to edit and delete your own posts. Secondly, it prevents anybody else from posting messages under your name and damaging your reputation. Lastly, it allows the administrators to prevent beligerent individuals from ruining the message board experience for everybody by posting inappropriate or objectionable material.
Look, you didn't hear it from me, but your personal information is also sold to evil sorcerers who are then able to use it to consume your immortal soul. That's top secret, though, so don't tell anybody.

Are cookies used?
Cookies are used all the time. Moderators will often offer them as incentive to good behavior towards the regular members. The cookies are often poisoned, however, and at the very least will give you terrible gas.
You can get rid of those nasty cookies by clicking the log out link on the forums summary page

Can I edit my own posts?
To edit or delete your posts, just click the (edit/delete) icon by your post. If your post was the first in the thread, then deleting your post will result in the removal of the whole thread. It should be kept in mind, however, that everybody saw your mistake, and is laughing at you behind your back.
