This RPG has now run it's full course. It's been a lot of fun. I'm not sure if it's nearly as fun to read as it was to play, but I'm sure people wouldn't mind it if you went through it! Note that I was trying out a playstyle here where I GMed through PMs instead of posting in the thread, so it looks like players are coming up with most everything.

For quick future reference here are some events most people on the island would have at least heard about through news reports.

EVENT #1: One event the character of any new player should know about is the "night of madness". This was very recent in Kapok and featured a number of shifters that wound up doing a lot of damage. Though people have scetchy info on it. Seems there were some rampaging wolves, a hostage situation with a greek god, a large fire, and some scary things in the sky. Plus a couple murders that shifters are accused of.

EVENT #2: Another is the mass protests that occurred one day, in which the university library was burned down in an incident with some shifters. Eventually the governor promised to "do everything he can" about the shifter problem, including bringing in some outside help from the US, and then threatened massive legal action against any further protests that are remotely violent. The protesters have been mostly inactive since. But tensions remain.

EVENT #3: Sifters have stayed in the news reports. Shortly after the day of the protests the military struck back. Taking out a den of vicious werewolves, displaying the camera footage from the attacking drone. A couple days later more violence makes the news as a number of buildings are reported to have burned down because of shifters fighting with each other. But what everyone wanted to know is if the shifters or military would dare spoil red day and white day.
See
http://www.animeforum.com/showthread.php?p=2185073&highlight=valentines#post2185073
for info on those.

EVENT #4 Red and White day passed without major disasters.

EVENT #5 However the day after white day has the island approaching a panic as animals with shifter abilities have been attacking people.

Anyone watching the TV or listening to the radio from here on out today will find it's almost entirely focused on the animal attacks through the city. Reporting what has happened. Updating one where dangerous animals are known to be.

Plenty of reporters are asking what happened. Others have figured out that the creatures seem like they came from the Zoo, and that phone lines into the zoo seem to be down. However they note that the military, for some reason, is not moving into the zoo area. And instead seems to be forming a very wide perimiter or are focusing on specific animals in town.

EVENT #6 It isn't clear what happened but the Zoo situation was resolved. Something about a strange catgirl.

But later that night a massive fight between sifters broke out downtown, with many buildings destroyed.

As dawn broke on that day, the fighting shifters dispersed before a cloud of military shifters started sweeping the city.

(Magic Mixer had multiple possible endings depending on what players did. The ending that occured was the "military develops the ability to create shifters" ending.)

Some locations people have been using:

There is a bookstore where Valkarma's character Kairos works.

Around Kapok there are a large number of parks in the city full of, you guessed it, Kapok trees. Some of the characters hang out there sometimes, or duck into them. One of them was the site of a battle between the national guard and some werewolf type shifters and is now blocked off by police tape, Reina's house is in another.

Kapok university. Most people are somehow associated with it. There is a library there where Temperance's character Roki worked until it got burned down in the protests. Now Luzifer's character Samael lurks in the charred frame.

Of course most players have a house or apartment.

A while ago after the night of madness lots of people partied on Longshore beach, one of a number of beutiful beaches on Kapok just off the edge of a wooded mountain.

Some shifters were being held in a facility in the warehouse district. It is now a pile of rubble.

Kapok, being formed as a volcanic island, has large mountains with ski slopes in the center. The "den" that was caved in was on the side of one of these.

The Kapok Zoo is located in the Kapok woods well outside the city limits, so that it could cheaply afford plenty of space for animals and for future growth. There are signs just before reaching the zoo by road blocking the way and saying that it's closed.

Aoki forest. One of the many parks on Kapok just outside the city, full of winding paths by the mountains in the center of the island. Popular both for the misty trails and also because when the sun is just right it can catch the mist coming off the mountains just right to get a rainbow on a sunny day.

Jean's house, which is down by the beach

Discussion on the playstyle and such should go on in the OOC thread
http://www.animeforum.com/showthread.php?p=2148766#post2148766

After this post everything in this thread should be in character.

The first objectives for all new characters are, in no particular order:
#1 initiate meeting one of the other players. This could either be in their alternate form or regular human form. You don't have to find out what their "real" identity is if you meet the alternate form, and you don't have to even know they're a shifter if you meet them in their "normal" form.

I can help with this for new players.

#2 Expand your character a little. Through your post reveal something new about your character to develop them slightly. This doesn't have to be earth shattering at all. Revealing that your characters favorit food is hamburgers would be sufficiant. Just flesh them out a little.

#3 interact with your NPC a little. Just to introduce them a bit more and getting you used to writing a little dialogue if you're new to this.

Obviously it may take a few posts to do all that. And at this point you might be injected right into some situation. So we'll play it by ear a bit.

Two things to keep in mind.

First, while your characters don't know it, shifters are subconsiously drawn to each other. So if a shifter walks onto a commuter train and looks around for a seat the odds they'd choose to sit by the only other shifter there aren't actually too bad. This can make meeting other players much easier.

Also remember there are those vigilanties out there. And some government agencies. If it becomes known that your character is a shifter there could be some trouble.

On the posting format just to keep things under control. There isn't a limit on posts per day, but don't advance time rapidly for your character. Try and stay within a day of most people.

If you're unsure what to do just shoot me a PM or post in the OOC thread.

Kairos kept pace as he walked down the street. He held a book in his left hand and a can of cola in his right. The heat was tiring this day and as he continued walking he could feel his feet burn from the ground.
He served his way between the people going down the street while avoiding losing his place in his book. The book he was reading was an interesting one. It was called 'Falling star' and was by an anonimous local. He was draw completly into its world. Even as he went by his local corner shop and the owner waved at him he gave no response.
He took another drink from his can and tossed the empty can into a near by bin. He did it without breaking his rythem at all. He had walked this route to work so many times that he knew were each bin lined the streets.
He finally got to where he wanted. Knowledge corner. As he stepped in and felt the cool breeze of the ventalation system he finally put the book down. He was up to page 102. He would finish it another time.
Picking up his work shirt he pulled of his current one and put it on.
"Good to see you on time" Called out the friendly voice of John.
"I am always" Karios replied. He got behind the counter and waited to great any costomers.

Sally opened the stomach of her piggybank and smiledi n delight 'i finally have enough for that catbook'. She had been saving her allowance for three months in order to get a book she wanted. Picking up the money she moved out of the house. Ashton sat ont the porch fixing a fishing net when she opened the door "ashton i am giong to the bookstore". ashton smiled "just be on time for dinner i know how distracted you can be if you find cats". Sally laughed and ran off to the bookstore when she was out of sight Ashton face fell and he sighed looking at the cat that laid on a pillow beside him "I hope her memories wont return to her Helper, i am not sure what to do if they do..". The black and white cat just opend a eye and yawned.

Sally entered the bookstore calmer now being shy her energy when she left the house had dimmed. she blushed when she saw Karios behind the counter and went to the animal section.

Kairos was daydreaming away when he heard the door to the shop open. Standing there was a young girl. He noticed she had pretty green eyes and for a moment was quite transfixed by her. She looked back at him and then blushed, walking on to the animal section of the bookstore. Karios took a deep breath. he was normally a quiet boy but when surrounded by these books he felt so much more at ease.
But it still took him a few moments to gather the courage to go talk. He stepped out from the counter and managed to fall over a pile of books laid there. He looked up quick to see if she had noticed and thankfully she hadn't. He pulled himself up and brush off the dust. Then picking up the books and putting them on a near by table he walked over to the girl.
She was looking though the C section of the animals. Karios guessed she was a cat person, she had that soft feel to her. As she reached up to get a book it fell from her grip and Kairos quickly reach out and grabbed it. He smiled at her,
"May I help you?"

Sally sought through the booksection and heard something fall but didn't look back. Seeing the book she wanted she grabbed it only to causing it to fall since it was a set a little higher than her height. she blushes when she sees Kairos holding the book and asking if he could help. With red cheeks she took the book from him "i.. i would like this book please.." she nervously smoothed her skirt whil looking at Kairos.

Kairos watched her face light up red. He was positive that his face was lighting up too but he couldn't be sure. She was very pretty with her silver hair and smile. He smiled back at her,
"Sure thing. I'm Kairos by the way." He walked over to the counter with her. She was still flustering about and he was being careful not to fall over somthing again. He scanned the book and handed it to her. She gave him the money and he felt slightly dizzy when he felt her touch. This dizzyness was unatural. It was the same feeling as what had happened on that night.
He noticed that he had just been looking at the money for a few moments now and the girl looked quite confused. He carefully put it into the counter and shut it. Then looking up at her he said,
"S..Sorry. Is there anything else you would like?"

Sally smiled and followed him at the register "i am sally..i live with fisher Ashton" she paid and smiled when he touched and felt odd for a moment as something vague seemed to try and push forward "don't do it sally" and she thought she heard a splash. she blinks as Kairos looked at her embarrased "no..no sorry i sometimes space out ashton al..always looks worried when that happens though". as far as she could remember ashton never looked happy when she had these moments "i.. i lost my memory and Ashton found me at sea, so i don't really remember my life before the island..". she fiddles with her skirt "so..sometimes i think the idea of regaining my memory scares ashton because it probely means i wil leave..". She waasent sure she was telling him this but he seemed trustable.

Kevin was walking along the sidewalk, looking around him. Every was completely fine. He saw a bookstore and stopped to think. Will this bookstore actually have a book on the field of Lycanthropy? If so, then I will be coming here instead. He walked in, gave a smile to the store clerk and this girl he had never known and walked to the "L" section of the shelves. He felt a beat in his chest and quickly collapsed, holding himself and saying, "I promised only once a week. I promised...only once a week. I can hold out..."

Such a good book, why oh why did pearls have to be dragged from piles of dung? He seemed perfectly calm, and at first he had been, but then those two idiots had started talking. Blush and flirt like a pair of children trying to break out from under the pall of cooties into the flush of sexuality. Only they were his age, maybe older. Which meant they were just pathetic.

Then she started talking about her past and well, that was about all his fragile self-restraint could take, "Be quiet!" he snapped sharply, but in a hushed tone to avoid interrupting the others that might be reading, "buy the book, go to a cafe and flirt their. Or just finish it by going to the park and ducking behind the hedges! Whatever you do just be quiet so other people can read without have to listen to your insipid conversation."

With that he turned away, instantly calming and walking to the section of philosophy. Tragically he couldn't find the Bertrand Russel book he had wanted but he had learned to accept that and was now trying to find something by an existentialist. Maybe Sartre. In any case, it had to be under twenty dollars. His food and book budget was 100 dollars a week, leaving him very little money to buy books even if he skipped meals, which he did. His parents never sent him a lot, but then, he never asked for more. He wasn't about to bother them with his problems and have to deal with talking to them. Not like they seemed to be particularly annoying. But Samael had too much pride to beg for petty from strangers. And his parents were nothing if not strangers to him.

Kevin started banging on the bookshelf for help as books started falling from the other side of the bookshelf. He held his hands close to his chest as the condition grew stronger. Please, help me...someone. Get me the temporary cure for this. Oh god, I wish someone would heed my indirect cries for help. These were his thoughts as he closed his eyes tight and kicked another bookshelf several times, books falling off on the other side as well.

Hana sat in the chair, the book resting in her lap. She dozed off alittle but caught herself as she started to fall over. Ever since she started studying into late hours of the night, she has had the energy to do anything. There has to be another way to study that also allowed sometime for sleep.

Suddenly, a large pile of books fell off the bookshelf, causing Hana to jump from her seat. There was something wrong but she couldn't figure out what it was. She could feel it, though.

She walked around the bookshelf and there he was. He had black hair and seemed very strong yet he was falling to the fall as she watched. She ran over not quite sure what to do. Reaching out to help him, there was something about him that didn't seem...right. But, right then, that didn't matter.

As much as she didn't want to, she called out. "Help!!"

Kairos listened intently to sally. She seemed so sad as she spoke.
"I wouldn't think that way. He should know that since he raised and protected you that you wouldn't just leave him." He smiled at her which seemed to cheer her up slightly. Kairos went to go say something more but a new costomer interrupted him blurting out insult to the pair of them. Kairos felt quite embaressed.
Suddenly without notice his eyes changed colour for a moment and he heard a banging in the distance and a call. Next he was back in front of Sally. Then he heard the banging again this time accompanyed by someone shouting for help. He glanced to John who nodded his head. Kairos darted over the counter and next to the sally.
He held both of her hands and looked her straight in the eyes for a moment. He felt transixed for a moment and was sure he could here voices in his head ones he had never heard before. they were saying something like 'don't do it' but he couldn't make it out. He suddenly snapped back as he let go and he said to her,
"Please wait here a moment. I will have to see what is going on and it may be dangerous."
With that he dived between book piles and shelves to get to where the calling was from. He found a girl standing over a man who seemed in agony. "Whats going on?"

"rare...s-s-steak..." Kevin murmured as he started sweating heavily, slowly feeling his hunger pains rise up. It's been three years since I suffered this much from the hunger. I can't fall now, not after the length of time I survived for. Just a little longer...I need bloody meat, that's all. Just a steak cooked rare will suffice, as long as it's nice and bloody. Those were his thoughts as he shook, reaching his hand out for this girl's hand for comfort. He looked up at her with tears in his waterdrop-blue eyes and clutched his hands to his chest some more, returning his head in and down towards him.

When he reached for her hand, Hana began to panic.

"R-rare steak?" She found the request odd, but she knew she needed to get it for him. At first, she couldn't move. She felt glued to where she was standing. Then, with determination, she dropped his hand, "Rare steak?! Where am I suppose to get that?"

She started to panic even more and before she knew it, her arms were swinging about. "We need rare steak! Anyone have any?!"

Hana usually wasn't the type to shout in front of people, but when she was stressed, it didn't matter. She wasn't sure what to do and she looked to the boy who just arrived. "What do I do?"

Samael sighed to himself as people started making noise. With a deliberately loud thump, he slammed the book he had been reading into its proper place on the bookshelf. It was too loud. Nothing could be learned with this racket.

He ran a finger along his temple as he walked out of the bookstore. He pushed through the other people that walked along the streets letting his own thoughts sheath him in a protective bubble. He drifted down the street thinking his own thoughts, reformatting philosophical arguments to himself and poking gently at the sleeping form wisdom. Truth reclined herself in his mindscape, hair bleeding down in white rivers acorss skinned blackened by the torches of lesser beings. And speaking about lesser...

Samael's bubble popped. " You be hearin' 'bout this?" Samael cringed at the malformed English being spewed across the air. Samael took great pride in the fact that, despite not being his mother tongue, he had full command of the English language and spoke without even a trace of an accent. These people, three men from the islands near Kapok, had been raised on english yet still seemed unable to speak it properly. Their sloth annoyed him, but it wasn't how they were speaking but WHAT they were saying that truly chaffed at him.

"Of course, I 'ave. Who ain't 'ave 'eard of this? Its been on da new for but years."

"This spirit stuff be scary. You think they be devils? That this be the work of Satan?"

"I don't be knowin' but I think that its possible. These be bad times. Should 'ave seen it coming when that thing exploded."

"Yeah... in... Solerno?"

"aye, that. Took out half a city I hear."

"Be...quiet." The word grated across Samaels throat like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other. These people new not what they were talking about. "First, this spirit drivel is nothing but fanciful non-sense perpetuated by idiots such as yourselves who refuse to cultivate your minds and instead cling to comforting delusions. Your ethos is but some frail thing that begs to some false idol for comfort. Second, the accident at the Solerno super-collider has nothing to do with the present delusions of men. It was an accident, nothing more. So go take year hideous colloquialisms and keep them stowed safely in your mouth where they can never harm the ears of those who have the misfortune of being near you."

"Rare steak?" Kairos was confused by this request. However the girl seemed to be telling the truth. She was panicing enough for it to seem real. But where could he get a steak?...Of course.
"Wait here. John lives in the back rooms I'll go check his kitchen." Kairos darted off to the back rooms, tripping over some obvious books as he went, but he kept his balance. He got the kitchen quickly and began to looked around for some steak. Lucky for him John had resently gone shopping and was full up on stock. After a few moments he found some. It didnt looking too rare more a medium rare. It had be previously cooked so it was going cold now, but he wasn't going to argue a simple points like that.
He picked it up and took it back to the girl.
"Here give this to him. Don't worry about it either I'm sure John doesn't mind giving it away if it means that it will save someone." He watched the girl give it to the boy. He didn't understand what was going on but so long as he was in the shop it was his responsibility to be there for the costomers.
He then remembered about Sally. He didn't want to just leave her by the counter. He wanted to get to know her better.
"I'll leave this fellow to you. If anything more shows up just call out again." Kairos said as he went off to the counter again. He hoped Sally had stayed.

Aidith was waiting outside the university for Ichi appear. The blistering sun made it more the worse. Why was he taking so long to exit? Finally he walked out, saying goodbye to his friend. Aidith waited until he was a fair distance away. When he was, she started following him. She was very sly - after a couple of months, he'd never noticed her once. It seemed kind of stalkerish but this guy... Ichi... he had something important. Could he really have it? Fighting is her life, for Aidith was put on the Earth to fight evil spirits away. She had been bestowed with a magical sword, especiialy made for fighting the evil spirits which lurk in this world. It seemed by fate or not that she had been placed in Kapok Bay to fight. This is all she knows. Great - where is he going? Aidith thought to herself when she saw him enter a bookstore. Books are for those who wish to fight and are too cowardly to do so. This was Aidith's opinion. She waited a fair bit then entered the store, glancing around for Ichi. What in the world? Aidith didn't need someone to draw her a picture. Something was wrong in this store. The innocent faces on these customers... she eyed the sales clerk - even he seemed unusual. These people... they had some sort of special aura. She eyed Ichi at the back of the store. It wasn't him that he sensed. No, he was merely a normal human with something that Aidith needs. She closed the door of the store and as the bell tinkled, everyone glanced up at her.

sally had standing blushing at the males comment for like 5 minutes. When a thump was hear she looked that was curiously for a few moment when Kairos told her to stay put. she nodded and watched as he walked away, something started to twitch in her however when the agony screams started. She spaced out again 'let me be in control' "who are you?" 'if he attacks someone the wounds can be severe, please for the safety of the others'. On the outside world her skirt had already had changed to skintight pants and her eyes were slitted. she looked at Kairos and gave him a kind smile.

Kevin got up and smelled the steak while thinking, The amount of blood in here will suffice and it should keep me going for about 4 days rather than a week since it's not completely rare.. With due speed, he snatched the steak with his teeth and let the urge be satisfied as his irises turned red and his primal hunger allowed him to rip the steak piece by piece voraciously.

Taking a deep breath, he looked up at the girl, eyes slowly turning back from blood red to waterdrop blue again and blood trailing from his lips due to the steak. He looked directly into her eyes and in a not too deep but not too light voice, he said, "Thank you, young lady. Any longer and I don't know what would've happened. Did you have help in finding the steak? You don't seem to be the type to cook it so that means someone else must have. Bring me the person who found the steak, please."

Hana was in shock. She watched as the man before her ate the rare steak quickly. It seemed odd but she swore she saw his eyes change a different color. But she knew that wasn't possible.

When he thanked her, she blushed, "Your welcome, but I didn't help much. I just paniked." She rubbed the side of her, which was throbbing with all the yelling and jumping around she did. "I'll go get you the clerk since he helped out the most." Hana just hoped he hadn't gone to far. She got to her feet and walked to the front of the store.

Kairos was almost skipping as he went back to go see Sally. That girl had given him some home in this darkering world. He wanted to at least to see her once more. As he got around the corner he could see her standing and waiting. She smiled at him. He went to raise his hand to call for her when he was stopped. It was John.
"Careful boy." He said.
"What do you mean?" Kairos inquired.
"Are you blind boy? look she has changed." John replied.
Sure enough now he focused he saw that he had been so stupid to notice the obvious change. She was clothed different and her eyes had lost the sly look and became slited with a more stronger look behind them.
"Whats going on?" he asked John.
"I don't know but you know she could be a shifter." John said. Kairos froze at the thought. "No!" he thought, "Please no they are dangerous" He clutched himself in fear, "what if it happened again?" he thought. He looked at her. She still seemed the same girl that had captivated him before but she look more dangerous now. He finally summed up the energy to say something to her.
"What happened to you?" he asked Sally.

Getting up, Kevin dusted his military fatigues off and said, "Whichever of you got the steak, thank you. Allow me the pleasure of an introduction. I am Kevin Maxford or "Beta" as some call me. You guys saw me on the ground so I should tell you of my condition. I study Lycanthropy which would explain why I was in the "L" section of this bookstore. I had what were called hunger pains where for some reason, if uncontrolled or past my grasp, I will try to kill the nearest living thing in an attempt to get meat fresh with blood. If I don't have meat with blood in it, I could possibly go into a frenzy. For some reason, in a fight, normally I would just kill my opponent without regard for emotion but for some reason, I have become merciful but I will still put them close to death. I need bloody meat in intervals. Rare meat with a good amount of blood in it will last me around a week. Seeing as this was medium rare, this will tide me over for about three to four days. All I need is one piece of meat. It doesn't matter what kind as long as it's bloody. It should be at least the size of one of those books." He went to pick up the book on Lycanthropy and separated it from the pile of books beside him to start putting them away. "We should probably get this cleaned up so that I can check out this book."

Kairos gripped his head in agony. Images flashed across his mind. They were off a battle. Of a swirling vortex the rejected everything. Then of life being lost. But he couldn't make out the details. He felt his body go limp and hit the floor. Then darkness covered his world for a moment.
However he could here voices. He reconised some of them. It was John. And Sally. He struggled to open his eyes. The pair of them was looking down on him with concern. It was then he realised he was lying on top of a pile of softback books.
"lucky me" He thought. He gazed up at them as his eyes got into focus. It took more time again just like it always did.
"You know. You have beautyful eyes." he said without thinking.
"Well I hope you mean this girl there lad." John joked. Kairos laughed. It hurt his chest a moment.
"I was" Kairos said. They both helped him to his feet. He still felt dizzy.
"Listen Kairos. Why don't you take the rest of the day off." John said, "You can go with this girl and wonder around town. Don't worry about the store." He pointed at the man who was suffering from before. Kairos could remember hearing his voice and something about him. "This young lad says he will help tidy up the mess. Now go."

Sally wasent sure what was giong on but the boy fainted and maybe some sea air would do him good "sure lets go see ashton". Grabbing Kairos hand she blushed but tugged him along anyway to the sea cottage. On the porch Ashton was stil fixing the fishing net. He raised a brow at kairos and chuckled "Sally you said you were gonna get a book not a boyfriend". Sally blushed at the comment amd muttered something "but as long as you feed him, bath him and clean up after you can keep him". Sally turned completly red and Ashton bursted out laughing.

Rain was in the bakery. Gramps was really watching him today. Since last night he did something he wasn't suppose to, again. He placed his finger on his cheek where he had been cut. Rain was abused again by kids his age and he fought back. In a way he shouldn't.
Rain placed some fresh baked bread on the rack for customers to buy. Rain looked at his grandfather who seemed to be buzzing with happiness or annoyance.
Rain sighed a bit.
There was a part of him edging to kill and another edging him to smile and be happy.

The moment Kevin turned around, he noticed the woman and one of the men were gone. "I'm going to take a guess and say your name is...John?" He said to the guy still beside him. His thoughts came back to him. That girl and other guy who were here before, who are they and who is this girl who asked for the steak? Maybe I should talk with her.

OOC: The red is John. The Yellow is Kairos

"Thank you very much young lad." John said. "You said your name is Kevin right?" He picked up the book on Lycanthropy. "You have this on the house along with that steak of mine." John laughed. He handed back the book. He then walked off to go to the back but paused.
"Hey you say you like rare steak? How about you come to the back and i'll cook you up one." He smiled to Kevin. A part of his mind reacted to the guy just like it had Kairos and even Sally. They all had that same uniqueness that defined them. Maybe this boy was a shifter too, or maybe he was just paranoid. "I also apoligize for my friend there. He is always looking forward." John chuckled at the joke, knowing Kevin wouldn't get it. "Or right now I think that girl has captivated his heart. His name is Kairos if you go looking for him, but don't be shocked if he knows your coming he had a sharp mind." He waved Kevin across,
"so you want that steak?"

Kairos was blushing quite a bit. He bowed and said, "It is nice to meet you sir." He was still gripping Sally's hand. If was oft to touch and he liked the feel. However he was scared but not trying to show it. She was a shifter like him. But she was so different. He was worried though. She had shifted in a quite puplic area, what if someone went after her. He could escape anyone but she didn't have the same abilities as him.
He smiled at her and whispered, "Maybe we should go somewhere quiet and private." He hoped she wouldn't take it wrong. He didn't know how she felt. In fact he was unsure himself but something felt wrong and he had to get her out of public view.
"Do you want to go then?" he asked her.

Ashton smiled a kairos but raised a brow when he started to whisper 'hmm maybe he is another shifter, i hope he can fight seeing that Sally is a healer type'. He smiled at them "sally why don't you show him you room, maybe he would like to see your collection of cat figurings". Sally blushed at the whispers but nodded to Ashton "come Kairos" and she pulled the boy into the house. Ashton smiled and looked back at the sea a frown marred his face 'that ship has been around rather often..' in the distant a rather larg ship was drifting on the waters. In Sally room she pointed to a large table thats was littered with cat statue's "thats a tabby and thats a siamees but this one is my favorite". she picked up a ordinairy black and white cat statue and showed it to kairos "it reminds me of Helper" she smiled at him. Helper just looked at them and yawned turning on his other side.

Hana stopped as she saw the girl change right in front of her. She was a shifter! It was a amazing to see and Hana was glad to know she wasn't completely alone. Being a shifter and all, she made sure no one too close to her. She didn't want them getting hurt.

The man from before came around, apologizing and told about his condition. Hana was a little taken back but there was something about him she was sure that was different, but in a good way. Him and the man from the front of the store began talking. When the bookstore owner offered to talk in the back, Hana knew she wanted to go along.

She grabbed the arm of the man who collapsed before she could stop herself, "Um, if you go with him, can I come? I'd like to know more about you." She blushed, a little nervous. "By the way, my name's Hana."

Kairos smiled. Sally was cute when she was smiling. Her collection was quite vast which normally some people might find wierd and obessive. But Kairos could tell she was a cat person from when he first say her. He went to go say something when he felt a small tear flow down his face. "Tears of joy? How childish I must look." He thought. He wipped it away with his sleeve, however he looked down to see it wasn't tears. It was blood.
"No not now" he thought. She couldn't see him like this. But it was to late she turned to see the blood flowing down his face. She reached forward to help him or something but he pushed her back.
"No! Don't touch me right now." he called. The pain in his head was becoming heavier. He then began to cry too.
"I'm sorry." He whimpered, "I was going to tell you but I've messed that up now." He tried to look at her. Her form was blurred and hazed by the blood and water. "Forgive me."

Kairos fell to his knees. The world had gone black now and he could feel the cold wind beggining to wrap around him. His clothes molded and formed into a loose full body robe that made its way around his body. It twisted and turned around his cold form creating his image.
His hands and feet became weak and light. He then rose like a puppet suspended by strings. His body was loose and dangled, swaying slighty in the breeze surrounding him. It was like an unknown hand had pulled him up by his strings. His face was pointing to the ground and his breath had slowed.
The hood of the robe was soon finished and with it, the whole thing. His blacken form was only overshadowed by the white of his hair and skin.
"Time and space are but the stage of life." he began to mumble,
"The beings that exist are the characters of the play." his voice began to rise.
"Life is the tune that they dance before." His voice became deep.
"All that watch the play are blind to the strings." Kairos began to raise his head.
"I hold the strings. I play the tune. I see the truth." He said as his head came in level with hers.
His eyes gazed at her. The blood had stopped and disappeared. His right eye had became completly black. His left completly white. None of them had Pupils. The world had became a clear passage. Present to the right, future to the left.
"Laus deus" he said calmly. "Laus Deus"

He then smiled and turned to Hana, saying, "With John's permission, you may come with us to the back.". He then started closing his eyes and thought about that steak. "Sure you can all come to the back." He signalled to a young women that was in the shop.
"If anything you like shows up please knock on the back door for me. Thank you." He then guided Kevin and Hana to the kitchen at the back. When he got in he offered both of them a glass of water and got to making the steak for Kevin. It was quiet for a moment.
"So...I assume you saw what happened before?" He placed the steak on a plate and handed it to Kevin. He then sat down looking at both of them.
"So what are you going to do?"

Kairos smiled a knowing smile. He could see what would happen if they stayed any longer. The images were clear as day to him. He didn't want the girl to go through such hardship. He brushed past the girl and to the window. He pushed it open with little ease and pointed out of it.
"Fate is only set for those who can't see. I am not one of them." He looked at the girl.
"I am to assume I can still refere to you as Sally?" He looked her up and down. She seemed capable of running. "We need to be leaving. Pack up what is important to you. This place is no longer safe." He climbed out of the window. He then looked back in. Soon he found himself holding his hand out for her again.
"Life is full of choices. You made one before to take my hand, I hope you didn't regret it. Now you must make it again. Follow me and discover what is yet to come. Or stay and watch what is to fall." He pulled his hood up to cover his eyes and face. To a passer by it might have looked like death was tempting her out but it was quite the oppisite. Kairos was hoping she would choose him, he wanted to protect her so much.
"So what is your choice?"

Rain spoke mechanically, but it had nothing to do with him reading a script or anything else.
Rain had the hardest time making emotion come out of his mouth. He just stared at her and as long as he stared he could almost hear her heartbeat. There must be a lot of blood in there. Lots and lots of blood. It made Rain almost ravenous, but at the same time it didn't make him want to react at all.

Samael leaned against a lamp post, his formerly blue shirt now splotched purple with his blood. His hand covered his nose as best he could but there was a limit to how much it could contain and a steady dribble fell to the ground. The two islanders had moved along, leaving him here to bleed and lick his wounds. Or perhaps to savor the great glory of people passing him by, sparing him a glance, and then realizing they had more important things elsewhere. No friendly hand came to him and for that he was thankful, the last thing he wanted was anyone's pity. For all his life he had walked alone, and he could stand back up by himself.

Only he couldn't. The last blow and the loss of blood combined to leave him dizzy. Not that he had yet tried to right himself but he wasn't about to try and look a fool as he stumbled and possibly fell. No, he would wait until he was absolutely sure he could actually stand with some facsimile of ease.

Until then he could only sit and give off an aura annoyance and unfriendliness.

This was a disgusting feeling. Helplessness. But more than that there was scorn just oozing from those who passed him. They were laughing! Half hidden giggle and smug 'at least I'm not him's being past betwixt them. This was a low moment in his life. From an objective stand point it was the lowest. If you judge in terms of his relation to the world at no point then this had he ever been quite as much a failure. However, subjectively, within the self-same internal relation, this was not his lowest. That had been... the Palermo incident the two men had been talking about. Which perhaps was why he had lost his calm.

He stewed their for a few minutes before finally mustering the effort to stand. Walking of quickly so that no one would follow him he walked to the park and walked over to the bathroom where he washed the blood off his face before stepping out and heading back to his room. He had had enough of this day.

Taking another sip, Kevin put his glass down and said, "It's strange but I have this condition where once a week, I must eat meat cooked rare with a nice amount of blood in it. If I go too long without the meat, I start going into my almost uncontrollable urge. I was in the military for three years and came back here a couple months ago. I hadn't noticed the urge coming on until just a while ago since the mess hall kept me well fed. This uncontrollable urge, if it breaks past my resistance, I will probably go into a frenzy, killing, most likely, the nearest living thing so that I can get some fresh, bloody meat. It's to satisfy the urge and for nourishment since I also drink water, juice, soda and alcohol like almost everyone of legal age does. As for what made me this way...I'm not at liberty to say. It's a need-to-know basis only. I'm sorry."

They both began running.
"Two simple rules right now" Kairos said as they dashed between ways.
"One is never stop running unless I say." He signalled that they should turn left.
"Second is always follow me. Obvious or not I will get us away." He darted down an alley way. Sally was keeping pace, her annoying cat was a pain though. What it mean lovey-dovey stuff? Was that what this was? Kairos shook his head now was not the time. He shifted his head to the side to avoid a fly that was to impact with his face. Then he saw a cross way coming up. He summoned his energy and his white eye began to turn in its socket. Images flooded his brain and he focused his energy on what was ahead. If the turned left they would find a dead end and lose. If they went stright ahead innocents would get involved. Right was the best at the moment as there was no certaincy of being caught.
His black eye then began to rotate. The pursuers were behind them and had saw them run. He could make out there faces but they weren't going to stop anytime soon. He signaled to the right with his hand and the pair of them went right.
In that moment his black eye showed him that the people chasing them were blind to them. His white eye then ran in unison and spotted a hiding place. He stopped just in front of it and grabbed her by the arm. He then pushed her into a gap between the buildings, before squeezing in himself.
He held his breath and waited. His eye predicted that they would pass but recently something had been messing with it. It must have been that vortex he saw in the other vision. He closed his eyes and took power away from them, it would reduce the damage.
He then opened them. He only noticed at that moment that he was pressed up against Sally. He was sweating at that moment. He hadn't predicted this. Thoughts ran through his mind as he looked at her. Even if she had two personailities she was still pretty and to him the same person. And her body felt soft. But a quick smack of her cats tail snapped him out of it and he stepped away and out of the passage.
"Laus Deus, we survived that." he said. he turned to her. "Do you have anywhere we can go? Somewhere safe were he can hide from the pursuers?"

How could she have been so careless as to let him catch her staring. It had to have been one of the most embarressing things to happen to her in a month. She played with the hem of her skirt. What if he found out about her secret. After all, she went through so much hiding it from everyone.

She could sense the wind change directions. Something bad was either happening or going to happen. Instead of reacting, she sighed, "So, you'll be alright now, right?" Kevin looked at it and smiled saying, "It looks so good right now. Thanks, John for everything.". He then looked at Hana with another gleam and one of the warmest smiles you could ever see and whispered in her ear, "You're trying to resist but you aren't doing that well of a job. After I'm done eating, what do you say you accompany me to my place of work? We could talk there before I have to clock in. Aidith had stood in the doorway of the bookstore, feeling a certain atmosphere about those inside. "I have not time to hang out and read." She thought and she glimpes one last look at Ichi. He looked up from the book he was reading and their eyes met. Aidith froze. "This is the first time he's ever noticed me." She returned to her senses and ran out of the store past an alleyway. She could've sworn she saw a cat-like human... "A shifter?!" Aidith didn't know that there were other shifters here except for her. Maybe there were more than she thought. She didn't know if she should approach them - she wouldn't usually do this but... Suddenly they looked at her. Her face flushed and she hid behind the building. Footsteps were heard from behind. It was Ichi and he was... following her?! Aidith started running towards a park then suddenly she had bumped into someone. OOC:... okay this post will need a little retooling until i can bring it inline with MusicxLove's post

Samael leaned on the guard rail letting the breeze blow against him. His head still hurt and he decided to just stand awhile until the pain passed. There was something numbing about the cool oceanic breeze, perhaps the salinity drain him of all thought and feeling.

"Have we seen better days?"

Samael looked over at the man had spoke. The man was taller than him and clearly older. His black hair was flecked with enough gray to create the feeling of experience but not so much that he appeared to have lost any of his keenness both of mind and of sense. In his hand was the leash to a large black dog. It was a short hair breed, very similar to a doberman save with a longer tail.

"Such is the fate of the noble and enlightened... to be beaten by the armed and dumb." Samael didn't hide the venom in his voice. But it was idle. He had no desire nor intent to make use of his ire but rather to nurse until such time as it festered into a frothing fury breaking in the form of a feverish dream.

The man chuckled dryly as he pushed his thick glassl "Clever. You are from the local university I take it?"

"There abouts..."

"Not from the island by your lack of accent. American?"

"No, Malta"

"Near Sicily? On the Mediterranean?" Samael nodded in response, "Well, you learned how to speak English really well. An history or art major I assume?"

"No, Physics and Philosophy."

"Physics?" the man smirked slightly, "You certainly aren't the typical Mediterranean intellectual. Your generation hasn't had much in the way of scientists since..."

"The Salerno incident. I know."

"And more and more have become obsessed with the notion of 'spirits'. First, the great failure of modern science and then the emergence of something altogether separate from rational cognizance. I can't imagine what you must think about so complicate a topic." The man leaned against the guard rail near him looked out across the sky towards the distant and horizonless ocean.

"I don't have any thoughts on the matter. One cannot have rational thoughts about that which does not exist. At best, people develop mere thought-dreams towards this spirit nonsense, at worst its full on delusion. They bend their perceived reality towards some internal maxim that has as its determining ground a feverish miss conception. I have no desire to judge lies. Whats the point in that?"

"Well, I am actually something of a scholar myself", the man said pulling out one of those PDAs that business types often had with them. "And I was curious as to whether I could get contact information so that if I need help with the various... facilities here, you would be able to provide me with the requisite assistance."

Samael sighed for a moment, he gave him his real name but said he didn't have a phone nor email, which he did not. So that if the man wanted him he'd have to come by his dorm. Samael was not the sociable type and didn't like giving people more ways to bother him than was strictly necessary.

He eventually got away from the odd man and went off on his own, once more heading towards his home. He pushed through the crowd to get out when he felt something thump hard against his chest pushing him back and toppling him to the ground. He sat their and looked up. There was someone standing over him. It was girl of an age with him. Normally he'd be a bit more annoyed but at this point he had completely resigned himself to this being an awful day and his voice showed it in a dull and obtuse annoyance. "Ugh... watch it." He noticed that she was looking at him rather oddly, "Can I help you or are you practicing your human pinball impression? I really don't have time for this so keep it quick."

Hana took Kevin's hand and as she did she felt a knot in her stomach. She still couldn't explain what was going on but she just knew that things weren't normal. Before she left, she nodded a thank you and good bye John, who smiled as they left.

It was weird, walking beside a man she barely knew, especially one like Kevin. In the past few hours, she acting more outgoing to a complete stranger then she had in her whole life. She felt good, almost normal.

Then, she realized it, what if she changed while he was there? She wouldn't be able to explain it. She hated how she had no control over how it happened. Too much stress seemed to be a factor but she could never be sure. All she could do was act as normal as she could and pray she didn't change.

That's when the question popped into her head. She knew she might be regretting it later but...

"Um, I wanted to ask...but when you first saw me, did you think about hurting me. I mean, 'cause of your condition and all." She took a nervous deep breath, "I know it's nothing for me to ask, but I needed to." She looked into his amazing blue eyes and started to regret asking already.

Not surprised by the question, Kevin responded, "No, I wouldn't go for you. I usually go for those with more meat on their bones, no offense of course. Let's keep walking as we are almost at the school." He walked to the door and courteously allowed Hana to pass. "After you, Hana."

Hana walked through the door into the air conditioning. "I-I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not." She muttered to herself. Inside, though, she was glad he said no. She wasn't quite sure what she would have done if had said 'yes'.

The whole day had been quite an experience. Just yesterday, she had been begging for something exciting to happen. She was sitting at her desk in the cramped backroom of the computer repair shop, sighing every three minutes. Of course, she knew her life would be different if she wasn't so shy. But, she couldn't help it.

She began to wonder about Kevin as she walked beside him down the hallway. What was it about him that made her blush everytime she talked to him? It had something to do with his eyes. She'd never seen a color blue like that before. And why was she going to a strange place with him? She couldn't trust someone she barely knew, right? That was the problem. She did trust him.

All these questions and no answers. She let out a long sigh. She thought too much...

"Ahh, here we are, the cafeteria. Oh Anna!! Kevin is here and I brought someone with me!" Kevin said as he pulled Hana with him over to his workplace. He stopped before Anna, the head of the lunch area and smiled as she replied with a, "Kevin, so nice to see you again and you brought a cute girl with you. I knew you had it in you to someday find one to call your own and now look at you. Anyway, who is she and what is she doing back here? I've never seen her before.". Kevin smiled and said, "This girl is Hana and she is cute and very sweet but we aren't going out. I might consider it though. She's here because I figured we could get her a job here and we could teach her how to cook food much better."

Anna thought for a moment and said, Sure why not, let's get her changed so that you can teach her. You will have to serve people as you are not allowed to see a girl unclothed. It's not proper in a work situation. Come on, Hana. I have a uniform, gloves and hairnet ready for you in the back.". She then proceeded to take her to the back room.

Kevin grabbed Hana by the arm unexpectedly, so she gasped. She was thinking so intently that she didn't even notice the door he just pulled her through.

He yelled out and woman came to greet them. She seemed nice enough, but when she said how cute Hana looked, Hana couldn't help but dig her shoe nervously into a crack in the floor. What really made her blush was Kevin's reply. So, he thought she was cute...

Hana followed Anna into a back room and watched as the woman searched for a uniform. It was quiet now and Hana finally felt all pressure lift off her shoulders. Anna handed her the uniform. Hana changed quickly, "How-how well do you know Kevin? I mean, do you know anything about his...personal life?" Hana wasn't sure why she was asking but she was hoping to get more information about him.

OOC: The person which my character (Aidith) knows, Ichi, is probably going to be another character because he soon plays a big role. PM me if you would like me to place a character profile of him. I have now given Ichi to Sunnyside so it won't cause confusion and I can stay focused on Aidith.

Ichi looked up from the book he was reading. Suddenly the bookstore had become much more quieter and most of people had left. One fo the clerks told him that they were closing soon. Ichi put the book back and left the store. He never liked reading but he must try to remain seen as a normal human.

[I]I've always known that Aidith has been following me everyday after class for the past couple of months now. Ichi thought and smirked at the idea that Aidith doesn't know this. Today I made eye contact with her for the first time... I wonder where she ran off to. Ichi clutched his chest. The spirit within me burns. He walked along the sidewalk, watching the sun disappear behind the trees in the distance.

He could hear all the happenings around him. Every smell could be identified. For he was a rare spirit who roamed Kapok Bay... he was not good nor was he evil.

Aidith stared back at this boy who seemed very rude. I don't have time for this... Aidith thought.
"Who do you think I am and why would I be practising a ridiculous things such as a 'human pinball expression'?!" She snapped at him and folded her arms, looking away from this rude person. "Please move out of the way so that I can go practise my fighting to slay evil spirits!" What have I just said?! Aidith covered her mouth with her hand, I'm not meant to tell a normal, useless human about evil spirits... now he probably thinks I'm weird. Aidith preteneded to ignore what she just said, "Did you hear me? Move!" She took a step forward and placed her hands on this guy's chest trying to push him. A strange feeling rushed through her.

Anna sat down in front of her and said, What do I know about him? Let's see...From the stuff he told me, he served three years in the military which would explain why he likes looking nice everyday. He is well disciplined to the point of some people being scared of it. Personally, I like that. It builds character and moral fiber and makes a man a man. He also doesn't like to fight but should things come to that, he won't hesitate to strike after he has been swung at. I think the military sharpened his ability to fight. Lastly, he seems to have a fascination for wolves. For some reason, he can hear, see, and smell things that I normally can't. It's like he's one with them. When he's in a combat situation, he's a totally different person. He moves faster and his reactions come quicker. That's about all I can recall. Why did you ask such a question? Oh...I get it. You want him, don't you? You can admit it, we're both ladies. How do you feel around him?". It seemed she was long-winded.

Meanwhile, Kevin was taking orders and spicing food up left and right. He would converse from time to time but that didn't stop him from keeping the line moving. "Enjoy your Ziti and Garlic Bread!" He said with a clean smile.

Hana was being to feel sorry asking the question. Anna went on and on about Kevin. It was a good thing she did because Hana learnt some new things. Like his love for wolves. And, she couldn't figure out what Anna meant about him being 'like on of them'.

Anna asked why Hana was so interested. "Oh, uh, ha. No reason. He just seems really mysterious that's all. He wouldn't tell me much so I thought I could learn something about him from you. Really, that's the only reason why. Nothing more. Ha ha." Hana chuckled nervously and reached up to rub the back of her head. She was getting a headache from all the blushing she was doing. She knew that studying wasn't going to happen, "Hey, I'm ready now!"

Anna walked back to the front where Kevin was serving food. No matter how hard she tried, Hana still couldn't figure out what that meant. How could he be like a wolf?

"Okay Hana, let Anna and I show you how to do things. Anna and I alternate days between serving and cooking. Today's my day for cooking so I shall teach you how to cook. You said you weren't that good and I said I would teach you." Kevin said as he led Hana to the grilling area. "First, you will need latex gloves and your hairnet. Put them on and I will show you how to make ziti and sauce with Italian sausage in it." For hours they continued to work at the grill, getting something to drink from time to time. The work was quite exhilarating.

Samael sighed at the snappish girl content to dismiss her as just a clumsy passerby late for some important meeting. But then she kept talking.

Suddenly, he bent forward in his seated posture, and laughed heartily. He had to use a hand to keep from rolling over on his side. What was this woman on? Not only was she going on about this whole 'spirit' drivel but she was some sort of self-declared crusader against "evil" spirits!

She tried to cover her flub, apparently she had enough sense to be embarrassed about believing in spirits but it was too late. And all her pushing could upset his notice. "Why do you keep pushing me and asking me to move?" He said shifting the conversation to a nice starting point, "I'm on the ground as it stands" indeed since her bumping into him had knocked him over he had made no effort to stand, "and not only that its not like I'm blocking your only means of ingress. This is a sidewalk... perfectly wide enough for you to go around. Or perhaps your evil spirits prevent you from walking but one narrow path? In that case," he here stood and pointedly stepped a side with a too-formal bow " right this way. I shan't wish to incur the wrath of your evil spirits."

Hana was exhausted. Cooking was more tiring then she thought it would be. Every muscle in her body ache from constantly standing and at that moment, she would have given anything to sit for one minute.

Once Kevin said she could take a break, she collapsed into a nearby chair and took a deep breath. She felt bad for her mother, who cooked everyday since Hana was born. Maybe she should have tried to help more.

She looked over at Kevin and then back up to the front kitchen. That's when she saw him. Ricky York walked down the food line, chatting away with another boy. Hana jumped to her feet, her face once again changing five shades of red. What would he think if he saw her back here? And what if Kevin saw her blushing over another boy? A sudden load of stress fell on Hana and she felt her plain white cat tail stick out.

"There, that should be enough food to keep us going up front for awhile. Now to rest. Ann, shout up if you need anything." As Kevin made his way to the back room, he stumbled and fell. On his way getting up, he noticed this white thing in his face, gently smacking him from time to time. He started feeling it and followed directly to Hana. Kevin quickly got up and got down to eye level with Hana, whispering in a soft voice, "You're one of "them", aren't you? There's no need to hide it. I'll tell you this. I'm one of "them" too so don't worry. Humans don't know about me and I don't intend on letting them know about you, now let's hide that tail before people suspect something." He stuffed her tail back into her pants and gave her a cold bottle of milk. "Maybe that works better." He said with an entrancing smile.

Hana freaked out. Kevin saw her tail and the fact that he shoved her tail into the back of her pants made her quite uncomfortable. Was he really going to keep her secret? And, after all her suspicions, she now knew that he was like her. She twisted around to see him handing her a glass of milk. She was glad he helped her out. She had no idea what she would have done if someone else had seen. She let out a sigh.

"Um, thank you but do you think next time you could find some other way to hid my tail. That was a little...uncomfortable for me." She said slowly, hoping not to hurt his feelings, "But, it's nice to know I'm not completely alone. I had a feel you were one of...us, I guess. I just wasn't sure. And, I'm thankful you helped out. I was scared someone else would see. Thank you so much."

She took a long glup of milk. "Oh, why couldn't it have been my ears?"

Turning slightly red, Kevin whispered, "My apologies for not thinking of a better way to hide your tail. If Anna saw, who knows what she would say? I'm trying to help you as best as I can. When the day is over, you want to get some private time to talk about our abilities? It's a serious question.". This period of the day for lunch was very slow so there was plenty of time to converse.

Hana felt horrible, "I didn't mean it that way! I'm very thankful you helped me. I guess I was just a little...surprised about it, that's all."

She thought about his question. In all honesty, she always wanted to tell someone about her shifter side ever since that night. Keeping everything locked up inside was part of the reason she didn't like talking to other people. She looked over to see Ricky leaving, laughing with his friends as he went. UP to today, he was the only friend she had. But, she couldn't talk to him about shifter things.

Hana, finally making up her mind, looked back at Kevin and smiled, "Sure, we can talk about it. I've always wanted to explain everything to someone. I guess that someone will be you."

Looking at Hana with that gleam in his eye again, Kevin whispered, "Alright then. Is there anywhere you would prefer to go? Preferably a place where no one can hear us about shifter business." Hana couldn't think of a place to talk. There were so many places but many of them were filled with people. Then she remembered it. "There's a church down the street. No one goes there much, I guess that's someplace to go."

The wind shifted again. Hana couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to take place. It was either a good thing or a bad thing, she really couldn't tell. All she knew was that there was a change in the air. She shook the feeling. "Well, what do you think?"

Dr. Hax
10-18-2008, 06:10 PM
"That could work, Hana. An old church is fine. Just lead the way and we will be fine as long as that tail doesn't pop out again." Kevin said before hearing Anna say, Kevin, we're running low on pizza. Make two pies please. Make one with pepperoni and the other with extra cheese.". Kevin turned to Hana and held a hand out, saying, "Come on. Let me teach you how to make a great pizza."

Hana was happy to be in her school uniform again. It meant the day was almost over. Not only that, but now, thanks to Kevin, she had some extra money. That meant more food then she usually bought.

She kept checking to make sure that neither her tail or ears popped out as the walked. The church wasn't that far so they reached it in no time. Hana sat in the back pew with Kevin and sighed, "Who should talk first? Me or you?"

Dr. Hax
10-18-2008, 06:43 PM
Kevin looked around and said, "Try to keep it down, alright? Now then, you are a shifter with catlike features. I noticed the tail but is there anything else on you that a cat normally has?" He decided to relax and let his enhanced sense of smell and hearing do some work. All this time, he simply thought, A girl with a tail, huh? Kind of cute, plus she seems like my type but I can't let her catch on too quickly that I like her. It's best if I just hold my thoughts in and hear what she has to say. No, I can't blush now...how embarrassing. Hopefully she doesn't notice. Just keep your cool, Kevin. He was getting slightly filled with angst as his leg started shaking while he looked forward to hide his blushing.

Hana cleared her thoat. "Well, there's the tail but there's also the ears. That's about it. Everything else stays about the same." She thought a second and then lowered her voice, "It's really strange 'cause when I change, I can also make things out of thin air. Things like swords and stuff. Well, I guess it's not thin air. Once, when I changed, I tried to study it. I think it has something to do with energy 'cause I also moved through this door without trying. It was alittle scary."

She looked over a noticed his cheeks had turned a faint red. "Are you okay? I'm talking to much? Your face is a little red."

10-18-2008, 08:02 PM
Trying to stay calm, Kevin got to a quick thought and said, "No, you're not talking too much. It's just a little hot out, that's all." He thought a little deeper, hiding his face for a bit. She must have caught on as to why I am blushing as well but I wont question that. So, she can make things appear out of air. That's quite interesting. He uncovered his face from his hands and looked directly into Hana's eyes with that tear drop glare. "I shall tell you of my abilities. I tend to have wolf instincts. I'm currently using one of the wolf abilities...enhanced senses. I pretty much have sensitive hearing, smell and sight like that of a wolf. The military sharpened my skills in combat as a human. In my other form, I am equally matched. The hunger pains I go through from time to time are because of the wolf's urge to eat meat. Lastly, my reflexes and speed are slightly faster so running around and evasion isn't a problem. I just need to work out a little more to build some muscle." He hoped that the direct look into her eyes could tell her how he felt.

Hana noticed that he stared into her eyes. She heard what he said, every word but she was too distracted. That's when she realized what he was trying to say without words. Does he like me? That's how it's coming across. Oh, what do I do?

She glanced away quickly as her face turned red too, "So, that's what Anna meant when she said you were like a wolf. Makes sense to me now. All day I was trying to figure it out but then, when my tail popped out and you said what you said, it clicked. It's because you actually are one like one of them." She stopped and listened carefully. There was a slight breeze and she shivered. "This may sound funny, but, is your face really red because it's hot or...is it something else?" She waited, worried she may have scared him off.

"Actually, this is my first time privately talking to a girl face-to-face. All my life, whenever I had talked to a girl, my friends were usually with me, watching my back. I think I've come to outgrow that. You seem quite safe to be around so I am comfortable with you. I...uh..don't know why I'm blushing exactly. Maybe I'll find out soon but then again, you're a girl. You can sense these types of feelings better. If you can tell me what you think then that's fine too." Kevin nervously said as he caught a faint sound in the air. He stayed alert and listened to Hana.

"Um," she wasn't quite sure to say. She'd never been face to face with anyone. They always stayed away, "I kinda think I know how you feel. No ones has ever been friendly with me and I was the smart one. I had no one to talk to and with Jez gone, I feel like a piece of me is missing. Jez is-was my twin sister, but she..." A tear welled up in Hana's eyes. She never told anyone outside the family how she felt about her sister.

She sat silently and, slowly, she rested her head on Kevin's shoulder. She sat closer to him. "I'm sorry I didn't really answer your question. I'm not sure how I feel about everything either."

Tsukamoto-San
10-18-2008, 10:46 PM
Hana let go, crying. She finally felt relief, crying about everything. There was never another time that she cried.

Then, she became embarrassed. She was crying over something that had happened years ago. Jez was gone and she was never coming back. Hana knew that but she didn't want to except that. No, she couldn't cry in front of him.She pulled away quickly. "I'm sorry, but I should really be getting home. I don't want you to see me like this."

She ran out of the church and placed her head in hands. It was definitely time to go home. She was exhausted from everything and she just wanted to close her eyes. She slowed to a walk and sighed. It probably wasn't a good idea for her to run away. He'd probably never talk to her again.

She heard a rustling behind her. Turning around, she noticed a wolf. He was taller then wolves she had seen before. It stood, staring at her and then it charged, full speed. Hana tried to move out of the way but the furry body rammed into her, sending her flying to the ground. There was no way it was getting away with that. Hana got to her feet, and in a flash of light, she shifted. Her clothes were now different and she held a staff in her hand.

They stared each other down. Hana then swung the staff, the blue ball emiting a bright light and sent it hurtling towards the wolf. It collided, a wound forming on it's shoulder. She was proud of herself, but not for long. The wolf, quicker then her, ran straight for her. It slammed into her and at the same time, dug it's fangs into her side.

Hana collapsed to the ground, holding her side. The wolf towered over her, sniffed once. She cringed, preparing for it to bite into her again. Instead, it turned around and ran full speed into the trees.

Hana laid there, trying to regain her strength.

Now I know I heard something. I better go check it out quickly. These were Kevin's thoughts as he ran out of the run-down church. He smelled blood easily due to his senses and followed the scent to a wounded Hana. "My god...What happened to you!? You're wounded."

That's when a stab a pain shot through her side, she grabbed her side tighter before passing out.

He reached his apartment and opened the door, went inside and then closed and locked it. Setting Hana down on the bed, he said, "I'd tell you to wait there but...". In the bathroom was a decent-sized first aid kit. He lifted her top just past the bites, took out a sterilization spray and disinfected the wound. He then took out some butterfly stitches and put them over the bite marks. Lastly, he wrapped gauze tape around the entire torso and took off his shirt to get a muscle shirt, he tucked her in with a warm blanket and said, "Sleep, okay? Good night."

Tama, her cat companion, poked his head out of her back pack! "Nya, Kat! You have to transform!"

"What am I gonna do, There's all these people around. I can't show myself yet. Everyone will know my secret."

Kat had quite a dilema on her hands. There were hundreds of people on the streets staring in utter shock and awe at the spectacle of her running away from this wolf. Things would probably be even worse if she transformed into her cat self. She suddenly ran passed Kairos who was leaning against a wall, and looked over at him while foolishly not looking at what's in front of her. When she finally looked back, it was too late.

Her face hit a metal pole and she fell to the ground. The wolf finally got up and realized that he had won, so he slowly started to circle his prey. Kat slowly sat up and Tama started to panic.

"You have to transform! Nya! We're going to die if you don't!"

"But...my.....secret..." Kat fell back down and was totally K.O.ed.

Every bone in her body ached. She felt like she was it by a bus and she was sure that she looked like it too. Hana opened her eyes slowly to find herself in a room. Sitting up quickly, she winced from the pain in her side. That's when she noticed the bandages. Where was she and who brought her here? Was it kevin? She remembered seeing him before she blacked out.

Out of natural curiousity, she climbed out of the bed and walked for the door, listening as she went. She knew it was probably really rude to snoop around someones house but she couldn't help it. She opened the door and went down the hall. Her heart was racing. What would she find around the next corner?

She gasped when she found Kevin sitting on the couch. She was more shocked because she didn't expect him to just be sitting there. "Hi." It was all she could think of. "I-I wanna thank you for helping me."

On his way to the market, he saw a wolf and a helpless girl cowering from it. Kevin noticed a scar over the wolf's right eye and ran into an alley behind another building. "Looks like this is the time to-ahhh!!!" He said and then shifted into his wolf form. He came out from behind the building and faced the wolf with teeth showing and a growl that could make even the toughest man's feet shake.

The other wolf locks eyes on Kevin and leaps up on top of a car. Looking down on him while maintinging a highly erect posture with his tail and ears high up. Kevin recalls from texts on Wolves that some researchers view this as "Alpha Posture".

The wolf is holding position and seems fairly calms, letting out a low growl while trying to stare Kevin down. Ignoring Kat for the moment.

"Oh. On second thought, could I have some garlic bread too?"

But this time instead of holding a smile as soon as Rain's back is turned she runs out the front door clutching the bread to her chest tightly, sending a chair flying.

Rain turned around quickly, he knew there was something awkward about her blood the moment she walked in. He just smiled, should he chase after her or let her make her own mistake and learn that Rain understands.
When she would open the bag she would just see a roll of napkins in the shape of bread.
Rain noticed his grandfather's reaction.
Then she through a chair, that pissed Rain off. He didn't care. He jumped over the counter and ran after the girl. He had forgotten all about his trick with the napkin rolls.
He was going to rip her to shreds and drink her blood.

Hana took a seat on the couch and looked around. It was a very small apartment, perfect for one person. She stood and walked the perimeter. There was nothing too personal. No pictures hanging on the wall or anything else that remotely suggested that there was other family he had.

She decided to go back into the bedroom and looked around. Again no pictures. Against her better judgement, she opened the drawers. But all she found was clothes. Closing them she sighed. He must be so lonely, not having anyone to talk to. Almost like her. She did have her family. As much as they loved her, she stayed away. They were lying to her afterall.

She walked back out to the livingroom and looked for the phone. When she found it, she dialed in Ricky's number.

When the answering machine picked up, she sighed again, "Hi, Ricky. It's me, Hana. I just wanted you to know that I won't be able to meet you later. Something came up. I hope I can make it up sometime. Bye."

She'd lied. The real reason was that she didn't want to see him. How would she explain the bite marks?

As Rain notices this he hears a shout from back at the shop, glancing back for a moment he sees that it seems one of the lights in the front must have had something go wrong because flames are spreading out from it.

The girl yells back. "Please, just leave me alone!"

(In regards to the Wolf).

The Wolf leaps down off the car and heads off after Kevin. When they reach the woods it again leaps up to a rock outcropping for high ground and assumes the Alpha Posture.

After letting out another low growl it speaks while still in wolf form.

"So, do you want to follow me to make a pack? "

"First, I would like to know the point in attacking not only that girl but the other girl before that. In my opinion, they don't really look like tasty morsels. They aren't very filling, in other words. If you're going to hunt, wait until nightfall. We both have dark fur so you should know better by now that it will be harder for them see us. If you are going for the hunt, go for someone with more meat on them. Answer that, and then I shall answer your question...Craig."

After saying that, Kevin sat down as a way of making peace.

Rain points his index finger at the girl in the kimono. He has good range, but the fire. He really wanted to twist her into itsy bitsy pieces. He wanted to bathe in her blood and drink it slowly.
But instead he brings down his pointer finger and gives her the middle finger. He runs off to help with the shops fire. When he gets to the shop he becomes almost annoyed.
The flame was puny and was only eating away at the welcoming mat. He could have killed the girl and lets gramps take care of the fire. He moans.
"Rain, what did you give that girl?" Gramps asked as he takes out a fire extinguisher.
"Napkins,"
"Are you trying to run me out of a business?"
"People can wipe their mouths with toilet paper or maybe they can wipe the crumbs on their shirt...do you really think people use napkins anyway,"
"Help me with the fire,"
"Its only burning the welcoming mat and the welcoming plants,"
"Fire spreads come on,"
Rain watched as gramps let off his fire extinguisher and gramps stared at him when Rain wasn't helping.
"I'll go buy another mat and some plants,"
Rain walked off to go the department store.
"You better be home by 8:30 in the evening...you're to dangerous to be out alone,"

Yuuki peeked around the corner of an alley. A new place to leave her mark. She smirked at the thought of people running in terror, but she quickly shook the image out of her head. She wasn't like that anymore, and she promised herself she wouldn't cause more pain to people.

She stepped out of the alleyway and into the street, her deep burgundy eyes scanning every inch of it, choosing who she would rob in order to stay alive.

After she'd gained enough knowledge on how to live here for at least a month, she walked casually into a nearby forest and plopped under a shady tree.

Seeing this wolf atop the rock looking regal, something that meant nothing to Kevin, Kevin spoke. "What are you doing here Craig?"

The wolf, looking down at him responded:

"Craig? Me name 'innit Craig. You fink you know me ay?

Er. *puffing his chest up again to seem regal*

"I was just out to investigate the presence of others of the lyca, liocanth, wolfy....

Oh. 'ell. Look I was jus out 'avin a sniff t find some ouver mates t make a right proper pack wid. I only bothad the twist and twirls 'cause one smelled like..... well you an 't ouver was shoutin off abut wolves.

Still, there you are. But lez be clear guvner, I'm the right boss 'ere."

Kevin paced back and forth saying, "Your ego precedes you but I shall make one thing clear.

In the woods, yes. You have influence but in urban territory, that's where my brother resides and he's not easy to take down. I've tried a couple times and even though I'm of higher intellect than him, he still manages to take me down no matter what strategy I use.

I've noticed a difference between wolves. Ones raised in the woods tend to have brown fur and brown eyes. The alpha has a shade of gray and blue eyes. Wolves raised within cities, which happens to be pretty rare, have crimson red fur like that of blood and blue eyes while the Alpha has fur as black as our shadows and eyes as red as the lycan fury that burns in our hearts. If you plan on taking him, he always keeps at least 3 others with him to back him up or serve as a diversion/defense. Also, as a last bit of advice, he only strikes at night. I apologize wholly but I've no intention on joining the pack. There are wolves around here though who will definitely serve under you just as there are wolves who will serve my brother. I choose to stay out of this confrontation and eventually war when it comes down to that. If you'll excuse me, I've some business to attend to."

He gives the distinct impression that he was only actually listening to a fraction of what you said. Even with his wolves eyes you notice something of a spaced out and irritated look as you describe wolf coloration.

He perks up a bit when he hears about your brother.

Eventually he replies.

"Arright 'ou smarmy git. I dunna give a toss what color ou're 'air is.

Ifn your brothers such a tough typewriter 'ave 'im 'ere in two days and well see wots wot.

'n then you can join up wiv my pack after me and your bro are all agreable like in unnersanning things."

"Don't count on it. My business before pack business." Kevin said as he left. This other wolf merely stared at Kevin as he ran off. Kevin shifted back into his human form away from the public and made his way to the market to fetch some things. With Hana still at his place, he had to make a nice dinner set for her.

Hana sat up and yawned. Her stomach growl with hunger. "Oh, when was the last time I ate..."

She walked into the kitchen to see what was there. But, there was nothing that looked good enough. She sighed again as she made her way back into the livingroom.

"Hana, where have you been?"

The voice echoed in her head. It sounded familiar but she couldn't put a finger on it. Part of her wanted to say it was Jez but that was impossible. Suddenly, pain shot through her side and she collapse to the floor. "What's going on?"

Getting home from the market, Kevin saw Hana on the ground again. He quickly placed the bags down and picked her up to place her on the bed again. He closed his eyes, made a stern face and shook his head slowly. He then brought the bags to the kitchen after covering Hana in a blanket and resting her head on a pillow.

"Hana, what am I going to do with you? I might as well keep you here since I seem to be taking care of you all the time. Well, I better start cooking. She doesn't seem picky so maybe some beef, onions and white rice should do her some good. Maybe that will keep her settled." He said as he prepared to cook for the two of them.

Kat awoke and found herself lying on the sidewalk. Her head was aching from being hit from the pole. She suddenly noticed that the wolf was gone, and Tama was passed out beside her. She suddenly gave a wide smile and began to shake the traumatized kitty.

"Aiya!! We're still alive Tama-chan!"

Tama sighed, "Nya, I could've been dog food thanks to you."

"Come to think of it, since when do wolves live in urban areas? This is such a strange place."

A few hours went by and Kat proceeded with her business in town. After awhile of wandering she suddenly looked at Tama with a confused look on her face.

"Nya, what's wrong Kat?"

"I just realized something."

Tama blinked. "Nya?"

"I still don't know how to read english signs. I don't know how to get home" ^__^;;

Michael was returning home from what he believed to be a huge waste of time, Jennifer had tricked him into going to a dance party.

As he was walking home he noticed a girl walking around with a cat. At first he didn't pay much attention, but then he noticed that she talked to the cat and the strange part was he was sure he saw the cat talk back.

He decided it would be a waste of his time if he spent too much time wondering about it so decided to pay her no heed. Normally this would have been easy, Micheal spent most of his time ignoring people, but the idea of a talking cat kept nagging at him, so Michael continued to watch her as she ran around, and every time she stopped he could almost see her talk to her cat. This went on for some time and she finally noticed him watching her.

Micheal could swear he saw the cat make a gesture with its paw towards him, but he wasn't sure, until the girl began to run up to him that is. He averted his gaze, not wanting to make eye contact and began to walk briskly towards his apartment. But she was too fast for him .

"Hey, wait up!" shouted the girl, coming to a stop right in front of him.

Michael knew he couldn't just ignore her, but how he wished he could. Having to interact with people was something Micheal abhorred, much preferring to spend his time alone.

"Can I help you with something?", he asked, hoping the answer would be no.

"Could....could you help me find my way home? I'm new to this country and I can't read english very well."

Kat was blushing with embarrassment. She noticed that he seemed slightly uncomfortable so this made the matter even worse. "Geez, I'm such an idiot." She thought to herself. "I knew I should've payed attention in english class back home. Aiyaaaa! this is so embarrassing!!!"

Michael had been really freaking out, he had never been a social person, but after the death of his family he really withdrew into himself. But when she spoke, something in her voice calmed him a little. This really made him wonder who this strange girl with the strange cat was.

"I guess I can help. Where do you live?" he replied, a bit more sure of himself than before, but still trying to avoid eye contact.

"My name is Michael by the way," he said as an afterthought, "What's yours?"

she then turned around in a circle to get to know her surroundings. " I live really close to the university, but I don't remember how to get there. I'm really sorry about the inconvenience." Her cat ears suddenly popped up out of her head as she talked. Tama started to panic.

"nya!!! Kat! Your ears!!!"

"Tama chan!" Kat snapped back. She suddenly paused and realized what had just happened in front of Michael. She slowly placed her hand on her ears, and then slowly shifted her eyes towards him, and her face turned bright red. she thought to herself "Oh no! what have I done!? this random stranger knows my secret! baka! baka! baka! Ah! how stupid can I get!?"

On his way back he noticed something peeking out towards the city and disappearing. Since he was upset maybe this was something to kill, something to make him feel better. Looking back at Hana, Kevin said, "Well, I suppose we better get you to a hospital. ...and right when I just finished. I suppose I better get this into a plastic container.". He had the container with two forks and some napkins inside inside a neat, little bag. "Only one thing though, what if they find out you are a shifter? You will probably be in some sort of dilemma there. I don't want you getting hurt or in trouble so here, take this." He took her hand and placed a whistle inside of it. "When you feel the time is right, blow on it. I will come running to you no matter what the circumstance. Come on, let's fetch a cab." With that, they left the apartment and hailed a cab.

She sat in the cab thinking still about the voice. It was bothering her so much couldn't help but ask Kevin what he thought. "This might sound weird but...have you ever heard anyone talking to when there wasn't anyone around?" She looked out the window, hoping he didn't think that she was psycho. "I mean, I'm not saying I ever did but-well, I was just wondering."

After asking, she began hoping that at any moment, the cab would stop in front of the hospital. Not only because of the awkwardness but because it felt like the bite began bleeding again.

Hearing that question was a bit strange for Kevin but he responded as best as he could. "When I close my eyes, Hana, I can hear my mother's melodic voice. My only reason for doing that is because sometimes the bloodlust fails at first. I use the melody my mother hummed to reinforce it. Heh, why do you ask? You've heard them haven't you?"

She stepped through the hospital door. She went up to the receptionist, explained a dog bite her, and sat down in the chair. She didn't say she was attacked by a giant wolf because that would have caused suspicion that she was a shifter. She wouldn't allow that. Kevin was sitting beside her, so she rested her head on the chair. "I'm sorry I ruined everything and that I've been so much trouble. It's been nice spending time with you and I hope I don't scare you away with all my questions." She yawned, "By the way, what did you mean when you asked me if I'd heard them? As they were guided to this room, the nurse told Hana to strip and dress in a gown. "I'll step outside so I don't see what shouldn't be seen by a man." Hana, who was very umcomfortable changing in front of anyone, got into the gown as quickly as she could. Before sitting on the examing table, she checked to make sure her tail wasn't showing. Then she touched the top of her head, but her ears weren't there either. She let out a deep breath, glad that part of her shifter side wasn't showing.

Looking down at her side, she wondered if that was why she had felt the wind change. Maybe it was trying to warn her not to be alone. That's why she decided that she'd ask kevin if she could stay with him that night so she wouldn't have to be alone. But would she still feel safe? That voice had her on edge and she still couldn't stop thinking about it.

The nurse let Kevin back in. Hana waited for her to leave before she spoke, "We sure make a funny pair, don't we? A wolf and cat. I didn't think they were suppose to get alone so well." She smiled, laughing at her own comment.

Willow basked in the grass as the gloriously warm sun beamed down on her. Her time here are the University had been short but so far some of the best times of her life. It was made even better by the fact that her life-time best friend was here to enjoy it with her. She hadnt really met anyone yet but she didnt mind. She would make friends eventually. Tyler began strumming another little tune on his guitar. As the music filled her ears, Willow thought of all the strange things that had happened so far. How she was so drawn to a place that had practically nothing she had ever taken comfort in. She closed her eyes, smiled, and let the sounds of the dormatories behind her and the road infront of her clash with the sounds of nature and the soft thrum of the little tune Tyler played.

Tyler played a song on his guitar. It was one of the many things his dad had taught him when he was young and one of the few things that had stuck with Tyler. It was a soft little tune and completmented the beautiful day nicely. He was stretched out in the grass next to Willow as she stared at the clouds. They both had the day off so they had decided to enjoy it. The breeze that blew ruffled the folds of her skirt and played with her hair as well as his. As he strummed away, he wished days like this would last forever.

Well, uh, I'd probably have to think about it. But, for now maybe I could just stay tonight. I could sleep on the couch. I insist. I mean after that wolf attacked-"

The doctor walked in right at that moment. "Well, a dog bite you say?" She walked over and began to examine the bite. Hana shot Kevin a look, signaling him to look away, which he did quickly. The doctor looked up at Hana curiously, "You say this is just a dog bite? It looks worse then that."

Hana chuckled, "Yeah, it's just a dog bite. The dog was pretty big, like a...german shepard or something." It was all she could think of. She was nervous that the doctor was so suspicious. Hopefully, her lie would go over well. "I guess I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"Sally we have to move." he tugged on her clothing. "I'm starting to un-shift. My head is burning. If we are needing a way out of this you will have to do without my power."
He lent against the wall. This offical didn't look very strong but then what had she done to be getting chased?

She looked frantically around scouring for exit routes and thinking of what to do. she knew she wanted to help. She felt an enormous power and confidence wash over her so she rushed over to where they were and created a fire wall around the assailant. "Run!" she shouted to the two,"I dont know how long i can keep doing this." The girl dragged the guy and they ran for it.

Reina drew the firewall closer to the assailant and then headed towards her quickest escape route. She ran through an adjacent alley which she had found out lead to the forest two walk way away from the old house. In the middle of her interrogation she froze;what am i doing? i dont even know his name. Is he okay? What is your name? who was your friend?

A kind of loud howl was heard from the woods but instead of answering it like normal, Kevin continued cooking for Hana and himself. This was his best dish and he was not going to stop again for something in the woods. As he added green and red bell peppers and some red wine for taste, he thought about the idea of Hana living with him if she did accept and gave a light smile, talking to himself.

"She's a really sweet person...the kind of person you just want to hang out and play with all the time. I could be happy living with her. I truly hope she accepts. Maybe mother was right. I am unhappy from being by myself and all this time, Hana has been making me happy. I can't really explain this warm feeling I'm getting but all I know is I honestly don't want her to leave."

Hana sighed, "It was tiring. I never knew how exhausting cooking was. But, I have a good teacher." She continued to chop for a while. "So, I just want to thank you for everything again. I know I must be a pain what with all the questions and everything. My Mom says I asked to many things. But, that's just me I guess. I've always asked alot of questions. Back then, they were about my sister. There was just something inside that told me my parents knew where she was. They just didn't want to tell me." She sighed, "Anyway, what is it you want to talk about? We can start talking about it now." She said with a large smile.

"Nah, you're not being a pain with the questions. It's been awhile since I've talked to a person for this long outside of the service. I'm glad you consider me a good teacher. Plus, you don't need to thank me for all of this." Kevin said as he took the chopped up celery and leek and put it into the pan. He looked down at Hana and cast that entrancing glare into her eyes again.

(Blue Font is Ricky speaking, and regular font is Hana. Just thought I'd make a note of it!)

"Well, I feel like I should thank you." Hana laughed at herself, "Um, would you mind if I used your phone to call someone real quick."

After he said yes, she walked over to the phone and dialed Ricky's number. She waited and hoped that she'd get the answering machine. She wasn't so lucky.

"Hello?"

"Uh, hi Ricky. It's me, Hana." She cleared her throat, "I, um, just wanted to see if you got my message. Sorry I couldn't make it before."

He sounded relieved, "Hana, I'm so glad you called. Are you alright? I heard you were at the hospital. What happened?"

"Oh, um, nothing!" She chuckled nervously. Who had seen her? "You know me. I'm a klutz! Ha ha!!" There was silence. "Well, I just wanted to say sorry again. Maybe we can hang out some other time. Okay?"

"Sure. Just be more careful, alright?" He said.

Hana promised and they said their goodbyes. She hung up the phone and sighed. She hated lying. But, what else could she do? And, she definitely wasn't going to say anything about Kevin. But, someone saw her at the hospital. Did they tell Ricky about Kevin? She placed her head in her hands. She was so confused about everything.

She got up and walked into the kitchen. "Sorry about that. There was some...business I had to take of." She smiled widely and stood beside Kevin. "So, I've wanted to ask you, what color are your eyes? They're a very...unique color."

Dr. Hax
10-23-2008, 07:52 PM
"You know that shade of blue that reminds a person of the color of a teardrop? I guess you could say my eyes are that color. The strange thing is that nobody here has my color. You sure love to smile, don't you?" Kevin said as he smiled back. He added a bit more wine and oregano for flavor, chuckled a bit and said, "Wait...Don't tell me you have a thing for me. I've been alone most of my life and have never really handled women unless it was necessary. Dinner's ready so let's set up." He took out two plates and gave them to Hana as he turned the burner to low to get two glasses. "What drink do you prefer, Hana?"

Tsukamoto-San
10-23-2008, 09:23 PM
"Ha ha ha, what makes you say that?" Hana felt her cheeks blush as she took the plates. "I mean, it's kinda bold of you to ask me a question like that." She felt like she was put on the spot. "Can I be honest with you? See, to be truthful, I just called my friend, Ricky. He was really the only guy I've ever had as a friend, you know, till I met you. I was suppose to meet him before but then the whole thing happened with the hospital and all. Anyway, I kinda always had a crush on him since we met in class. I guess that's why I didn't want him to worry." She played with the plates in her hand, twisting them around. "I thought I should be honest, what with you being so nice. I just hope that doesn't make you like me any less. I hope we can still talk like we do now...and I guess I...I don't know what to do any more. It's so confusing."

A tear fell as she forced a smile to her face. "I like water or milk. Remember, I'm part cat."

Dr. Hax
10-23-2008, 10:17 PM
Setting the glasses down, Kevin said, "Ah, so this guy you seem to have a crush on was supposed to meet with you before all this? To be honest, you peaked my interest." He poured some milk for Hana and some Red Wine for himself and served dinner. "Let's eat, Hana." He said with a smile as he dug in. "You know, what I wanted to talk about was that offer I wanted to make to you. For most of my life, I've been alone. I don't want to be anymore. I figured since I have a huge thing for you and since I don't want to be alone anymore, I'd offer to have you live with me. We could even sort things with each other like what could go down each day."

10-24-2008, 02:26 PM
Hana sat up straight in shock, "You have a th-thing for me?! I don't know why but that's really surprising. In fact it's the last thing I expected." She twisted her hair around her finger. "I've been thinking about your offer, and...You see Mom always told me, 'Hana, if I ever catch you living with a guy before you're married, I'll kill you.' And, since she's my Mom, I believe her. If you knew her, you'd understand. Anyway, to get to the point. I'm not quite sure if I should or not. It'd be really awkward. So, maybe, I could stay a few nights, you know, just to see if I'm okay with it. I'm not giving a definite 'yes' or anything. I'm just saying...maybe." She took a long sip of water before laughing at herself again. "Sorry, I tend to talk alot when I get really nervous."

Placing a hand on her head, she felt cat ears sticking out, "Oh, darn. That happens too, although, it depends on what type of stress it is." Her shoulders sagged as she sighed, "It always has to happen to me, doesn't it?" She took a bite of the food and chewed furiously.

Dr. Hax
10-24-2008, 03:25 PM
"It's all good, Hana. Take your time and think. You're welcome here for as long as you like. Also, the ears and the tail are cute. How's the food?" Kevin said as he smiled and ate. "Shredded beef, leek, celery, fresh ground black pepper and wine for taste in a bit of shortening is pretty good, huh? I learned how to cook at age 16. When I entered the military, I wanted to learn more on how to cook. I had the mess sergeant teach me a couple things. I did that for all three years that I stayed serving and well, here we are."

She wondered through the forest until low and behold its the boy that she just help escape. "Where is the girl?"she asked," Is she ok?"

Who was that man that was after you? What did he want?

In the middle of her interrogation she froze;what am i doing? i dont even know his name. Is he okay? What is your name? who was your friend?

She was just as curious about them as she was about their assailant.
Never being one to hold her tongue she just kept on asking her questions without fail, one behind the other not even stopping to hear the answers.

Kiaros opened his eyes. Things were unaturally dark and he could hear someone talking to him. They were nattering on. He tried to summon the energy to say something.
He was scared though. The blindness never normally lasted this long.
"Food." He managed to say, "I need food."
He couldn't tell but his eyes were now pure white. Even the most unknowning of people could see that for now he was blind. Panic started to settle in. He had to get the energy to shift again. He had to find out what was going on. He called out to the person by him again.
"I need food. Help." He said with all his strength.

Hana hadn’t realized what she was eating and took a minute to enjoy it. “It’s delicious. You know, you may be a better cook then I expected.” She smiled. “So, what was it like in the military? I’ve never known anyone who was in the service. There’s so many questions I could ask you about it, but I don’t want to bore you with anymore questions. Samael arrived back at his apartment, opening the door with a world weary creek. The girl at the park had been beyond vapid and he was more than glad to have escaped her presence and returned to the suffocating silence of his room.

The room was a single large room with a half kitchen and window that over looked the street. However, there was not a single piece of furniture in the entire thing, Samael could not afford to buy furniture, and even if he was able he would not since he had no real desire to have pointless and unnecessary things. Instead of furniture he had books. Piles upon piles of book that reached to the ceiling in great paper spires.

Without really look he picked up a particular book, a book he had been assigned for class and began reading while he walked to the refrigerator. He opened it lazily and pulled out a soda and drank the 20 oz bottle in one chug. He threw the bottle away and continued to read, his dinner now officially out of the way.

----

He was up until 3 when he went to sleep but then got upon at 7 somewhat fatigued but still capable of getting through his day as usual. It was typical for him to get only a little sleep each day as he didn't feel he had enough time to spend more than an eighth of his day laying about doing nothing.

He spent a short while reading until he heard a knock at the door. At first he ignored it thinking that it was one of his neighbors that was receiving a guest, after all no one ever came by his apartment. However, the knock persisted and Samael began to realize it was for him, and with a groan, stood up from his seat on the floor to answer the door.

It was the man from the park.

Oh god this didn't look like it was going to be any less than agonizing. "What do you want?"

The man grin amicably enough, "I came to talk about hiring you to help me with something while I'm here" He motioned to get into the apartment but Samael kept his arm solidly in the way, he didn't want to deal with this person touching his books and making a mess.

"What do you want?" he repeated his tone obviously implying that the man should get to the point.

"Not a friendly person are we? Well, I doesn't matter. Anyway, have you thought about what we're seeing here? I mean what we're really witnessing?

It may seem like this is just some random fad of delusions and wave it off with all this others. But that lacks forsight into what people will say a generation from now.

I believe we are witnessing the birth of a new religion. Spreading with the fire of religions past. "Miracles" and people with powers, "prophets" if you will coming out of the woodwork like UFO citings in the past.

Oh for now there isn't any message really, just belief. But orthodoxy and meaning are things that can be attached after the fact. Once those who "truely had power" are dead and thus beyond all reproach or examination.

As you can see in order to make profits the media is jumping on the bandwagon. Look through the articles with a blank mind and imagine someone a hundred years from now trying to claim all of the reports are false in the face of believers.

No. We have both a unique opportunity and, yes, a repsonsibility, to investigate this in our own right. We must make our own book to counter what others will say.

And I say we because I'll need help in this. I'd like you to join me as a researcher in your spare time. I can pay the usual rates along with providing solid reference to wherever you wish to go next. Especially if you go into philosophy.

I need you to find the prophets of this age. Talk to them, find out how they think they got their powers, how it makes them feel, how they think they use them, just what it is they think they can do. All that sort of stuff. Perhps even see if they'll demonstrate them for you, though just expect excuses from such things. Still if could be interesting to record the excuses.

What do you say?"

Samael just stood there for a moment. After a minute had passd, he pinched the bridge of his nose between two fingers. "I take it your not an anthropologist, as that was one of the worst models for religion have ever seen. It started with a Max Weber rip-off then ended with Marxist jargon.

"Lets pretend for a moment that I said yes. How will I know one of your prophets when I see one? Prophets, according to your own definition, are defined after the fact. The mad and the geniuses are the result of the beliefs of those that follow them. So, do you have some sort of machine that tells me what people will think of them in the future? It would explain your massive jump of aborted logic to religion creation."

"Nya!!!! Kat!!! Wake up!!!!" Tama was pawing at her face. She opened her eyes and was suddenly confused at the fact that she was still lying on the street.

"I...was...that boy...eh....a dream."

People stared as she stumbled around on the streets. She could hardly stand up, let alone walk. After about an hour of wandering, she suddenly arrived at an apartment complex.

"What are you doing Nya!!" Tama said with panic in his voice.

"I'm going home.....what else do you think I'm doing?"

She stumbled around worse than a drunk girl at a party along the hallways, and blood was starting to come out of the side of her head. "Nya!!! you need to go to a doctor."

Kat opened the nearest door to her hand walked into the room and fell face down on the floor.

"I'm home....Okaasan" she said in a muffle voice, and her ears and tail sprouted out. Tama began to panic.

"Nya!!! this isn't our house!! you need to get up!!!". Tama shut up when he realized that Samael and his friend were staring at them.

"Uh....um....I mean...Meow?"

note: Okaasan in Japanese is mother in case anyone didn't know

Here take my hand i live close by. She held on to him and guided him to her home. it was hard for her to lead him through the forest;she had never had to be incharge of anyone but herself before. it almost annoyed her to be slowed down by this boy. she did it anyway.she was unable to leave him there. she had to help.
After reaching the house she looked for the easiest way to get him in. She decided to use the back door-there were no steps to watch for but the flooring was still old.
"Watch your step the floor is kinda unstable its an old house."she instructed.

"Sit here",she said," I only have bread and water i hope that helps."
she was very jittery. it took her ten minutes to find the bread that sat right on the counter. No one knew that she lived here she wondered what he would think.
"wait isn't he blind. he doesnt know where we are why am i so worried," she thought.
"Here i hope its enough",she whispered.

she walked out of the room and left him to eat, occassionally peaking around at the boy.

Kairos breathed deep. He tried not to rush the food. Who ever had been their was kind and gentle and he was thankful for it. He took a pause and continued eating. In such a state even the simpleness of bread was inviting. He stopped for a moment though. Images of Sally were flashing through his mind. He would have to find her. Nothing would stop him.
"Excuse me? But you who has saved me. Your the same person who saved me before aint you?" he took another bit of bread, "Your a shifter." Kairos couldn't explain to himself why but he could feel it. He relaxed himself. "What is your name?"

"My name is Kairos. I used to live not far from the bookstore in town." He sighed saddly, "But I feel I can't return there anymore."
He shivered in cold and clutch himself tight. Things were not going right. He couldn't see. He couldn't shift yet. He couldn't do anything but talk. He felt so powerless.
"I don't know what happened to sally." he twitch at her name because it conjoured images of the smiling girl in his mind. "I don't know what happened to her. She disapeared when you saved us. I think she may have been caught." A tear ran down his eye. He cutched himself tighter.
"What am I going to do?" He thought.

I never caused any trouble like a normal kid would and I think that maybe that bothered them alittle." Sighing she took another bite. After swallowing, she spoke again, "It's funny, but I think they're glad that I'm gone. I guess maybe I caused trouble in another way. But, it doesn't matter to me. I'm happy being away from home."

She sighed, poking at her food silently. A thought struck her, "Oh, no! I don't have any of my things. No clothes to change into or anything. I really shouldn't run home to get anything. Who knows what might happen."

Kairos held his hands out in front of him and tried walking around. He slipped on something and felt pain shudder up his knees as he hit the ground. He reached out and felt the wall then used it to drag himself back up. He was determined to get stronger. However as hard as he tried he was still in need of basic stuff like sleep. He felt his way along the wall untill he got to a door. He pushed it open.
With luck he had found an empty room with a simple bed.
With luck. Those words echoed through his mind. He couldn't rely on luck forever now. He had barely made it to this bed.
He layed himself out over the bed and after a few moments of feeling about found no one to be in it and so wrapped the cover around himself to keep warm.
He found it scary then ever, being so blind and helpless. Images of Sally crossed his mind. Images of her smiling, laughing, even blushing at his compliments. He tried to shut his eyes to rid himself of such painfull memories but it was usless. So long as he saw darkness he would see her. He curled up more. It reminded him of her again.
This time he lashed out at himself.
"Why am I making myself suffer like this?" He asked himself. He stabbed his nails into his arms in order to try and calm himself down.
"When I'm able to shift I will find who was after her. I will find what happened. I will get her back. And I will get rid of anyone who stands in my way." He muttered to himself.
Without realising it; he had gotten swallowed up in the darkess that was now his world to see. He wondered why he was willing to do all this for one girl. Why he was willing to go out and do anything for just one girl. As he felt droopy he could also feel tears roll down his face. He was crying now, for just one girl. However as he fell to sleep he knew why.
It was because he loved her.

OOC: Keep in mind that powers (such as felines being capable of human speech) do not work around Samael because he dampens all spirit abilities near him.

"If you don't want to consider it a seed for a new religion I suppose that's fine. Facts are important, interpritation can wait.

At the least you must conceed a form of mass psychosis, that is interesting to me at the least, and perhaps profitable for you.

As for how to find these people, I have reason to believe that a number of them actually do dress up and run around. Many others seem to want to be found. Personally I'm not in the proper condition for such legwork. "

Samael sighed, look back into his room at the pile of books that he wanted to read by the end of the month... it was taller than he was. If this turned out to be a bother then he may end up having to pass on some of the books... which saddened him. However, it seemed somewhat interesting and potentially allowing him to reap great rewards in information. Plus, if things turned sour he could always quit. Its not like he was signing a contract or anything.

"Sure. Is there any-" While he was replying to the man a girl burst in shouting something about being home. She was promptly followed by a cat that was mewing loudly. Samael shouted, "What the hell! What are you doing in my house!" Samael he gotten beat up today, had to put up with flirting brats in the bookstore, was hounded by recruitment officers for god-knows what, there was no ounce of patience left in his body. He tried to pull the girl back to her feet and get her out of his room but she seemed unconscious. "Bloody hell!" he scoffed, "if its not one thing its another."

He turned back to the man from the girl on the floor. "It would appear a burden has been thrust on me. I'm going to need to deal with this so if you could return when I'm not busy, like say after my classes later today, I'd appreciate it." He then promptly closed the door in the mans face, making sure that the man knew that he would no longer be talked to. He needed to get this girl out of here and off his floor.

He noticed that she was bleeding badly from the side of her head, but that just made him want to get rid of her faster then there was little doubt who the police would blame for her wound. He could get accused of sexual assault! If he called the ambulance it wouldn't help anything because then he would taken in undersupicion even if the girl later was able to testify to his innocence, though it is very likely she would given her memory might be splotchy what with massive head injury. He was tempt to drag her body out into the alley and dump her there but he was afraid someone in the apartment building would see him dragging her and call the cops. Then he would be beyond saving, and prison was but a forgone conclusion.

And whats more, HE was still covered in blood. At no point had he changed out of the blood soaked garments from before. Who knows what people might think of that.

Still, if left on her own she would bleed all over his carpeted floor and he didn't want to have to rent stain removal equipment or pay his landlady out his admittedly spartan allowance. Quickly he grabbed some paper towels and placed them under her head. He sighed as he sat back against the wall, this was such a pain. And now,he thought to himself as he looked at the cat, of got a bloody furball. Great... and pets aren't allowed in this apartment. Just bloody wonderful

When she arrived upstair she didn't see him. "where did he go?" she looked all over the house finally she found him in one of the back rooms. he was fast asleep but he looked so tormented. She stared at him but her concentration was interrupted by rustling bushes. She crept to the window to see who was outside.
"Is it the assailant from before? did he find us?"
It was Rai snooping around."I got all worked up for nothing."
She then walked to the back door and shouted," what are you doing snooping around?"

He didn't answer."Didn't you hear me" He was surprised by the look on her face.she seemed more annoyed that usually.
"Is that directed at me or that other boy that i saw you with?"he said.

what are you talking about?Of course this is aimed at you.sudden she recognised what he had asked."Are you watching me? Have you been out here"

He didnt answer. He just blushed. She stared at him."how strange."

Handing milk to Hana, Kevin said, "What's wrong? You seem to be locked in thought. But I can't really read your thought all that much. What's got you at a lock, huh?" He thought for a moment, got an assumption and said, "Since you're staying here for a few days, you need clothes, yes? Some undergarments, deodorant, a toothbrush, a brush, all the essentials. Am I right?"

Kat slowly opened her eyes as the ceiling above her slowly came into focus. She then rolled over to see Samael staring at her. He seemed quite annoyed and highly frustrated. Her mind ran a blank when she tried to think of possible reasons as to why she was there in the first place, but all she could remember was being chased by that random wolf and then blacking out in the street.

Where's Tama Chan?

She sat up and took a good look at her surroundings.

"Um...where am I?" She went to rub the side of her head and she felt the blood on her hand. She then looked at her bloodied hand, and then over and Samael who also had blood all over his close. She was now in total panic mode as tears began to swell in her eyes.

"Oh my god! what am I doing here! why am I bleeding! I don't wanna die! This is like the beginning of every crappy horror movie! Nyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!"

She was now crying uncontrollably. "I've should have listened to you Okaa-san! I shouldn't have went out into town by my self even though I can't even read english! Now this strange man looks like he wants to kill me! Aiyaaaaaaaaa! I'm such an idiot!!!!"

OOC: Skiet = Silence in maltese.

"Gah!" Samael exclaimed as put his hands over his ears at the girls infernal bawling, "Ye Gods, woman! Be quiet! Silence! Skiet!" he started speaking in maltese before breaking of and taking a breath. He didn't like speaking in his native tongue to others as it normally led to more talking rather then less. After he had calmed down a bit, " Please be quiet and stop this unholy noise. My neighbors will complain and I could get evicted, my landlady doesn't like me as it stands and I'm sure she'd kick me to the curb if I give her the excuse. So shut you mouth!" He wasn't used to being conciliatory and eventually his attempts at calming just gave way to his more natural venom.

Though part of the problem with his attitude was that this day had given him the shaft for one time to many. He wanted to relax, finish his home work, and get enough sleep (i.e. not much) before class tomorrow. Thats all. But it seemed like fate had deigned that today would be the day of misery for Louis. A day of sorrow, agony, and screaming girls that think they are in "crappy horror movies".

komenesai = Sorry

Kat immediately stopped crying after Samael's sharp comment. The whole situation didn't really make sense to her. Why would she be in this guys appartment if she wasn't there because of his doing? Tama ran over to Kat and to Samael it seemed that he was meowing senslessly again.

"Nya! Kat! It's all your fault were stuck in the mess!!!"

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"YOU'RE the one who dragged us in this apartment and YOU'RE the one who decided to pass out in the middle of this guy's floor!!!! This is by the far the dumbest thing you've ever done!!!!"

Kats eyes widened and stared into Tama's eyes for what seemed like an eternity. She then put her hands over her mouth and her face turned bright red with shame. She then got up and started bow her head in apology.

"Komenesai! Komenesai! please forgive me! You must think I'm the most terrible person in the world!"

She immediately tried to clean up the mess she made. She picked up her bloodied paper towels and got cleans ones to give to Samael to clean himself up when her head started throbbing with pain. She then dropped the paper towel roll and fell to her knees.

Good job Kat, you really got yourself into a pickle now. Not only have you severly pissed this stranger off, but you now have a massive head injury and have no idea where you are or how to get home. Can you do anything right?

"I'm.....so sorry to have burdened you..." with that statement, she slowly got up. And with ther head still throbbing and bleeding slightly, she proceeded to walk out the door.

No matter how hurt I am, I musn't give this guy any more trouble. I have to find my way home, even if I can't read a single damn street sign in this god forsaken city.

Samael got up and grabbed the girl by the collar of her shirt, like one grabs a kitten. "Your not doing that thinking thing. You go out there bleeding like all hell and stumbling like a drunkard, guess who gets blamed? People aren't exactly enthralled by my cheery disposition and my reputation her isn't good. They'd have no trouble believing I was the one that hit you. So you are doing no such walking until you stop bleeding and can walk in a straight line like a normal human being."

Kat lowered her head to cover her face, retreated back into the apartment, and sat on the floor in a fetal position as to not get in Samael's way. She was already drowning in her own shame and embarrassment as it is.

Well, at least the guy's nice enough to help me get better. I guess it could be worse.

Tama sat next to her and made himself comfy as he took a well needed cat nap.

come to think about it, I wonder why he hasn't said anything about Tama chan? Normally people would be freaked out if they saw a talking cat.........Ga! I need to quit thinking my head hurts for god sakes!

Kat eventually laid down and fell asleep while curled up in a similar position as Tama. She was like a sleeping child who was now totally detached from the world around her, and completely immersed in her dreams.....

Samael sighed to himself... at least she seemed to be staying out of his way. He sat down on the floor and worked on homework in silence... today had been horrid but that was no excuse not to do his duty. He had an obligation to do his work and by the gods he was going to do it, come hell or high water.

He just hoped his boarder wouldn't linger on and that the work this man had for him would not be too difficult... he didn't know if he had the patience for too much.

Kat awoke from her slumber feeling very bad since she slept on the floor, and she noticed that Samael was still doing his homework. She rubbed her eyes, yawned, and crawled over to where he was working. She looked around and noticed that there was no furniture and nothing but books. She then smiled.

"You know, it's kinda funny. Even though it's strange that you have no furniture your apartment kinda reminds me of home. It's been a long time since I've been able to just sit on the floor."

She then looked on the floor and picked up a random piece of English literature. She flipped through the pages and let out a deep sigh. "You must be very smart...."

Reina finally got Rai to leave. She decided to not distrurb Kairos she could see that he was exhausted.

The next morning she made sure to get up early than usual, she wanted to get something good for breakfast. She 'found' some eggs that would go well with her bread and so she decided to fry them.
"I hope he eats eggs."

When she finished making breakfast she went to check on him but he wasn't in the room."where did he go?" She started to search the house.

Kairos was limping through what felt like the woods. He had slept longer then he needed. He had to get moving.
He tripped over a root and feel flat on his face. The mud squelched on his face and he was sure that it wasn't water leaking out of his nose. But he pulled himself up with effort. Now was not the time to be worrying about himself.
He regreted not saying thank you to the kind person that had helped him but he was in to much of a rush. This morning he hadn't been able to shift so he had decided just to search by himself. As he slowly felt his way along he realised how stupid he was.
"You have done it now Kairos." He said to himself. "Your not the reckless type but look at you." He kept muttering to himself. It was quite comfating. It also destracted him from his thoughts.
He fell again and this time felt his knee cut open. He didn't care though. He tried to pull himself up. However this time his body cared and it failed to get him up. He was left standard in the woods again. He sighed. This time he guessed there would be no help.
He focused himself and decided just to sit there until he felt he could stand again. It didn't bother him what might happen to a blind boy in the woods. Nothing matter at the moment but one thing. Only one.

Reina ran out the back door. Then suddenly she paused, i know who can help. I tried to concentrate on finding Kairos and she felt herself changing. She was in those wierd clothes again but she knew it was a good thing because whenever she was in that kimono she could do amazing things.

She continued to concentrate on kairos and suddenly images started to flash in her mind. She saw him wondering through the forest and she knew he was hurt. She hurried through the woods in search of him. He visions were unclear they didnt show where to go only that he was out there.

"Where are you?"she shouted. "Can you here me?"
"Please Answer if you here me."

She saw what seemed like an imprint in the ground."He cant be too far from here"
"Kairos are u out here?"
"Please answer.I only want to help you. we can look for your friend together if thats who you're worried about."

"Hn..." he grunted slightly, not really paying attention to what she was saying but instead working on his homework. Until the smart comment. When she uttered that a invisible chill rolled up his spine.

He didn't like being called smart. It was something that he had come upon as soon as he ventured out from his oft empty home and into the larger world. This label of "smart" irked him. Intelligence was a talent, something one was born with and it allowed the individual to pick up skills at an incredibly fast rate. However, it marginalized all the work he had put into his work. Being 'smart' meant that he somehow didn't have to spend most of his life reading books and training his mind to think in different ways to be a scholastic. That he didn't need to invest 12 hours a day reading books from varies authors to be converstant in as many subjects as he was. It was akin to saying he could have the world without trying. Which was a lie. There was no such thing as intelligence. People who thought other people were smart were just trying to justify there laziness. Why shouldn't I study? because I'm not smart, therefore it will take me a long time to learn it if I learn it at all. But that was falsehood,Samael had work hard to be who he was and it wasn't because he somehow picked up skills faster. It was because he had been willing to sit down and read until his eyes were sore and his mind full to burst. Then he would stand up, get a drink of diet soda, and start readying again.

Smart never factored into it.

"I'm nothing special." he said in a muted sigh, "I'm just not lazy."

"Well I think your special...." Kat said to Samael with smile.

Kat remained in his apartment for the duration of the day, and her head was starting to feel a lot better. But now she still had a another problem to overcome.

How am I going to get home? I don't recognize any of those streets. Mother must be so worried.

She sighed as she watched the sunset out of the window until the lights of the buildings twinkled like stars. Tama was sitting on Kat's shoulder when he began to ponder.
" I don't think that boy is any ordinary human nya."

"Eh? why do you say that?" Kat replied, while looking around to make sure Samael wasn't around. I'm sure if he saw her talking to Tama he would think she was a crazy person.

" Nya, I can just sense it. Call it a kitty's intuition."

Kat gave Tama a dull look. "You're ridiculous"

A long pause fell over the two.

"Well, ordinary or not, we still need to think of a game plan to get home in one piece."

Willow- She stood up and dusted off her skirts. She had homework to do and it wasnt going to do itself. As she looked around, she realized how late it had gotten. It would be dark soon. She looked over at Tyler where he still lay playing his guitar. "I have some homework to do so I'm going to head home. See you later, okay?" she said with a smile and a quick hug as she headed off towards home. She had spent an entire day doing nothing and now she would have to spend an entire night trying to catch up. As she turned a corner, she let out a large sigh of exasperation and quickened her steps.

Tyler- Almost startled by her movement, Tyler jumped a little as he listened to Willows good-bye. "Bye!" he shouted as she walked away, also just realizing how late it had been getting. He looked around as the beauty of the day began to give way to night fall. He sat for a moment before he packed up his guitar and pick and headed for home himself. He walked slowly, having already completely his homework and in no rush to go to his empty apartment.

It's night time I have nothing left to do today so I guess I'll just go home for now
the startled movements of someone, put him completely off balance, he slipped on a chipped roof tile only to fall and create a sound loud enough to attract the attention of the stranger .

Samael didn't respond to the girl's compliment, rather he remained silent and worked.

----

The sun was had started its decent when Samael returned to the door, a book bag filled with books from the library over his shoulder. He looked up towards the top, at the room where the girl from last night was probably still loitering and debated as to whether or not he was up for it. Instead of immediately going up he decided to take a seat on a bench outside and read the books he needed to have read for tonight. If the girl hadn't left, which he rather hoped she had, he had a feeling that she would keep him from getting his usual amount of reading done. If that was the case he needed to make sure he got the important stuff squared away. Making sure he graduated before next year left him with lots of work and little free time, he could not risk falling behind.

After finishing he made his way up the stairs to his apartment and steeled himself. He didn't like talking to people but he needed to make sure the girl was thinking about leaving and making plans for her departure.

He opened the door to his room and walked in, throwing his book bag to the side as he did.

"Welcome back! How was your day at school? Did all of your studying pay off?" Kat said very energetically.

" Oh! Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat? Perhaps prepare you some tea? I feel like it's the least I can do for you helping me out and everything. You're a real life saver! Plus, you can't study on an empty stomach." ^__^

I hope this guy can at least warm up a little bit. Then it wouldn't be so hard for me to ask the question.......

The whole time Kat was trying to be her cheerful self, Tama sat on her shoulder and stared at Samael, trying to get into his thoughts. He knew something was strange was going down because Kat hasn't accidentally transformed at all within the past 24 hours. She normally has a problem with this and has a hard time controlling it. Tama continued to stare very intently while slowly wagging his tail back and forth. Kat just stood there and smiled, hoping that Samael would accept her kindness.

Samael looked up at Kat silently but didn't immediately say anything. He was slightly alienation by her cheer, unable to respond to such irrational vibrancy. It was... disconcerting. Finally, after a moment, he said a vague, "Fine" not willing to commit to a more concrete comment.

She continued, pushing him further away with the mass of enthusiasm. He had wanted to bring up the matter of her leaving but it was hard, his more irrational part didn't feel comfortable kicking out someone so kind and unassuming. But Samael was a creature of logic, he swallowed such emotions often enough that he could do it, albiet with some difficulty. "Actually, I don't think I have any tea... or much food for that matter. Which is something I actually wanted to talk to you about. Listen, I cannot afford to have you stay here for more than a couple days. I have a living allowance of 50 euros. So about 10,000 yen if you want a figure you can relate to. Thats barely enough to feed just me, and I can't feed you at all. As Kairos laid there he felt more and more rage building up in him. His mind raced with images of revenge. He felt like his blood was boiling. Sorrow had turned to anger.
"Damn you world. Why do this to me?" He said to himself.
Deep inside he could hear a voice telling him to calm down. He didn't know what would happen if a shifter lost himself to rage. He could feel it happening. But instead of being scared he was welcoming it. Slowly he felt himself being suspended in the air by strings.
"Yes finally." He thought.
He felt his energy flowling through him and to his eyes. Like it always did. However this time something felt wrong. It was burning. The pain was spreading through his body. Then his mouth began to mutter words again but not the normal ones.
"Fate is fragile. Fate is pure. Fate is a weapon." He voiced deepened.
"Everyone is balanced on fragile strings of pureness." His body began to shift. His clothes forming over him again.
"I will use those threads and cut their lifelines from them." His face grinned.
The black robes that normally formed over him began to dye themselves a dark crimson. His hood wrapped itself around his mouth, instead of coming over his head, becoming a strange scarf of sorts. Symbols of eyes covered it down to the ends.
He landed on the ground with a thud as the strings holding him up snapped. He slowly opened his left eyes first. Its white had became piecing and as he glimsed at the dark future he smiled. Then he slowly opened his right eye. Its blackness was so empty. As he looked at the world now, the present, he smiled at the suffering.
"vomica deus" He muttered to himself.
He then turned to hear a voice from a distance. He gripped the blade hidden in his robes. He could rememeber ever having it but if this was an enemy he would know it. He walked forward calm and powerful. As he got to a clearing he saw her.
"Who are you?" he said to her.

He found it easier to talk now that she didn't have that overpowering joy around her, not that he felt particularly good about that fact. "I'm sorry but I can't afford it. Its out of my hands." It was true. His parents only sent him the bare minimum amount of money to keep from getting jailed for criminal negligence of their child. The sketch was almost useless for him, sadly. He wasn't nearly familiar enough with the city to be able to recognize streets and houses by sight unless they were on his route to and from college, he never strayed from that path.

He stood there for a moment gradually absorbing the large scoop of insanity that had be slapped in front of him. He was already in the process of taking her back to her house, should he just lie to expedite that process, knowing once he returned her he probably wouldn't see her again. Should he be honest and tell her she was crazy? Should he just walk away?

However, it didn't take long to come to his conclusion. Samael was honest past the point of it being a fault, to being completely rude.

Willow- As she stepped out of her shower, steam rolled out behind her. She had been doing homework for 3 hours when she had decided she needed a break. She wrapped herself in her robe and opened the window, sitting on the small chair in front of her vanity and leaning back. Her wet hair dripped all over the floor, but she just sat with her eyes closed, thinking. She opened her eyes and looked out the window and as she watched the city grow dim, she saw the black sillouette of something flying in the distance...

Tyler- Tyler was almost home. He had been on his way earlier but had decided to stop someplace and eat first, seeing as he hadnt been grocery shopping in about three weeks. He was approuching the final block to his house when two guys rounded the corner, coming towards him. He wasnt sure but they seemed slightly familiar. As he got closer, one of them glanced up at him.

"Hey, your in the photography class, arent you?" he said, his voice loud. The guy with him looked up also, his eyes flashing momentarily in the failing light.

Tyler, taken aback for a moment by the recognition, slowly nodded and replied, "Yes, I am. Why?"

"Oh, its just good to recognize similiars, you know?" said the man in his booming voice. A goofy grin spread across his face. "My names Tristan, by the way, and this here is Jean. He's a priss from France." At the last comment, Jean's head snapped sideways as he glared at Tristan. His hand came up and forcefully but playfully knocked into Tristans side, which made Tristan laugh at his own failed dodging attempt.

"My names Tyler." He looked around them at his apartment just down the street. He didnt want to be rude but he still wanted to go home.

Tristan noticed this and understanding seemed to cross his face. "Nice to meet you. We'll see you around, okay? Later Tyler!" Tristan said and then politely moved to the side for Tyler to pass.

Tyler nodded his good-byes and stepped around them. He glanced back warily once but Tristan and Jean were walking the other way. He let out a sigh of relief, glad that nothing was amis and pulled out his key to his apartment building.

"Psst....Kat"

She looked over at Tama and nodded. She knew if she answered him she would look even more crazy then she looked now.

"There's a spirit inside that boy...."

She gave Tama a look like he was insane. He was like the last person on earth she would ever suspect to have any sort of spiritual powers and what not.

" And it's some how drained us of our powers. I think that's why he can't hear me talk, and if I'm correct you can't transform at all."

A chill ran down through Kat's spine. She suddenly felt cold and sick to her stomach.

This TOTALLY sucks. I can't believe I told him all that stuff and now he thinks I'm a total nut job. What's worse is he'll never understand.

She looked up at the passing streetlights. Some were flickering on and off as they walked under.

You know, maybe it isn't all that bad. If I hang around him.....I actually might have a chance at being........................normal.

Its me Reina. "Dont you remember me?" She started to walk slowly towards him. she could sense that something was wrong, off, it was strange. he looked at her as if she was a stranger.
i've been looking for you.you ra off so quickly that i didnt get a chance to help you find your friend. why did you leave? she walked up to him and held his hand.
just then she had a flash of images.it stunned her, she was alittle off balance.she felt his anger, all the rage that was building up in him, but she couldn't figure out why.
"Is it because she's missing?"she asked.we'll find her, you have to calm down. Something in your spirit has changed and its too much. YOu have to be careful. She started talking about his shifting. Her speech was robotic and she stared off into his eyes.
It was as if she was taking a journey though his thoughts. She knew that something was wrong.
"You will reach this power. It is destined to be yours but not this way. you have to stop. it will hurt you. let it go."
she fell to her knees.
After a few seconds she recognised that he was still there so she got up.
"What are we still doing here? we have someone to look for."
She was puzzled at why he stared at her so but she figured must have just been his disbelief that she would want to help.
"well what are we waiting for?"

Kairos cursed.
"Vomica Deus." He muttered. He then pushed the girl forward and against a tree. He pinned her in place and looked into her eyes. Both of his turned slowly around glancing through her.
"You will keep yourself to yourself." He treatened her, "I don't need your help nor did I ask for it." He pressed harder keeping her pinned to the tree. His hand was tempting with the hidden blade but he thought against it.
"More importantly you will never mention her again." He released his grip and walked back away from her. His anger was radiating out of him and seemed to be scaring her a bit.
"Vomica Deus" He muttered again as he went to walk off. A thought made him stop. He could reconise the voice as the one who helped him. But more importantly he reconised an ability not unlike his.
"You could be of use." He called out to her over his shoulder, "It's your fate to do as you please." He waited for her response.

She stood to her feet, dusted herself off and walked to his side.

"Well for now, you can borrow my clothes and then we will head out first thing in the morning after breakfast for clothes and other things for you. You should probably shower after all that happened today." Kevin said as he poured two glasses of milk and consumed one of them. "Whew, I'm full. I'll go get some things ready for you that way after your shower, you have some of my clothes." He went to his room and got some boxers, sweats, a tee, socks and a robe and set them on the counter next to the sink in the bathroom. "Everything's all ready for you, Hana."

Hana blushed as she walked quickly into the bathroom. She closed the door and sighed, feeling a little less stressed. Making sure the stitches were fine, she showered quickly, welcoming the warm water. She sighed again as she threw on the clothes Kevin gave her to borrow. She felt like she was lost in them because the were a bigger then what she usually wore.

She walked outside and looked around again. It was so hard for her to get use to being in a completely different apartment. She thought over the whole day again and was surprised she was wasn't more tired then she was.

Finding Kevin, she smiled widely, "Well, at least they fit, right?" She lifted her arms and looked herself up and down, "Anyway, what should we do now? Surprisingly, I'm not that tired. I guess that's 'cause I slept while I waited for you."

As they walked Samael asked various people whether they knew where the house that Kat had sketched was located but it seemed no one was able to recall it. He sighed to himself about the futility of this quest but continued on. There wasn't anything for it. He had no option but to find her home, since if she stayed another day, he would starve before his next allowance came.

He looked over at her, "you recognize anything yet?"

Dean grinned to himself as he leaned against the door to the apartment. He'd lazily rapped against it the moment before, but it seemed like Cara wasn't home. He kicked at the duffel bag, moving it away from the hallway where a young college boy struggled to pull past a keg. He marked the apartment the boy entered, thinking that perhaps if Cara didn't show up soon that he could invite himself to the party.

In all rights, he should just go back to his and Jacki's apartment, since he'd paid his share of the rent for at least 6 more days. He wouldn't do that to her, making her bear his presence might change her mind about the friendship they had settled into.

A group of girls wandered past, giggling and glancing at the man imposing the hall. If Dean wasn't mistaken, he recognized one from his Arabic class. She paused for a moment as his eyes raked her over, ignoring the tug of her friend's hand on her arm, "Professor Matthews! Um.. so, you meeting someone here?"

"Not anymore. It seems as though she isn't coming home anytime soon. How are you liking class, ..."

"Lynn," she supplied with a blush. "Want to join us? Just for a teensy beer."

Three hours later, Dean was stumbling along the path to Lynn's apartment building, duffel bag slung over his shoulder. He pulled the girl closer, rubbing his hand through her curls nonchalantly. What an inconvient way she'd chosen to lead him, through the alleys of the city.

Hana noticed he was deep in though as he showed her the tapes. What could he possibly be thinking about? He's such a mystery to me and I guess that's why I like him so much...Did I just think that? "There it is! There it is! I'm home!!!" Kat grabbed Samael by the hand and she ran to her house. It was at the very end of the street they were walking on. She rand to the front door with excitement, and then swung it open.

"I'm home, Okaa-san!!"

Her mother got up from the table in the living room and gave her a big and started weeping.

"Sweetie! Where have you been! I've been so worried!"

"It's alright, I'm fine now."

Kat's mother looked over at Samael and then at Kat.

"He looks like a college student, how come you didn't bring home a rich boyfriend? You could've a least snagged a rich one while you were gone."

"Okaa-san!!"

Kat and her mother started to yell at each other in Japanese for awhile, and she then went outside and slammed the front door.

"eheheheh....sorry about my mother." she said with while letting out a big sigh.

She looked at Samael with a smile. "Thank you for helping me find my way home. You're a real nice guy. I would think anyone else would leave me for dead.....Oh, by the way, I never got your name. Mine is Kat." ^___^

Willow-As the figure quickly disappeared into the horizon, she heard a shout from somewhere down the street. Peeking her head out of the window, she saw one of her neighbors pulling a boy toward her house. She had seen the girl before but the boy was a new sight. She wondered about it for a second but went back to her vanity. She began combing her long hair with a miticulous stroke, working the brush through every knot with painful slowness.

Tyler- Tyler sat down on the couch with a plop. He opened the soda he had grabbed from the fridge and turned out his TV. He flipped through the stations till he found something to watch but his mind quickly drifted off. Why had those guys intorduced themselves just now? They had had plenty of chances before but had never bothered. It was such odd timing.

Samael just shrugged, "Eh, it needed to be done." It was true, this was an unavoidable occurance, he really didn't deserve any praise. It was beneficial to all concerned. He didn't have to try and support another person on his allowance, and she was returned to her mother... though her relationship with her mom seemed complicated. He couldn't imagine that... he didn't really know his mother, they only talked a few times a month. She was a scientist, like his dad, a brilliant one at that. But she, and his father, had always been, distant, to Samael.

"Oh... I'm Samael Samigina."

"Um, before you go, I have a favor to ask."

Tama jumped out of Kat's window which was above the front door and he had a magazine in his mouth and gave it to Kat. She then gave it to Samael. It appeared to be your ordinary cosmo girl magazine.

"Could you possibly teach me how to read English? You wouldn't be doing it for free....."

She innocently lowered her head and her eyes looked up at Samael. "I know that you don't have very much food at home, so I figured in return I could make you a bento lunch everyday."

I will provide the books. I won't be touching pop culture non-sense language." She seemed to have noticed his whole food situation, or lack there of, and in all honesty he could really use the food. So he figured he wouldn't mind teaching a bit if it got him another meal. Then he could use the money he saved to buy more books!

"Just come by whenever." he said waving his hand over his shoulder and walking off.

"Thank you!!!!!" Kat yelled out while waving at Samael. ^___^

When Samael got far enough away, Kat's ears and tail immediately popped out.

"Aiya! I wish what I told him really was crazy." -__-

Instead of going back inside right away she decided to effortlessly jump up on the roof and stare up at the stars. She had the magazine in hand and looked at it with confusion.

"pop culture nonsense language? hmmm....."

when it came to western culture Kat was fairly ignorant. It all seemed so strange to her. The only reason she had the cosmo girl magazine was because her mother bought it for her. Before her move, she was immersed in Japanese tradition when living with her family, so she really didn't get a chance to learn about anything else. A breeze kicked in and blew the magazine out of her hands. It slowly drifted to the ground and Kat watched as it moved like a tumble weed down the street.

"Hey, Tama chan?"

Tama's ears purked up "Nya?"

"Do you think the spirit inside Samael is evil? Or do you think it's a good spirit that's trying to protect him?"

Tama yawned and stretch. "Nya, beats me. All I can say is good luck trying to convince him you're not off your rocker."

Long after Dean had fallen asleep, drooping with one leg and arm over the side of the bed to get away from the woman who insisted on cuddling even in her sleep, his skin darkened suddenly. With a flicker, he opened his eyes to reveal the pure black insides. Grinning, the spirit licked his lip, running a hand over the bare leg of the woman next to it.

Slowly, with a deep kiss, he began to draw out the energy of Lynn, until he possessed it all. As the woman's body began growing cold, the spirit transmuted his back, wings bursting forth and shedding the mucus sack that protected them while in his back.

The spirit launched itself out of the window, after having the forethought to gather up Dean's things. While on the wind, it whispered, echoes floating through space for those who knew to hear it, "Asmodeus is back, my loves."

I don't know where exactly, but through you i can sense her.You two have become connected somehow.
She's not hurt but she worries about you. Maybe if you told me more about your friend. Anything even just a name or if you have something of hers that would help.
I could use it as a beacon to find where she is.
"So is there anything you can tell me? Things that makes her stand out, her personal signature."

Kairos acted quickly. Just a mention was causing his blood to boil all over again. He pressed Reina up against another tree and this time drew his blade and pressed it lightly against her neck. Kairos understood she could see the future but he had the more direct power.
"I thought I told you not to mention her." He pushed his weight against Reina keeping her pinned. Bloodlust was mixing with the rage in his body now. "Do you have a death wish?"
He was clearly causing her pain but he had kept the blade from slitting her throat. in fact he didn't know what kept him from doing so. Slowly he felt something press against him. Like a soft hand it pulled him away.
He fell to his knees. It was her he was sure now even apart she was with him. His rage was getting the better of him and he was about to do something he would regret.
"Forgive me." he bowed respectfully. He then looked up at Reina, "Its not safe to be travelling with me."
He punched the ground. The pain was harsh but he felt like a part of him had been lost. Now he felt like it was tring to slowly crawl back pushing its way through the rage. The pain helped him calm down.
"Vomica Deus." he cursed. "Get lost now." He shouted at her.
He looked up into her eyes and saw a harsh determination that told him instantly what the reply would be without his powers.
"Her name is...s...ss...Sally" he forced it out of his mouth while trying to keep his cool.

"This might be a little more difficult than i first thought."
"Okay lets try this again"
It took a while but she started to see chopped images. She was in an old building. It was dark and she was alone.
She seemed out of it, very worried.

"we have to hurry and please can we keep the attacks to a minimum i know your in pain but you have to control yourself. If your going to be of any help to her you'll have to be in control or you'll just scare her more."

Returning home, Samael got to work on his homework as he usually did. He wondered what kind of food he could expect. The girl seemed like a bit of an airhead, so he worried that she might burn something, but then cooking didn't seem to him to be an intellectually taxing endeavor. (I'll just post this for once instead of going through someone. Since I think the currently active posters are now all in the same timeframe).

Across Kapok you hear sirens start wailing. First just some in the distance, not too unusual. But then more. And helicopters too. This gets your attention, but you also feel a strange unease, and perhaps a tugging. Even Samael (though he may attribute it to some bad milk or whatnot).

There are at the moment four points where things seem to be converging. One where the helicopters are mostly heading. Another where you can see the dim outline of a column of smoke against the night sky. Another where the sires seem to be converging on a stationary point. And final fourth one where the sirens are mobile.

(and number of people will be getting other info via PM).

They flashed across his mind like knifes. He tried to focus and as he did his eyes began to change colour, becoming a dark gray as if the two were blending together.
The sirens were killing him. The noise and the pain was increasingly getting to much. He felt like stabbing his brain in order to make it stop but then things began to clear. He saw shapes and people, he saw things he wasn't meant to.
He then saw something. It that instant he found he was only able to do one thing.

"Oh, okay." She felt bad having him run out to get milk just for her. She realized the wind shifted dramatically and it caught her off guard. After Kevin left, she jumped from her seat and looked out the window.

She didn't see much, but a tall pillar of smoke caught her attention. Normally she wouldn't think much about it but the shift in the wind was enough to make her think twice. She ran back to Kevin's room and looked at her clothes. There was no chance of her climbing back into her shirt for there was a little blood on the side. She thought a few minutes before remembering what Kevin said. He'll be back soon. And, if I run off, what will he think? I'm not sure what to do but I have a feeling somethings happening. Maybe if I left a note...

She thought a little longer. She tossed her skirt back on and left Kevins shirt on. She found pen and paper and jotted down a quick note. She looked it over and tried to decide if she was making the right decision. She left the note on the table and decided to wait a few minutes before running out.

She heard a few not far from her apartments but what really caught her attention was that there were helicopters near by. She had never heard helicopters so close to the university. She got up and looked out her window. As she gazed around, she could see the large pillar of smoke in the distance.

Tyler- While contemplating the sudden interest some of his peers had taken in him, he began to hear sirens. Far away at first but obviously in the city and getting somewhere fast. as soon as the sirens went, she knew exactly where to head to a small offshore cove, she leaped into the air as the spot light nearly missed her she threw an explosive at one of the helicopters sending it thundering down to the ground. she flapped her wings to momentarily enjoy the chaos, she flew up to another one of the helicopters, looked into the eyes of the pilot her eyes flashed black ,
tell your friends that im heading north
the pilot nodded and spoke into speaker , then headed of .
she giggled how weak are the minds of men the flew of southward.

If people aren't going to any of the sites after about ten minutes or so calls start coming in from appropriate relatives or other NPCs that have appropriate contact info for your character. The sirens are waking people up. The news is confused but images of fair numbers of people on stretchers and the fire are starting to make it onto the "special reports" the stations with news crews are running.

If you go investigate one of the four either PM me or post your approach.

If you aren't interested in investigating only one of you has to deal with them, but you might post in the OOC thread that you aren't planning to do anything. If nobody is going than we could just move on to the next day.

Also you hear the helicopters heading north, but a bit on the slow side.

Sirens wailed. Banshies singing in the night. Deeping the blackness outside of Samael's window. The shrillness sent vibrations across the glass as he gently pressed his fingers against the pane, looking out from his apartment.

Familiar. So very familiar. This sensation was more easily recognized to Samael than his' mother's face. Something very much like this had happened before. Only that time there had been more screams, more fire, and more earth-shattering light. A blazing mid-day sun had appeared for a moment that night, bright and baleful.

He stepped out of his apartment and leaned on the balcony outside of it. Staring into the night as wind swept about him carrying smoke into his nostrils. Yes, this had happened before. Only this was a tame apparition of that night.

But, that was then, and this was now.

He walked down the stairs to the street and walked toward the smoke. It was something of a pillgrimage for him. Returning to his axis mundi to reorder his life around it after having gone... had it really been 10 years... with out it.

But this was a different event, he tried to remind himself. This column of ashes and smoke was not like the other, he could reach this one. Last time he had walked from his home to the edge of Malta and the cloud was still distant, looming above Salerno like a tombstone to science.

Kat jumped from roof to roof to the sound of the sirens. As she got closer she could see the smoke billowing into the skies.

"What are you doing Nya!!!!" Tama yelled while clinging to her shoulder.

" I wanna know what's going on. Something doesn't seem right to me."

"Well duh!!!!! There's a fire!!!! That's obviously not normal!!!! why are we running to danger!!!!!????

She now reached the source of the smoke, and while jumping in mid air between roofs, her ears and tail disappeared along with her feline nimbleness. As a result she didn't make it to the next roof and hit the ground hard.

"OOOOOWWWWW!!! of all the times my powers had to disappear, why did it have to be in the middle of the air!!!!"

News crews and reporters where running around all over the place, and it seemed like utter chaos as people were screaming and injured people were wandering the streets.

Mabey it's a good thing that my powers disappeared in front of all these people. It's a little odd though. The only time that's ever happened was.............Oh my god, is Samael here? Why would he be here? What the hell is going on?

She had not recognised what was happing to him. She was sidetracked by all the sirens. She steeres off into the sky several helicopter flew overhead.
"Thank GOD we're still in the woods"
She recovered from her daze to see Kairos behind her on the ground. It wasn't good. Something was wrong with him."We dont have time for this. Sally's needs us now. It appears the helicopter is coming from her direction."

"Are you okay? Can we continue?"

"Laus Deus indeed." Kairos said as he stood up. "We have to get moving. I saw her. She is in trouble." He pointed to the smoke rising up in the sky. "we have to check these things out. I can't pin point her but she might be involved." He grabbed Reina by the arm. "Lets go." He ran with her using his eye to avoid the trips and falls.

Asmodeus peered at the other things he saw in the air. What were they? He rummaged through Dean's mind, until he'd found it. Helicopters. Could he explore what they were doing before sunrise, when Dean would have the strength to take over his own body?

Sure, why the hell not. He used a power swoop to change his direction, heading north as quickly as he could. Before he reached them, he spotted a maid's uniform, flying in his direction. Flying in his direction?

He quickly dispersed some of the light in the air, allowing his own black body to blend in. As the other spirit tried to pass him, he reached out and grabbed her. "Oh, you are delicious," he whispered. Asmodeus quickly applied his persuasion to the other spirit, boosted by the fact that it was female.

"You.. you want to chat with me. Let's go somewhere comfortable, maybe cuddle a bit," Asmodeus purred, his power of persuasion poring through the air.

she licked her blood covered lips," I'll chat , but you'll have to get to know me before you get to cuddle ". she flapped her wings breaking away from Asmodeus, she flew away still heading south . "follow me mister persuasive".

Getting into the shadows, Kevin began making a mad dash towards the sirens in wolf form, laying low by staying in alleys to keep from being seen. I must find out what that is before anything. I know Hana's okay. She wouldn't do anything stupid. That's enough of thinking like that though. He finally reached the sirens and decided to watch from a distance to see what was going on as he shifted back to a human to go out in the open again. He takes a closer look and spots the wolf he met earlier. It's him!!! What the hell is he doing here this time?

"Well, they seemed to have herded him in though I doubt that will be much of a burden."

"Ey, Whot dyu fink 'our lookin' at!!!!"is what the wolf said he leaped up and snatched a redheaded woman who looked to be college student age and in pink pajamas out of a fourth story window who was watching, thinking she was safe up there.

She screamed at the top of her lungs as she got drug along by her arm. Cops stopped shooting for a bit to not risk hurting her.

"Back into the woods, huh? I guess it's time to call for reinforcements. Back into the alley..." Kevin said as he shifted into his wolf form again. He let out a sharp howl different from his normal howl. Five black wolves appeared as a result. One of them was much bigger than the others and had a red X on its forehead. Surely it was the Alpha...the king of the city.

"You have a red V on your forehead and I have a red X on mine. There for you are my younger brother, Kevin. Why have you called me? Is it to fight me again? You'll just lose aga-"

"SHUT IT, CRAIG!!! Yes I did call you. I need your help with something despite us not being on good terms. A large, white wolf was causing trouble just around the corner and dragged a redhead into the woods. I suspect he's the Lord of the forest. I need to get that girl back. I'd feel like crap if I didn't."

"So...you're finally lookin' to get a piece, huh? Heh, I knew you had it in you. It's in our blood. Let's move. You lead."

In this fashion, Kevin had Craig and four more black wolves as backup. They followed the white wolf into the woods back to the same meeting place Kevin met him before.

Hana heard the sirens as they got louder and decided she couldn't wait anymore. She ran out the door, closing and locking it behind her. She raced out of the hall and out of the building as she stared at the pillar of smoke. There was something telling her not to go but she knew she couldn't stand back and watch.

As she got closer, she had to push her way past people who were running in the opposite direction. There were others laying on stretchers being rushed from the scene. Hana glanced around her, staring at the news crews covering every piece of news.

That's when it caught her eye. The wolf who attack her before. She grabbed her side remembering everything. But she wasn't going to let that stop her. She watched as the wolf dragged off a woman into the wolds. A similar wolf came out with others and Hana swore there was something familiar about it.

She shrugged it off and decided she had to help.

Asmodeus frowned slightly as the spirit broke away, the energy of the woman had been tickling his hand in a pleasant way. He hesitated for a moment, after she'd agreed to accompany with him. He was still interested in those.. helicopters.

"Sorry, love. Just need to make something wait for me," he replied, as he snapped out of his thoughts. With a duck of his head, he pressed his lips quickly to her blood covered ones, pulling out more energy in a second than he could in a minute with a mortal.

Before she could pull away, he casually flicked the energy at one of the helicopters, causing a propeller to turn into a feather. As the machine careened down to the ground, attempting to land in water, Asmodeus started off in the direction the other spirit had begun.

"Coming?" he asked over his shoulder, pointing to a looming clocktower where he intended to perch. It was quite convient for those who had wings, with a pretty overhang just below the glowing 6 on the clock face.

As Kairos got close to the burning houses he suddenly felt weak. He had to be careful if he shifted back he would be helpless and blind. The thought of losing his shifter was haunting. He wanted to stay in this form forever and help those around him. It was something Sally would have approved off.
As he got closer he reconised the place from his early vision. He knew were to look. He ran forward into the buildings as the flames roared. Using his power he avoid the falling parts and dangerous flames. Digging further he found some drunks and began dragging them to safety. This was a risk but he knew that there was these and others to find.
As he got them out he called to rein to help them. He looked to another house inside was the family. His vision was beggining to show him no way of getting them out. But he had to try. It was hard when his eyes kept showing them dieing. To see it over and over was painful. A part of him knew this shouldn't be happening to someone of his age.
But he summoned his courage and pushed his way into the burning and fought his way through the flames. He got the basement and knocked open the door. The panicing family was scared by his approach.
"Don't worry I'm here to help you." He shouted over the roar of the flames. He grabbed the two youngest first, at the request of the mother. They ggripped his tight and he tpook them through the flames. Protecting them from the smoke with his robes. He noticed now that it had returned to its normal black. He felt it was because he had stopped being selfish. He got out with only a few burns on himself. Some firefighters came to take the kids from him as the clutched to his robe. He then heard a bang. He went to turn to go back in when the walls collapsed and he stood there watching the mother and father die for certian this time. With the two young daughters still gripping to his robes crying for their mother and father he learnt down and hugged them both close. Tears weeping from his eyes too.

Samael drew closer to the fire, pushing past people haphazardly who got in his way. Whispers were spreading among the crowds, whispers of fear. Insanity was oozing through the crowd. How else could one explain this talk of a wolf attacking people? A wolf? Idiots would believe anything. Kapok was so far out the habitat of north american wolves it wasn't even funny. Even Coyotes didn't exist on this idiotic little island.

He sighed, such stupidity, was contagious. He decided he'd better leave before he caught it. Looking at pathetic fire he had journey so far to see, (a few buildings? This wasn't the Salerno disaster by a long shot) he began to head back towards his room.No reason to lets this get in the way of his homework.

Willow- She hurried down the street. She wanted to see what had caught fire. She could see the helicopters buzzing away in the distance and as she watched them, she ran smack into some poor guy walking the other way. As she flew down onto her back side, she let out a small squel. She stood up in a second and was helping him to his feet as tears stung her eyes from the forming bruise on her lower back.

"My goodness, I'm so sorry! I'm so clumsy! I should watch where I'm going!" That was when she caught a sight of his face. It was the face of the boy that had been with her neighbor earlier that day. She blushed and started apologizing again. "So terribly, terribly sorry!"

Tyler- He whipped out his cell phone and quickly dialed Willows number. He had been flipping through the channels when he'd seen on the news about the fires. He had to make sure she wasnt galivanting about trying to see what was going on.

The phone rang eight times before the anwsering machine kicked on. Willows cheery voice greeted him "Hey! Its Willow, and I cant come to the phone right now. "Willow, if you're there, pick up right now! I really hope you didnt go getting yourself into trouble. If you dont anwser, I'm coming over. You have till the count of five. 1...2...3...4...5... Fine! "Ahh, the sounds of sorrow coming from sirens...I guess it's time to go check things out." Roki marks the beginning of his destiny as he ran out of the silent library. Just to be sure, he locked the doors and went outside. He looked around as he saw the havoc and chaotic area around him. "There's no time for looking, I've got to do something and help."

He ran a bit faster and saw a girl looking who was looking at a scene where the people were on stretchers. The she ran as quickly as she could and Roki decides to follow her until she stopped and noticed a wolf dragging a woman into the woods. "What in the necromancer is going on there? Hmm..." He quickly goes after the wolf into the woods. "And where does it think its going?" He sprinted ahead and as he ran faster, he was trying to think of a plan on how to rescue the lady and at the same time, not harming her. Roki pulls out his book and gets ready.

"WHAT!!!????? A GIANT WOLF YOU SAY?!!???!?!?!!"

"Right, numerous witnesses said they saw a giant wolf." The policeman said as he directed traffic.

I wonder if it could be the same wolf from the other day? That is so bizarre.

"Nya! Kat, we should probably head back! I have a bad feeling about this."

Kat nodded to Tama. " Right. I don't think I want to run into that thing again."

She then proceeded to walk back to the house, being very cautious of the surroundings around her. She couldn't afford to have the wolf find her and chase her around town again and get lost. She also had the feeling that Samael was in the area, and if the wolf were to come back for another attack , there would be no way for her to defend herself. He can supress the spiritual powers of a person, but not the power of a wild beast........right?

As Roki ran into the woods, police officers yelled, "Are you nuts? Why are you going in there?". The parked their cars in front to prevent him from coming in, however he simply jumped gently passed them. "Sorry if I dent your hood mister," apologized Roki as he sprints into the woods. He lost a bit of time, good thing he had his senses active for he would have lost them. Roki slows down due to the fact that he heard some noises, could it be a fight? only one way to find out he thought.

As Roki walks behind from tree to tree avoiding to get caught, he noticed from afar that there were two wolves fighting. He used his senses to see that the other wolves are distracted to the right of him and to the left was the lady. However, her arm was seriously injured and the damage is severe. he remembers that this woman is one of his classmates in the same university as he is.

"Hey, it's okay I'm here to help," Roki whispers as he wraps his blazer around her wounded area.
"Thank you for helping me,hey arent you-" the woman said.
"-Good thing we are in the same class huh?" he smiled kindlyand interrupted, "Shh...dont want the wolves to hear us. I want you to stay here, just trust me okay?". The woman agrees and stayed there quietly enduring the pain.

There was only one primary objective in his mind and that was to rescue her from any more danger. To do that he must fight the wolves so that they wont come back for the woman later. Roki already knew that these wolves can probably smell the blood of the woman if he left and would have tracked her down.

He was two trees behind the wolves and began to cast his Dark Vulcan spell. One of the wolves turns around and saw Roki casting. Roki runs back behind trees and tries to dodge the wolf's bite attacks. There goes his plan about attacking both. He then said with a smile,"So my battle starts eh? this is gonna be fun and amusing indeed." Roki stops and turns around, the wolf stops also as if it's getting ready to strike. Roki quickly prepares for another spell...

Reina was preoccupied with the other homes. She tried to draw the flames and relinquish the fire but something was wrong. she dampened the flames but they weren't going out completely. She felt herself wavering. she wasn't sure of what was happening. she looked around but she couldn't find it;that thing that was pulling her powers. She ran over to Kairos and saw him with the young girls.
He was crying and she instantly forgot about her own pain." Whats going on?"The two girls looked scared. "What do we do with them?" There is still alot to do plus we haven't located Sally yet.

"Be strong." He told them. They looked at him with sdaness in thier eyes but not fear.
"Be strong for your parents. Ok?" They both looked up at him. They nodded though still crying.
He turned to the crowd. They were all looking at him and Reina in shock. He slowly looked at them all.
"Don't worry." He took a calming breath, "We are shifters here to help." The crowd didn't look convinced. Soon some insults started up and someone threw something at him. He desided not to dodge it. As the crowd began to become aggressive the two girls stepped up and shout for the crowd to stop. The crowd began to listen after a few moments but Kairos knew he would have to leave. He walked over to Reina and took her by the hand. She seemed as weak as him. He whispered to her.
"We need to go. We have done what we can. I have something we must talk about." He walked off with her. The girls called out to them both and with a sad face he turned to them and said good bye.

When they were far enough away he let go of Reina and let her lean against a tree.
"We have a problem. I don't know if you have seen it but someone is trying to destroy us." he paused, "By us I mean our shifter forms." He took in a deep breath. "I saw it in a vision. The sky will light up with a powerfull blast and our shifters will be destroyed completely. Someone is planning something and as much as I may want to go after Sally right now I need to think about more then just myself. We have to get word to all the shifters we can find. We have to warn them that someone somewhere is trying to destroy us."
He too leant against a tree. "What other shifters do you know? can you warn them?"

11-10-2008, 11:46 AM
I understand what your saying and you're right we can't just think about our personal mission because all of have a common threat and we should spread the word.

I know Rain or should i say i had an encounter with Rain. He's usually at his grandfather's bakery and I do remember passing by a bookstore where some other shifters were congregating. Im not sure if it was a coincidence that they were all there but those are the only two places that I've ever encountered any other shifter.

"Do you know any?" I think we should split up. You can check the library and i'll go to the bakery or if there is somewhere else that you know shifters to hang out then you can go there.
After we finish our respective tasks we can meet back at the house and carry anyone that you warn so we can come up with a preemptive strike if possible.

OH but you don't know where the house is. At the time I found you, you were blind but its hard to miss it. Its a big old house at the edge of the woods. Its not in too deep but its cleverly hidden behind several trees.

When you're approaching be sure to look out for Rai. He's always wtching the house. He might confront you but he's harmless so just ignore him. He has it in his head that he's taking care of me.
Be careful we have enemies all around.

There was a pang of pain in her chest as she felt the wind move again. This time, she knew all to well it was connected to kevin somehow. She turned in a circle looking for the right place to hid and ducked into an alley way. There, she shifted in to the black outfit, the staff appearing in her hand. She knew she had a better chance of finding Kevin that way. She ran along the alley, listening intently to the changing wind. He was there and she knew it. A tear fell down her cheek as she ran. Where are you, Kevin? There's something wrong. I can feel it.

She stopped in her tracks as she heard it. Hana, where are you? I need you here with me. He was close.

A helicopter exploded and fell to the earth as she raced towards a building. The wind was building up from there and she could feel it rush away from the closed door.

She shoved the door open and gasped. There, crumbled against the wall was Kevin. He was breathing heavily and he was bleeding badly. Hana collapsed to her knees beside him. She pulled him closer to her and ran her hand through his hair. "I'm so sorry. I should've been there to help. If only I had left sooner. Maybe I could've helped." She looked down at him. She looked around. There was a payphone in the hallway but she knew she couldn't have him stand and walk over. Then she remembered the phone in her pocket. She hoped that just because she shifted, didn't mean the phone disappeared also. Patting the sides of her skirt, she felt the cell phone and yanked it out. I'm the prince when it comes down to that. I have a large, red V on my forehead in wolf form." He dialed a strange number and said, "Hello, major? It's corporal Maxford. I'm injured right now. Cops hit me in an attempt to take down some wolves. Is it possible to request some MPs to arrest and detain these cops and get a strike force to carry something out for me? If so, I'm at 20 Lakeview Road in Kapok inside an apartment building. Get a Chinook, two APCs, riflemen, and a couple field medics here. I'll explain the reason later once the situation is under control." He turned to Hana, handed the phone back and said, "Don't take me to a hospital. I got a small squad of riflemen and medics coming soon."

The girl stood there watching them and Hana realized she must have noticed the cat ears and tail.

Jumping to her feet, Hana stood in front of Kevin to protect him. She aimed her staff at the girl in defense. "Who are you and what do you want?" She shouted to her loud enough for her to hear through the door.

The other wolf who was distracted, saw his partner and Roki getting ready to fight. Both were running, except one was closer to me. "Alright, this will hurt quite a bit....but this is for the best." He had finished casting, "Arcanus Vulanis!" he shouts, as the 4 arrows hit the wolf's body. The remaining one was too fast, so it pushed him towards a bush while ripping his leg off. "I knew this happened...didn't expect this guy to be so fast." He then shot the wolf's back and the wolf retreated. The woman watched Roki the whole time and screamed due to the fact that she just witnessed his leg being torn apart. He clenched his teeth really hard because of that pain. Without hesitation, he quickly used hi long-sleeve shirt in order to wrap his painful leg from the excessive bleeding.

"My my, I'm in a terrible position in.....agh....horrific pain." Instead of jumping, he crawled all the way to the woman. "I can't believe this is all I could do..." Roki was suddenly slowing down due to the pain and decides to stop half way near the woman. He lies down and turns his body so he can see the sky, "I hope they brought reinforcements here. What I feel sorry of is this lady having to witness all of these things around her."

Yoru, Kevin, Hana, and any new players who haven't jumped in yet and choose to be are within the redhead's impressive scream radius. And she isn't letting up.

The cops hear it too, but even now they're only starting to cautiously push into the words in tight formation. Some people visible in the streets and windows are visibly shaken by the noise (many start moving inside).

Samael let himself move away from where the chaos was. The police didn't seem to want him in there, and he didn't really want to be in there. The sentiments of both parties converged.

He moved back towards his home. People were panicking and screaming. It was all kind of hellish, but it didn't phase him all that much. He'd experienced worse. A rain of fire and stone. Still, he found himself moving at a brisker pace then normal and feeling a bit jittery. But that was to be expected of a human in his situation.

Besides, this all sounded like fighting of some kind. Samael wasn't a fighter. He was even the shadow of a fighter. He was just a bookish boy, with a mind that didn't get spun around by non-sense. Non-sense like spirits and wolves.

"Really?" She took in everything he said on the phone and thought about it for a moment. He was calling in special forces. Knowing he could over whelmed her a bit. Sunstar stepped out of the shadows from a nearby tree and stood there looking to Roki and the young woman. Her blue gaze flashed lightly as she watched them. She had come out before the sirens and sat in a tree, but when the sirens sounded she took to the shadows. It was easy for her to hide in them due to the color she wore.

She had come out into the forest because she liked the peace and quiet, then she found out that there were others. She stepped out because she wanted them to know she was there. She looked at the scene and groaned softly stepping past the woman and stopping just two inches short of Roki's current postion. She bent down and asked in her eerie yet melodic voice, "Are you alright?"

The female usually didn't talk to anyone save for her friend Kurt who was actually standing behind the tree Sunstar had just left. He poked his head out and looked at the scene. He stepped forward and pace and said, "Hey Sunstar, everything alright?" His voice was crisp and friendly, not like the female's.

Sunstar gave him the hand gesture for 'Wait a moment' and looked to Roki with a hint of concern in her eyes. She didn't know why she was so concerned, she had only seen him in the halls a few times. She didn't even know his name so why should she care.

She pushed a few strands of her black hair out of her face and waited patiently for the male to answer her as Kurt stepped out in full view.

He was a bit shocked at first but then smiled because he finally got some support, "Heh...reinforcements already? You guys are pretty early." Roki coughs and and bit his lips because of jolt of pain that came from the leg. "Please do me a favor, and could you find my leg? It's around the area somewhere. If not then the wolf must have taken it, but I doubt it would go that far." Roki realizes that he recognized her face before. "Have I seen you from some place?" Truthfully, he wasn't in it for the talk, but he was just mainly concerned about the shocked woman who was hiding near the bush. "Comfort the lady over there first, I think she needs more help than I do."

Roki slowly gets up using up his energy so he can go to the woman, but he lost balanced and fell again. He uses his dark arts to use the darkness as crutches and tries to stand up once again. He said to the man, "I don't know you, so I guess I'll introduce myself. The name's Roki." He walks around slowly with his crutches to get used to his movement. "The wolf must have died...oh wait." He hesitates to use his senses so that he can see from afar. "Well there's my leg, but first let's get the lady outta here. Agree?"

Hana glanced between the girl and Kevin, making up her mind very quickly. "Fine, I'll let you help him. But, if you try anything else, there'll be trouble." She didn't like being so defensive and all, but she had no idea who this girl was. All she knew was that she had to protect Kevin at all costs. She let the staff fall to her side, "Please, help him."

"Hana, it's okay. She didn't seem hostile from the start. My instincts are usually correct. Just calm down and let the girl do her work." Kevin then turned to this other girl and said, "Your name...What is it?"

"I may just be able to teach you a two-pronged attack as a reward for doing this. With just about any shifter I can teach them one under the following conditions: They have to tell me their powers and I have to be part of the attack. The other participant is obviously the person with the powers."

"Thank you" Karios said, "I know someone I can call right now." He pulled out his phone from some unknown location. He assumed that it was just were his normal items were kept when he shifted. He felt weak doing it but he knew he couldn't shift out. He had been in his form very long and needed to rest, yes, but telling others was more important. Feeling as if Sally was the one holding him up he clicked the speed dial on his phone.
"Hello?" Said the voice on the other end.
"John its me."
"Kairos? My god I thought something had happened to you. Are you and the young girl ok?"
"No something happened to her but thats not important right now. I had a vision. It was like you thought. People are going to extremes and someone is plotting to destroy the shifters. Just their shifter half though."
"Damn! Are you sure?"
"As I'll ever be. I need you to spread word to other shifters." Kairos took a deep breath, "I know about the pro-shifter group your a part off. Thats why you kept me close by."
"Kairos it was more then that." John said a saddness to his voice, "I couldn't let a child like you get caught up in all this. Looks like that failed."
"But I don't mind. I will help others regardless. And I know others who will support me." He looked at Reina. "Don't worry."
"I will do because your like a son to me. But now isn't the time. When this is over we will talk." Kairos felt a great waze of strength pass through him at those words, "Now go! I'll sort things out my end I have many friends who can get around."
"Thank you." Kairos said his words heavy with thanks. He hung up.

"Lets go then I'll meet you back at your soon Reina." he smiled to her and went to go walk off.

Asmodeus landed within the alcove, allowing his wings to return to his body and recovering some of the energy spent to make them. He looked over the female spirit next to him, studying for a moment. "Now, my dear. I want you to tell me what you were doing with those... helicopters. Then, perhaps, what your plan is for being on this island," he asked, words caressing like velvet. His power of persuasion he applied like a knife, trying to get her answer.

"You see, this island will eventually be under my control. And I have a very specific plan to make this happen, as soon as I find the right spirit..."
