HAL. HAL is the greatest robot ever, although Erasmus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erasmus_(Dune)) comes close.

The Terminators. Specifically, the T-1000.

Whatever model "Cameron" is in the Sarah Connor Chronicles is a pretty damn good one too.

R2-D2 and C3-P0 from Star Wars  They make a great pair and R2 has tons of extra features that make all othe cyborgs bite the dust!! xD In the prequels he showed he could fly and could squirt oil and have a flamethrower too!! :p While 3P0 just kills me with his unique brand of comedy, actually, he and I act alot alike 0.0

Grr. lol

Which one? he has 3 taking SEED Destiny into account if not, then he has 2, there is GAT-X105 Strike Gundam and ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam

My favorite robot has got to be the CABAL Defender from C&C Tiberium Sun: Fire Storm, man, that thing was bigger than a Mammoth Mk.II. I've never been too keen on cyborgs, so I don't really have a favorite.

And if this also included mechs, I would go for a BSW-II Bushwacker, they are the best mechs from Mechwarrior and Battletech in my own opinion.

HAL is an AI, and not a robot or cyborg. But if that counts, I'll go for HAL as well. Otherwise, I'd pick the Daleks (they are cyborgs). They want to exterminate you, and they are ridiculously overpowered.

HAL has control over the whole ship, so he's a robot by definition.

Wouldn't that make anyone who drives a car a cyborg? If so, I nominate Steve McQueen in Bullit.

By some definitions, yes.

But there's little difference between a Robot and an AI driving a body then, isn't there? It's just easier to assume that if the AI can directly control something other then the physical components necessary for it's consciousness then it is a robot.

Robo-ky from Guilty Gear XX.
I would also like to add Metal Gear Ray. I know it is actually a mecha weapon but it still proves an awesome machine altogether by my standards.

Rex is better. Even after Snake blows it up it can still be rebooted, explode through a billion Gekkos, and rip Ray a new one.

But this is mecha, not robots so ehh.

Tarkus (http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/E/elp_tarkus.html) is the best cyborg/robot/freakish semi-mechanical armadillo ever.
