How fast do you type? Wait, what? You don't know? Here's a simple enough test: Time yourself typing "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." twice and divide 840 by your time and you have a decent estimate of your WPM.

I do 93 WPM on a good day. How bout you?

maybe i am just brain dead after 9.5 straight hours of work..but..going by that scenario, where you type said sentence twice, in sequence, timing yourself, and then multiple that time (in seconds) by 4.29...the less time it takes for you to type it, the lower your estimated wpm will be. o.o unless i have misunderstood you.

i did what you said, and it took me 16 seconds the type the full sentence twice over. and then i multiplied the resulting time by 4.29. i got 68.64. but before, it had took me 20 seconds, which got me 85.8 wpm. which doesn't make since. xD


but, with previous tests in mind..i seem to be around...60-65 wpm. i seem to be able to type faster, actuallly, from memory and when i know exactly what i want to say, than that. like around 70 wpm. maybe 75.


oh. btw. about 5 of my laptop's keys are messed up. so take that into account.

I've taken a few typing tests before, and my average always falls somewhere between 80-90 WPM. I'm not sure how accurate that is. I know I'm fairly fast though. Ah with the makeshift test there, I get an 83. I'm about right then.

HELL YES!I that's how I do it.It's much better than the usual format.Two or three is all it needs intead of having your whole palm in your hand.I do about 79-90 words in a minute,but I never type that much.Now if it's a bad day:banghead:

I type from anywhere in between 70 - 90 wpm. It depends, really. For somethings I can type really fast. For other things, it takes me a bit more time.

But generally, I'm a quick typer. =D I had to learn as part of my Business Technology class in HS. I had such a hard time learning at first during sophomore year. I really caught on after almost a year later when I was a Junior. I love typing now. It's so much fun for me. ^___^

I took this test three times, and I believe I averaged myself at about 115-120 wpm. A while ago though, back when I was about 16 and/or 17, I used to be able to max myself out at about 150 wpm. However, that was under a few special circumstances; more specifically, back when I used to involve myself in RP fighting in chats and I had the rare privilege to have an enjoyable 'fight' with someone whom I could go all out against.

...Not that I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been practicing such a thing for a very long time, because your fingers hurt like nothing else after a short while.

I'm a slow typist and always have been. I can get around 45 WPM on a good day and around 35 to 40 WPM normally. Speed-typing just isn't my thing. =\

I used to use that Mavis Beacon program and I always got 44-49 WPM. Then I took a class at my school and I'm still stuck at that range. O_o

Well i am not entirely sure of how fast i truly type since it takes me a while to think about what to write and it looks as if i type less then 40 WPM because that was around the end of 2007 before hitting '08 and eventually i get kinda of more professional into the typing speed so please do not be surprised into the response i had made out, because this repliment is totally honest and full of experience that i had to go through i even beat the highest and fastest type writter from my High School, so now it seems i may be the only one with high quality experience since i had no special training for my doing.

I type between 90 and 100 wpm. I can say that being on chat is what got me to speed up my typing, it can be a mess when you type too slow and it makes it harder to catch up with conversations.

Man, I'm a slow typer.
When I was in first year high school, I type so slow that I almost failed computer class. 15 words per minute, thats soooo slow.

But now after a heck of practice at home and school, I can get 60 WPM.
After all, receiving e-mails one after another would really speed you up. I hope I can improve. I wanna type 100WPM like some of the guys here!

Fairly fast and I never stumble on a word like I used to when it used to take me about 5 minutes to figure out where the "B" key was. I can almost touch-type although I somtimes fail, especially when typing out longer sentences. When I try to exceed my current speed my mind seems to think faster than my fingers and instead of typing the word "advanced" I have written "adavnde".

I'm not sure how fast I type. But in a computer class I had a while back in middle school I beat the typing WPM standard and no longer had to do the typing program. I was the only one in class who could play games while other kids sat there with that dumb program
