Plot:
Long ago, Yoma, shape changing demons, took human form to live in disguise in human towns, feeding on them in secret.

A secret, nameless society has discovered a way of implanting Yoma flesh into humans to create hybrids powerful enough to defeat the Yoma. A hybrid's standard abilities include faster healing, limited shape modification, the ability to detect Yoma and other hybrids, and overall enhanced physical prowess allowing them to wield massive claymores, for which they are named: Claymores. For reasons not divulged, only women are selected to be Claymores. They are often chosen for implantation after being the sole survivors of a family attacked by a Yoma; this ensures their loyalty and willingness to endure the painful hybridization process.

The society sends Claymores to towns that can afford their fees to kill Yoma. The society is often strict and harsh; Claymores who break the rules risk being hunted down by their fellow warriors.

The story of Claymore follows the adventures of the beautiful warrior Claire, who fights demons while struggling to hold on to her own humanity.

Story:10/10
A good story, but can get a bit confusing, since they present the reason of which Clare became a Claymore after a while and unexpected-like. But a good theme, original .

Characters: 10/10
The characters are just amazing. Every single one of them is unique and very well "constructed". The fact that they all have different powers makes them all so different. Even tho they all have blond hair, the grade of it differs and tho they have some same characteristics, they are still so different.

Animation:10/10
Totally a MADHOUSE type of animation. A very specific one. Has nice graphics, effects and the details are pretty good. A lot of action, blood, slaughter.

Sound/music: 9/10
Some soundtracks were kinda cheesy, but the ep and en songs were awesome. As for the sounds themselves, they were good and good quality.

Overwall: 10/10
One of my favorite anime, the only one i finished in 3 days and kept watching so much and kept wanting to watch. Anime shows don't really have that effect upon me so much, rarely find one that does. It really keeps you going.

Story : 10/10
The story is really good. The story is developing into a story that we can never imagine. It's make me impatient to know what will happend next. And the most important is, there's no clise (it's natural, there's nothing looks like a happy drama story.. >,<) Ohohoho~

Characters : 10/10
Even though all the claymore have same eye and hair colour, but we can easily tell them apart because they're all unique.. They have their own characteristic.. So, we sont confused to tell which one is who.

Animation : 10/10
Love it's pict.. XD Every move looks so natural.. I love it..

Sound / Music : 8/10
The dubb voice is not like what I imagine, especially Teresa/s voice. The background song / theme is great, I do like it. It fit the story.. But I don't really like the Op. and the Ed. theme..

Overall : 10/10
It is one of my favorite. The first time I look at these anime, immediately attract to it. Not everyday I found any anime that attract me in the first glance..

Hope its ok to bring back a simple review thread this old.

Time for me to finally put a review in for my favorite series...

There are so many things I'd like to say but most of the specific things I really like about Claymore would be spoilers so I'll just keep it general. I hate spoilers, and wouldnt want to ruin anyone else's experience either.

Story:10/10
I love the story. I know it might not appeal to everyone but I thought it was amazing. It really sucked me in. I feel like I can so relate to Clare and her struggles. I'd almost take a point off for the ending though, but I wont take off a full point. The anime follows the manga exactly right up to near the ending. The manga continues on but at the time they created the anime they must have known it would take too long for the manga to have enough material for a second season, so they ended it with a different ending. It was ok, but does leave a lot of loose ends and leaves you wanting more. The answer to this is to continue on with the manga, and start with book #11 which is where things diverge. Actually I'd say to start at #10 since #11 starts mid-battle, but thats just me. I started over from scratch with the manga, just for a little different verbiage and to have them to collect anyhow.

Characters: 10/10
I love the characters. Many complain they are so similar but that couldn't be further from the truth. At quick glance they look all the same, but even the armor they wear is unique to each and every Claymore upon closer inspection. The minor details there are amazing, I wish they brought that fact to light better. And each character has very specific styles and powers. I really wish they would have went into more character development though. So many come and go so quickly. They could have made the series much longer with more character stories.

Animation:10/10
Awesome animation. Love the graphics and detail. I love how dark and dreary they can make things seem, purposely limiting the color palette and saturation at times. Battle sequences were awesome. Slightly annoyed whith some of the more powerful battle scenes where most swords and strikes move so fast they don't really show up, but I guess that's to be expected in that situation.

Sound/music: 10/10
Yeah there were a few tracks in there that were kind of lame, but there are some really jammin' tunes I dig. I love the opening and ending songs, which are Raison D'Etre by Nightmare, and Danzai no Hana ~Guilty Sky~ by Riyu Kosaka. They are shortened versions though, the full versions are even better. I have the OST cd as well and several tracks are just awesome. I love all of the electric guitar, and most of the orchestral type music (not sure if that's the right term).

Overall: 10/10
My favorite anime so far. Epic adventure. Few anime get me so excited, or so sad that I actually cry (and not just once either). I had to force myself to space it out (watching the episodes I mean) since it deserved to be savored slowly and not just blown through in a weekend. Wish it had more seasons as I do much prefer watching anime, getting to experience the action and sounds and colors, but at least there is manga to continue on with.

Live on Clare! And Good luck.

Story: 9/10 The story in and of itself was great, but it just kinda ended... I feel like it could've kept going on... And this ladies, gentlemen, and those of unspecified gender, is why I would be a horrible editor. The story was good and I enjoyed it. It developed well and had plenty of great battles.
Characters: 10/10 Who didn't like Clare? Who didn't like Raki (although I don't think Todd Haberkorn was the right choice for that voice... but I'll address that later)? There wasn't really a character to hate. They were all developed well, and in the end, came out shining. The characters were amazing.
Animation: 10/10 The distinctive art style is what really made the series worth reading and watching. The animation captures the perfect tone and the battles are all well animated. Bravo.
Audio: 6/10 And here's the lowest score anything here will get. The soundtrack was a bit too generic. The voice acting could've been better. The only voice I had a problem with was Raki's, but I got ocer it. I felt like the voice actors were reading off the script, which is bad. A voice actor needs to be able read like they talk. But the sound effects were pretty good.
Overall: 8.75/10This hit my top five which is kinda hard to get to because it's taken by so many other great animes. It is a must watch that has a shorter length with only 26 episodes, making it easy to watch quickly. It's also a great read.
