anime with musicians

I'm a horrible sucker for any show were one the important character is some sort of musician preferable rock. Really just any anime with a heavy focus on music. Can anyone suggest some more because all I have found so far that was any good was Beck and I guess gravatation was alright to, but I'm not super into the whole gay thing but w/e if it there it there.

Try Aquarian Age. It features a rock band's rise to stardom. Along with some magical elements thrown in.

I tried aquarian age, seemed okay. No one else has any suggestons? I'm not look for heavy focus, I mean just prosecutor gavin in ace apollo was pleaseing.

The anime you're looking for appears to be Macross 7. It features a protagonist that fights aboard a mecha in space wielding a guitar.

I also recommend Kacho Oji. It's about a middle-aged man that used to be a famous rock star who's called into another dimension to fight in space using music.

More recently, Macross Frontier heavily features music, though it isn't rock, since several of the principal protagonists are galaxy-famous singers. It's a pretty good series nontheless so you might want to check it out.
