Wow, this board has been kind of dead while I was gone.

Anyway, after finishing all the Gunslinger Girl image song translations, I found I missed that particular brand of frustration and confusion that only Revo can provide, hence my choice of song. Well, not really, but close enough. At least this one hasn't got any badly-pronounced Italian to figure out.

Schwarzweiß ~

Schwarzweiß ~Kiri no Mukou ni Tsunagaru Sekai~

Schwarzweiß (Black-white) ~A Connected World Beyond the Mist~

hikari ga hoshikute kurayami ni te o nobasu
mezame o matte ita no wa mishiranu sekai

Wanting light, I reached out into the darkness
Waiting to awaken was an unknown world

soshite mune ni yurameku dareka no egao o
daita mama ni samayoinagara mo
susumu otoko wa yukute o saegiru kiri o
nagiharau kizuna omoidasu

And so, embracing someone's smile which flickers in his heart
Even as he wanders, lost
The man who continues onwards remembers the bonds
Which cut through the mist that obscures his path

ieji no yume [1] o egaki sora o koeru monogatari
kuroi NAITO [2]... shiroi BURESU [3]... kare wa utau
muku na tsubomi no ARISU [4] e to...

Painting a dream of the way home, the legend crosses the sky
Black night... white breath... he sings
To the Alice of the pure bud...

koudou shita mono dake ga shinjitsu o tsukamu

Even if you put your feelings into them, words are sometimes powerless
Only those who act can grasp the truth

yagate mune ni kirameku shoujo no ketsui wa
kai o tesaguri kanata e kogidashi
kyozou o utsushi aite o madowasu kiri o
furiharau tsuyosa te ni ireru...

And soon, the girl's decision which shines in her heart
Grasps for the oar and begins to row to a faraway place
Obtaining the strength to shake off
The mist that reflects false images, confusing the beholder...

mayoi no yume [5] o nukeru DOA [6] o sagasu monogatari
kuroi WAAMU [7]... shiroi MISUTO [8]... kanojo wa idomu
mujihi na mori no MARISU [9] e to...

The legend searches for the door out of the dream of confusion
Black worm... white mist... she issues a challenge
To the malice of the merciless forest...

deai no kazu dake... tsunagaru SUTOORI [10]
GASUTO [11] ni notte... ATORIE [12] ni todoku darou
deaeru yo itsuka... aa... hitori ja nai kara...
konnan na michi demo... kyou ga saite demo... warau nara kitto...

The story which has as many meetings as connections
Will surely reach the atelier, riding a gust of wind
We will meet someday... ah... because you're not alone
Even if the path is hard... even if today is bad... if you smile, surely...

yagate mune ni hatameku karera [13] no negai wa
tsubasa o hirogete sekai o meguri [14]
chirabaru kibou o atsume subete o hedateru kiri o
fukiharau hikari tokihanatsu...

And soon, their wishes which flutter in their hearts
Will spread their wings and fly around the world
Gathering up the scattered homes, they will release the light
Which blows away the mist that isolates everything...

byakuya no yume [15] no you na towa [16] o tsumugu monogatari
kuroi EJJI [17]... shiroi ASSHU [18]... boku [19] wa kaeru
kimi [20] no hitomi no IRISU [21] e to...

Like the dream of a white night, the legend spins eternity
Black sword... white ash... Destiny is returning
To the irises of your eyes...

Only one I think may be wrong is 18, I had a listen to the song and it doesn't sound like kotoba. Perhaps could be ぼく (http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?codepoint=535c)

Ah, I think you're right. Thanks!

I gave a link so you wouldn't confuse with 僕. I'm not sure it works though, it's an archaic word, but has a similar meaning to 運命. I'd probably follow the kanji in the translation anyway.

Oh! I didn't even notice that. I'm such an idiot. Sorry, and thanks again!

Wow, this board has been kind of dead while I was gone.
Well, no use reminiscing about the good old days, is it not?

I'm seriously considering buying the best album by Shimotsuki Haruka to obtain my fix until the next SH release. Speaking of which, I have a poster of Revo tucked away in my desk <3. It came with my copy of the Roman CD by Sound Horizon, although all things considered it might not be a good idea to actually have it on my wall.

>虚像を映し相手を惑わす霧を
>振り払う強さ手に入れる......
>Obtaining the strength
>To shake off the mist that reflects false images, confusing her (opponents/partners/companions?)...
You're confused here because you're thinking of 相手 from the singer's view. In fact, what's occuring here is a personification of the 霧 (mist), so 相手 is the mist's "opponent", or in this case "the beholder".

-> "Obtaining the strength / To shake off the mist that reflects false images, confusing the beholder"

>迷いの幻夢(ゆめ)を抜ける扉(ドア)を探す物語
>Leaving the dream of confusion, the legend searches for the door
I believe you cut the line at the wrong place.
Your interpretation seems to be 「迷いの幻夢(ゆめ)を抜ける / 扉(ドア)を探す物語」, when it should be 「迷いの幻夢(ゆめ)を抜ける扉(ドア) / を探す物語」.

->"The story to search for the door that leaves the dream of confusion".

>出会いの数だけ...繫がる冒険譚...
>The story which only connects the number of meetings
This usage of 「~だけ」 does not mean "only" in this case, but means of equal measure or worth (from goo dictionary; 百円だけキャンディーを買う = "buy a hundred yen('s) worth of candies").

-> "A story with (only) as many connections as there are meetings".
