So, I'm back for another round of sig making! C&C is always welcome.

I like the second version better for some reason, and I need to work on text. :/

New test I did based on a tutorial I saw. I like the way it came out.

03-18-2008, 10:48 PM

this one attracted me to no end. the sunset looking background and silhouette looks awesome! tho, i didnt like the color for "Play" much =/ hmmm... orange? (maybe not)

Very nice outcome. =D

03-19-2008, 12:46 AM
I like your "Play" sig a lot Mira. The sillhouette looks good and the background is wicked. Hope to see some more soon :)

03-19-2008, 08:39 AM

About time I returned the favour and commented here I think ^^
The three shown are my favourites. The Sig you did for "Red" was amazing, the colours fit everything really well and the character suits the background.
The darker version of the Ichigo set looks better, but that may just be my opinion as maybe the other was a little too bright and a little faded out maybe.
The text looks pretty good though on the second version actually, although perhaps a little harder to read but still, awesome job on this one ^^

As for the last one, the "Play" Sig is simply stunning, the silhouette against the sunset kind of feeling background fits so well and the text is seriously awesome, so true also XD Seriously though, it's just perfect so well done and keep up the amazing work, hope to see more.

Thanks for the comments everyone. ^.^ I will look into changing the color of the text Unli - I think it would look good in orange. ^^

I've been getting a lot of awesome gifts from people lately, so I've got some on the way. Here's the first of them for Megami! I hope you like, and just let me know if you would like any changes. ^^ More on the way!

03-20-2008, 12:53 AM
Ooh... Very nice. I like the electric feel coming out from the mike it gives a nice unifying theme to the sig. You could erase some of the c4d on her face to accentuate the way the face is sorrounded/enclosed by the effects though.^^

03-20-2008, 05:08 AM
I disagree with KuroTan. It's perfect. Don't touch it. Don't you dare touch it! D: ! I love it, gosh even I think that it fits me :x
The effects all around her has such a nice flow and I love how you placed the text! <3

03-20-2008, 06:04 AM
I love the girl with the mike. The colors are awesome!

Mira Kaiba
03-29-2008, 03:17 AM
Yay, update finally! First, a gift for Phoenixchan. If there are any changes, just let me know. ^^

Now a request for Red. I tried some new blending stuff with C4Ds and some pen tool lines from Serated's tut. ^^
It may need some more effects though.

03-29-2008, 03:34 AM

is gifts a part of the society now? xDD

love the first one! tho, try changing a bit of the red and yellow there, its sticks out a bit too much >.>;; the red may be a good lighting source. the long streak of c4d effects near the left is a bit off-flow. try uh... rotating it and making it point at the focus. Love the colors to the death tho. Nice font choice :3

overall, impressive work! x3

04-01-2008, 12:31 AM
Yay, thanks for the comment Unli. I will change the flow of the C4D - I see that now. I'll alter the colors a bit as well.

Here's a new one - result of some new techniques I was trying out. It's a little full, but I kind of like the effect. ^^

04-01-2008, 12:49 AM
Ooh... Is that from the pianist? I like it. The effects you use give it that sorta old nostalgia feeling, like when you look at those brown photographs from way back.^^ Nicely done.

04-01-2008, 12:54 AM

With this, I am left utterly speechless.

The border is quite interesting, not your common full border, and not only that, two different colored and size borders.
I think they are interesting. Not as fulfilling and eye satisfying as your other signatures, however it does have one thing that the others didn't have.
I stare at it with a kind of interest that you normally don't see anywhere else.
This signature was quite intriguing, so I personally like it.
Although the 'm' on Dream is kind of hard to read. Although I don't know where else you would be able to put it.
Text can be evil sometimes...

Yay, I finally sort of got my Photoshop back! My old version died, so now I have CS2 again. Here's a sig I just finished, and I like the background. ^^ C&C!
Thanks to Unli for the awesome extract!

-stares- That is...CUTE. <3

The mira in the corner is a tad small, and I think it's missing a border...?

But the blending is amazing as always, Mira. Lighting is perfect, text fits well. I just love it! So cuuuute :3

The Bg is nice [is that a tree?] and I love her eyes +_+

Another 5 star thread ^^

04-13-2008, 07:20 PM
Beautiful Work Mira. I really love your sigs. I love the color and the way they have such a colorful, almost surreal tone to them. Keep on with your work. They are great!

Anyways, I love it.

Agg - I'm finally back from school - it's out for the summer, and so I finally had time to do a bit of sig work! Here's a request I did for Dream Magician. ^^

05-29-2008, 04:04 AM
I love DreamMagician's siggy Mira!!

The picture, text and background match up nicely. Hope you'll be making an avvy to top it all off.

Hope to see some more awesome work soon!!

05-29-2008, 01:19 PM

This one has to be really pretty.
I love the colours [ thats what I always like x) ]
And those colours remind me of lavender
The quote is very inspiring and the character
suits well for the whole theme ^.^

For this one I love the whole idea of the feilds while
playing it's instrument aswell with the whole outbursts(?)
of the music notes.
And this one is quite simple thats why I like it.

Overall your siggies Mira
are pretty awesome I'd love to see more!!

05-30-2008, 08:11 PM
hehe Vey talented ^^

If I may be so bold as to request one, could you possibly make one with Yuuki from Vampire Knight? with my username? I'm not picky ^_^

Mira Kaiba
06-08-2008, 08:42 PM
Thanks a bunch for the comments everyone. Here's one I did for SOTW with the music theme. It's modeled after the sunset one I did. I think that one is better though. C&C! ^^

And another set for Dream Magician - I worked a lot on color and some on lighting for this one.

06-08-2008, 08:51 PM
I think I like the Play sig better then the Rock on sig. Iunno, it may just be because the Play sig is a bit brighter.

I also agree with Balance, the Dream of Mind sig has a very interesting border. I like it a lot.

Though I must say, sing has to be my favorite. Its a nice use of C4Ds, well balanced, bright, and has a nice focus.

Awesome stuff Mira!

Mira Kaiba
06-09-2008, 05:28 PM
Thanks so much for the comment Maru. ^^

Here's a new sig. I think it came out okay. I have a purple/orange gradiant map version and dark blue/teal version. I like the blue version better, I think - the light looks better on it. C&C! ^^

06-09-2008, 05:45 PM

Mira-san lovn the new siggy!
Erm can you just show me when the brown chara in the blue bg?
Just a thought...
Anyway the b/g is great it suits the chara. well ^^
Well done and congratz on your SOTW music siggy!

06-10-2008, 06:23 AM
I like the one you did for Dream Magician. And the play one, and the musical ichigo one, and the *rambles on and on*
Any way, your stuff is practically FLAWLESS! How do you do it??
ALl that blending is just so good ^^ *sighs*

Mira Kaiba
06-18-2008, 06:02 PM
Lol, thanks everyone for the C&C. I will try placing the copper tone image into the blue sig - that might look pretty good, thanks!

@Karuto - I just practice a lot with blending and look a lot at other people's work, like Unleh, Serated, and all of the super awesome people here. ^^

Here's the sig I did for the week 6 sig contest of the week, and I can't believe I actually won! Anyway, here it is, C&C as always - I always want to be better!

06-18-2008, 08:27 PM
That signature was definitely an awesome signature and I'm glad it won.

The lines on the right side of the subject was a really interesting touch to the signature and that's one of the few reasons why I had voted for it.

Again, great job Mira, and I can't wait to see more of your signatures. =D

Mira Kaiba
06-26-2008, 05:48 PM
Thanks a bunch Balance. ^^ I thought the lines were a nice touch - thanks to Serated for the tut on those.

Here's the sig I did for STOW 7 - Final Fantasy. I like the way it came out. I was experimenting with depth and backround blurring.

06-26-2008, 05:55 PM
I love the Final Fantasy sig Mira!! ^^

The blurred background is awesome and so is the picture.

06-27-2008, 06:09 AM
Okies, love the sig <3 =]

Just the blurring on the left of the sig is too noticeable o.o if that makes sense, id suggest putting a C4D or something else in that area to make it more interesting? and maybe the text is a lil small but thats my opinion --- apart from that it's perfect. Good work.

Mira Kaiba
07-10-2008, 09:44 PM
Thanks for the C&C everyone. Yeah, the text was pretty small in the last one - I might just take it out alltogether and add some more effects on that side.

Here's a new sig - thanks for the tut Dot - it was really helpful for C4D placement - I have trouble with that.

07-11-2008, 09:06 PM
No worries Mira, glad it helped :3

It looks good, it's just your C4D is a bit smaller than what i used, so your background looks, in my opinion, a bit too plain. Try using some scanlines, or a pattern; try using some clipping masks for the background, or smudging. A few ideas for you. xD

Well done on the text though, it looks great. It does look a lil over sharpened, which is probably my fault because of the tut haha. But its not that bad. Anyways, I love your outcome. <3

Jagan Eye
07-14-2008, 03:07 PM

Wooot! You did one using Dot's tut as well! The results are fantastic. I can even see the Mira-isms in it. The c4D goes well and you choose a very nice background. I sorta feel like the character is a bit oversharpened though. The text suits the sig well though, and works really well with the signature. I really like this sig, its very fun. <3

07-14-2008, 03:25 PM
Goddamn, that looks so adorable! I gotta say I like those vectors at the right! :3 And the background really fits well with Flonne (<3)

The only thing that kinda disturbs me is that bit of hair right below the C4D. The text work looks good, although, I think re-arranging could prove useful ;D (say, MIRA above the Kaiba?)

Mira Kaiba
07-14-2008, 03:26 PM
Thanks so much for the comments everyone.
@Dot - I think I'll try some clipping circles on it.
@Jaggy - Thanks for the sharpness tip - I fixed it on the character and the text as well.

Edit: Here is the new edited version - I changed the text *thanks Unleh ^^* and got rid of the hair on the left, and added some mask circles. Thanks for all the comments!

07-15-2008, 02:41 AM
Ouh is fantastical *reprep* :3 Looks much better, your a great sig maker <3 - Can't wait to see your next signatures. ^^

07-15-2008, 06:30 AM
The last sig is purely AWESOME!! Everything fits in so well. I can't find anything to comment on. Great C4D placement too. Dot's tutorial has helped so many people, she should probably make more ^^

Jagan Eye
07-15-2008, 11:30 AM
Wow, it looks a lot smoother and I also like the text arrangement. Pretty<3

Mira Kaiba
07-16-2008, 02:54 PM
Thanks Karuto - she should make more tuts - this last one was great.

Here's my entry for SOTW 10. I wasn't sure about the yellow and pink dots - I tried clipping, but it didn't work with Ichigo. I think I just have to look around for something to use as a clipping mask that would blend with the sig. Background was good smudging practice though. ^^

Jagan Eye
07-16-2008, 03:12 PM
This sig was one of my favorites. I love the colors you used and the background is really neat. I like the smudging techniques you used. I also like how you did the text. Matches the sig well and the border is really pretty. Overall, wonderful.

07-17-2008, 12:11 AM

Awesome job on this one. It's so... pop outy. =D And thanks for your SOTW entry. I adored it.^-^

Mira Kaiba
07-17-2008, 03:34 PM
Thanks everyone. Here's a result of Serated's tut. I liked the fact that he used the five varied colors to create depth. C&C!
Thanks a bunch to Unleh for the awesome extract. ^^

07-17-2008, 04:31 PM
Damn, wish i could do his Tutorial. Its perfect, i love everything about it.

:3 Its smooth and it just flows very well.

07-17-2008, 05:03 PM
Great, now in a few months or so I wont be the best signature maker here anymore.

07-17-2008, 07:59 PM
Great, now in a few months or so I wont be the best signature maker here anymore.
Who said you were the best? =3

Anyhow, you are making some beautiful signatures Mira.
About your latest signature though...
I don't know, I feel that there's just ONE THING MISSING.
Lighting. Apply the entire image and try messing with the lighting (lighting effects on the render filters)

Other than that, it looks pretty damn nice.
Keep it up. =D

Mira Kaiba
07-18-2008, 12:41 AM
Great, now in a few months or so I wont be the best signature maker here anymore.

Heh, you're the one who made the awesome tut. I just followed it. All that proves is that you're fantastic at making easy to follow tuts. ^.^

@Balance: You're completely right, I did forget lighting. *blush* I'll add some and work on the blending. Thanks. ^^

@dotmyztick: Thanks, it is a great tut. ^_^

Jagan Eye
07-20-2008, 11:32 AM

Its beautiful Mira, I love the colors, the extract is amazing and the overall effect is lovely. I like the textures in the background and the vectory feel is really nice. The colors are really appealing as well, so amazing job.

Mira Kaiba
07-22-2008, 09:52 PM
Thanks Jagan. ^^
Here's a new sig - I was going to enter it for SOTW 9, but I got really busy and never finished it, so I though I might as well do it now. It's a much more simple sig, but I kind of like how it came out. I'll probably do a tut on this one if people like the outcome, though it's more of a beginner tut sig. C&C!

Edit: A tutorial for this sig is up in the Editing Tips and Tutorials section. ^^

Jagan Eye
07-22-2008, 09:54 PM
Ahw, this sig is adorable. I love the simplicity of it, makes it feel happy. I really like the background and how its very strong but light at the same time and the text goes with the signature extremely well. Overall, its amazing. Love it.

07-22-2008, 10:46 PM
Your latest is such a cutie! Hooray for CCS ♥
I really enjoy the shades of yellow. It makes it feel happy, just as Jagan Eye said.
I completely and utterly adore it!

07-23-2008, 02:37 AM
OMG wonderful texture used in this signature. & i love the way you have done your text and the colours! Oh :3

Mira Kaiba
07-28-2008, 03:46 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone. I was pretty happy with the tutorial that came out of the sig. Here's a new sig for Angelic Assassin for the wonderful SOTW siggy - I adored it! ^^

There are two versions - one with minor adjustment color, and one with a purple/orange gradient map on full.

Beautiful extraction by the wonderful Serated! ^^

Jagan Eye
07-28-2008, 04:21 PM
Ah, this sig makes me wanna stare at it all day long. The colors are tremendosly powerful, making the sig feel very strong and I really love the extract you used. Completely amazing.

Mira Kaiba
08-01-2008, 03:11 PM
^^ Thanks Jagan.
Heh, so I have decided that Unleh does not have enough gifted sigs, and plus I owe him one for the awesome Ichigo sig! ^.^
So here ya go - hope you like it! *I likeh the blue one*

08-01-2008, 06:33 PM
It's beautiful, I like the first version, the colors look well put together. I think the text is almost in the right place, but it's pretty close.

08-01-2008, 06:43 PM
OoOh~ lovelyness in both of them
Although I much preffer the blue one
It has some sort of wisp kinda flow in the tag ^3^
I love it!

08-01-2008, 10:11 PM
Alright, I have scanned over all your stuff, and my judgment tells me that the Saber and Noumi one are the two that just make perfect representations of the majority of your work. These two are not bad, but the two aspects that need improving on both are the Blending and the Color. The blending is present, but not enough, and a C4D usually cannot blend the way that is necessary. I really advise using some brushing over a C4D. Now the color, its just mismatched. Mostly one the Noumi one because the Extracted it, and the prime color was blue, and you have warmed it up way too much. You really should follow the colors of the stock to make it blend more overall. So instead, a blue tone would have worked far better.

To improve color, mix it up with Cooling and Warming Filters. Avoid the Color Balance and Hue and Saturation, as they may make the signature monotone against your will.

Mira Kaiba
08-10-2008, 07:27 PM
Thanks for the help Serated. I went back and looked, and you're completely right about the blue filter over the warming filter.

I've been working on blending a bit, and here is a new sig that is hopefully better in that sense. However, I would like some C&C on the color - I'm not crazy about it. o_O

08-11-2008, 08:18 AM
Omg, I love your latest sig.
The dot effect by the text is cute.
I think you could apply that red effect somehow in the border though.
Great work! ^_^

08-11-2008, 09:13 AM

I know,I can see that CS3 pen tool ^^, I myself like the color on this set, o.O but maybe add a little something, maybe some blend of red or something. While I do like the overall color, it seem a little, you know "flat" if that makes any sense =/

Mira Kaiba
08-11-2008, 06:44 PM
Thanks for the C&C.
I understand completely about the flatness - that's exactly what I'm feeling about it, but I'm not completely sure how to fix it. I tried adding back some more color to add some depth, but I'm nto sure how it worked out. I also tried a different colored border. Some more C&C please!

08-12-2008, 11:36 AM
Ah, happy belated birthday ;___; I just noticed your age is 20 xDD

Anyway, I love the gift you made me there =b and yes, the blue is definitely better *wears triumphantly* Lovely-lovey xD

And this one, which is in the quote box.
R A W R S E X Y !
That lip color is simply stunning XDD, definitely good for a sub-focus
I like how you used liquify in the background there, really fitting for the theme. Anyway, I do think the area below the text is quite empty, imo.

Awesome job nonetheless

08-12-2008, 07:48 PM

This is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, tag I have seen from you. It could use more color, but I still like it regardless of.

08-13-2008, 08:37 PM
This is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, tag I have seen from you. It could use more color, but I still like it regardless of.

I do agree with Unli about the negative space, however we are all not talented enough to pinpoint what you can do about it but oh well.

08-14-2008, 04:44 AM
I like it just the way it is.....sumtimes simplicity if the way to go....i dont think its that minimalistic but it's fine the way it is! love it

Mira Kaiba
08-15-2008, 06:47 PM
Thanks for all the C&C everyone. I think I finally got more color in it so it looks somewhat better.

Here's my sig for SOTW 14. I thought that the extract was so cute, I had to use it. ^.^

And a quick avvy to go with my sig, though I may redo it a little differently.

08-15-2008, 07:50 PM
Its really empty, no blending really, the colors are nice. I like your current one over that one.

Mira Kaiba
08-15-2008, 10:52 PM
@surion: I didn't think it was too too empty, but I did go for simple this time around. I should have added more blending, but decided against it to get a little of a more vectory feel. Yeah, I liked the colors too. ^^

New sig -working on some pen tool/lighting on effects stuff. Please C&C!

Mira Kaiba
09-02-2008, 11:36 PM
Okay, so as a present to myself for making it through my first week back at classes :/ I made a sig.

I started out using Balance's awesome tut, which took me pretty far, and toward the end, I added some of my own stuff. Anyway, here it is (because I have so many other things I could be doing...) ^^

Extract credit to the one and only Unleh (I love this extract!)

09-03-2008, 10:05 AM
The byakuya one is good, but it's not crisp. How come?

Your latest is just stunning!! I like the flowy bit. Just moves me along ^o^ The border's awesome too. Everything is just flawless in it.
How did you do that border?

Knuffle Bunny
09-03-2008, 09:16 PM

I think the dotted border is unique, but doesn't fit the sig well. Kinda looks like the sig is pasted onto dotted paper. I think making the dots larger so it looks like they have color might be a solution. Because right now they look black/dark brown.

The sig is adorable, but I can't help but feel the left side of the yellow circle is missing something. The bue in the background gives it a very calm feeling, which I like-very much.

Are you going through a pink phase, or something? All of your sigs have pink/blue in them. Even the kuchiki one!! xD

As for your current set, it's the best sig i've seen in quit a while. I saw it for the first time WOAH. It's very, very well done. ='3

09-04-2008, 01:25 AM
reality I like your work.. it`s rapturous

especially this

so nice .. good luck

Mira Kaiba
09-14-2008, 04:46 AM
Thanks for the comments everyone. ^^
@Karuto: To make the border, I just made a normal border using lines, and then filled it with a dotted pattern that I made. It's pretty simple, and I think it looks really nice in a lot of situations.

@Knuffle: Interesting idea - I'll try making larger circles with color. I also thought that the left was missing something - I was thinking about adding another blueish object on the left.

Here's a new sig I made. I think it came out rather well, though the extract was sort of poor-quality.. C&C please!

greyscale version

09-14-2008, 04:55 AM
Yes, I have that very same extraction somewhere. I've tired to make something out of it about 3 times, every single time, it just became an epic failure. You however found a way to make it work, I'm so happy for you. I like the greyscale version much better, the colors are pretty amazing, but the gray looks much better with the extraction. The colored one kind steals focus from the extraction IMO. The only awkward thing about greyscale version is the pretty rectangle behind the text should be removed because it causes an awkward lighter tone again this is only my opinion.

09-14-2008, 08:08 AM

I simply adore this one,it has a very good use of colors
The dotted border is pretty unique and stands out good ^^
On your new sig I much preffer the grayscale version
and maybe change the color of the border on the colored one.

09-14-2008, 08:42 AM

Nice abstract =DD I love the flow of the pen here
The left side is awesome btw, especially the red shape there.

Very creative at the Dotted borders there, I have never seen anyone do that yet xD

09-14-2008, 09:44 AM
I like it, the effects really match, very cute :3

09-14-2008, 02:29 PM
I love the color version of the future faith sig. The effect you applied on the image was a great idea, and the font for the text was perfect. The box around the text goes with the border too. I really can't find any complaints. I just looks alil sharp in some areas, but I think that's part of the design. XD

Mira Kaiba
09-17-2008, 07:11 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone. Here's my result from .Lovebeat's tut. I love the outcome - it's very different with the cross of smudging and vector. Great tut - everyone should try it! ^^

09-19-2008, 11:01 AM
I love it. The flow is wonderful and the colors are masterfully done. The text is very well placed though I can't read the first line of the small text. Perhaps a small 1pixel border, though it looks perfectly fine to me already :)

09-19-2008, 11:10 AM
Definitely good =D
The lighting at the top really made the shapes look like gradients :3

Love the effect, textwork and flow. But I do think the bottom left side looks empty, even with the shapes. Maybe a clip mask there, or something.
Nonetheless, Awesome work =DD

09-20-2008, 05:51 AM
No, it doesn't look empty. It's better to leave it that way. Or it's going to look very crowded.

I reallly love all that pentooling. Wish I could do that right now.

Too bad I can't work GIMP properly :\

09-27-2008, 10:01 AM
Ah...yet another set maker that I've been missing ^^
How about a warm welcome to your thread Mira xD
Lol,joking ofcourse...
Since I've missed many, like in other people threads,I'm gonna start with your latest post, and follow up with your updates...

Let's see...
Mhm,this is very beautiful indeed...
The complete look of it is amazing, and is enough to caught my attention...
I love the look of it,character placement is great...
Complete flow of the sig is astonishing..
Background effects are amazing,as always, especially the coloring of it,and sig itself is good balanced, without much effects...
Very nice..
Only thing I mind is txt below the Hybrid Power, perhaps it is too small...?
Dunno,it's only how I see it...

Anyhow, overall good job Mira...Keep 'em comming,I'll be waiting to see more <3

@Kersheys and Hama - yeah, the text is small. I was thinking about making it small enough so it could not be read at all, but at the last minute I changed it and it ended up in between. I should go back and make it a little larger. ^^

In the meantime, here are two gift sigs I made in my spare time. Enjoy! ^^

10-06-2008, 12:56 PM
Boy, do you have some lovely works on display!

The lighting on the sig you made for balance is just... wow. I also like the way you've only done a border at the top and bottom, it gives it a real linear feel which matched the flow VERY nicely :3

An all-round well done ^^ and, of course, welcome to IGFX :]]

10-06-2008, 01:08 PM
Aww thanks for the gift Mira! <33
Both of them are looking fantastic! I'm loving the effects and colours in Balance's sig.

The one for me is really nice too :3 The effects look nice, the dots gives a feeling of "winter". It's a little bit weird that the tag "starts over" to the left, I'd think it would look better with a border in between or so. The box behind the text looks a bit odd and sudden o.o but I think the rest is so pretty. <33 Thank you!

10-08-2008, 07:29 AM
Wow,amazing works you have there...
Both are outstanding...

Balance sig:
Great, just great...I love the complete look of it...
Character focus remained completely...Bg image is beautiful, with small amount of effects which is good..
Lighting you've done is pretty amazing, and it's clearly seen where the light comes from,by the darker part of the sig behind the character...
Sig is well balanced, and has a pretty nice, yet destructive feeling to it,you have managed to emerge character and bg effecting, like, sooo well...
I has good flow, and the text is pretty amazing, nicely colored and placement is good too...
Overall amazing <3

The Lovebeat's one is magnificent as well ^^
Mono coloring is always awesome, and I love the outcome of it too...
Character focus is untouched, and bg image rocks...I really love it..
Winter effect is only adding to the complete beauty of it..
Balance is great, and it has a nice feeling to it...
Complete flow of the sig is outstanding, and font coloring and fancyness goes well with the mood of the sig...

Overall,your work is great,as always ^^
Keep up...

Thanks for the comments everyone!
@.Lovebeat - I know - I felt the same way about the text. I tried a bunch of different things to make it look better, but this was the best I could come up with. I should revisit and replace it, and add a border on the left while I'm at it. ^.^

SOTW 22 entry. I had so much fun with this one! It felt kind of empty on the left, but I didn't want to kill it, so I left it alone. :3

10-08-2008, 01:15 PM

I can't believe I didn't see this earlier!
Thank you very much, Mira Kaiba.

Meh - I WILL keep this alive despite school's best efforts to stop me! ^^

Old request from PacMan, and credit where credit is due - one of the background images courtesy of Catastrophe. ^^ Yeah, left side = grainy :/

Second, new siggy, which I am loving! Only thing is that the colors don't show well when I upload to internet! o_O don't know why - maybe because of the high saturation I'm using. Anyway, there is more orange, promise!

10-22-2008, 02:37 PM
Ah, I also finished Pacmanx's request. It's interesting to see what other people makes with the same stock/extraction.

Yours is looking really good though, but I myself prefer stronger colours for the image used. The effects are nice and your text placement looks good. :3 (lol I placed mine there too XDD) I don't mind the grainy-ness at all, just that the left side looks a little bit empty compared to the right side.

I love love love the other squiggly sig you've made, and even though I might see the colours all wrong I think the colours are really niiiice~ I love the squares, the lines... everything! ♥

Mira Kaiba
10-22-2008, 06:13 PM
^^ Thanks for the comment - yeah, I really the darker colors you used for PacMan - I wanted to do something a little lighter.

And an edit: the abstract sig slightly adjusted for the color issue, though not completely fixed.

EDIT: And here is the really, really simple sig that inspired the above sig and my STOW 22 sig. Also corrected for color (I think it's because I originally saved these two in .Tiff format. :/)

10-26-2008, 08:04 PM
Haven't been in here for a while. Your sigs are still awesome. The two abstract sigs are great and not sure which one i like the most. I would say the second cause the darkness in it brings out all the lighter effects better. Text is good as always. Nice work.

Thanks, Mystik. ^^

New sets, one a request, and the second is a gift for Jaggy! I hope you like it. ^^
Credits to the one and only Serated for the extracts!

2 ways for you. ^.^

10-27-2008, 04:10 PM
I really adore Jagan's one!The first one is better imo..
Colors are excellent and vibrant, some good flow there also.
The texwork is good, the little boxes are great with it :]
Keep it up Mira awesome job!

New siggy set for ~Miss Independent. I know, lots of white space, but I wanted a cleaner more focused look for this one. I really liked the result on this one. ^^

New siggy set for ~Miss Independent. I know, lots of white space, but I wanted a cleaner more focused look for this one. I really liked the result on this one. ^^

~...and I really LOVE the result! *____* you did an awsome work!!! =3 I am really sow much glad that I have you *tears of joy*

11-04-2008, 10:32 AM
More focused look for miss-a's sig was a good choice. Also that first abstract sig is really cool ^^

And I remember commenting on the set you made for Jaggy long ago. I wonder what happened to it...

11-04-2008, 07:37 PM

I really like this one. It's so eyecatching. Simple, but pretty. :)

Miss A's is really nice too.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I was kind of proud of the sotw beloved sig. ^.^
New sig, it turned out okay. I had to scrap it halfway through and start over - I put too many effects on it, though I think it still has a little too much bright color. C&C! ^^

11-14-2008, 07:51 PM
lol, I love your new sig! The text made me giggle, and the stock is really nice. I also enjoy how the bg is blurred a bit, it helps with the perspective. Lovely work, as always <3

11-18-2008, 08:07 PM
Lol, I'm glad you like it - yeah the text is cool, dunno, just came right to mind when I started thinking about what to put. ^^

SOTW 28 entry for Maru - I thought she would like the high fashion feel. Plus a new learning technique for me - more vectory and pen-tooling than normal. ^.^

11-18-2008, 08:10 PM
Ah I knew it XD
Very nice siggy Mira.
Nice effects down by her feet.
Nice text.

11-24-2008, 08:34 AM
I knew it was your entry. I don't get why I didn't vote for it though. I always have this thing for Kuro's entries. There's something so catchy about them I just end up voting for them instead.

Loving the colors and flow from the shoes. What a great idea the shoes were ^^

11-27-2008, 01:57 AM
I really like your time signature! I have to agree with all of Maru's comments on it. As for your sotw entry, loves it. It's very balanced and has a unified theme, which I like. I like how you mirrored it on the bottom as well, that's a nice touch. Really nice work, as usual =D

Mira Kaiba
12-05-2008, 08:07 PM
Okay, SOTW 30 entry. I had a lot of fun making this one. It needed a lot more though (effect-wise). Plus it was a little too glowy on the right I think. But it was fun playing with sparkles!! ;p
Lolz, and yes, the trackball is a little earth. ^.^

12-05-2008, 08:16 PM
Nice sig Mira.
Sparkles, hmm need to learn how to make that like that.
Cool effect with little earth =D
The reason why I didn`t vote for it was becaus I didn`t like how the ehm celphone(?) went over the border like that.

12-05-2008, 08:35 PM
haha, I voted for that one =D

Wow, had no idea it was yours though! I liked it anyhow.

Heh - thanks everyone. Winter break for sigs is somewhat over, and here are two more. One was SOTW which was a phail, though I somewhat liked the contrast, though it was a bit too much, and the second one is of Simon Baker. It's okay - not completely the result I was going for, but I like the colors. ^^

Lolz, the time sig is still my fave!!

01-02-2009, 09:41 PM
Hmm very nice sigs Mira. I love your choice of colours. You are also one of the few who does a fairly good job with the typography. ^^

So, I'm back for another round of sig making! C&C is always welcome.

Recent Favorites

The very first one named "Red" and the second Ichigo one are my favorites. Well done.

01-03-2009, 08:48 AM
Regarding the Imminent Death sig, lots of negative space, don't you think? The right side especially. It's very empty.
And the Simon Baker one is SO you! You use that red-blue-yellow gradient map a lot, don't you?? I adore that style of yours ^^

Mira Kaiba
01-04-2009, 09:14 PM
Heh, thanks everyone. ^^
@Karuto: Yeah, that gradiant looks really nice most of the time. Thanks! Hmm, as for the Imminent Death sig, I thought the left side had more negative space than the right for some reason...maybe I need more on both sides...

New work in progress - I don't really care for the angle of the balloon and some of lighting coming from some of the sides...ideas welcome!

01-04-2009, 09:22 PM
Very interesting piece right there.
I really don't know what to really suggest except these two things.
Try clipping masks, fun way to create a "vector" styled finish.
Also, your normal coloration of those kind of signatures (purple to violet) is somewhat overused.
Mess around with the colors and see what you get.
It would be interesting to see what you can make out of that.

I love it. Thank you so much, Mira. Its so bright and the colors look so happy and awesome. The siggy flows really nicely and the awesome effects really compliment the girl. The text is so very cute as well. So awesome, Mira.

(I'll be wearing it soon, hehe)

Thanks -- major brain freeze on the balloon sig, so here's another sig in the meantime. Two versions - one more vertical sig-type, and the other the fuller version with an odder size. I like how the colors turned out, though I was hoping for more detail in the background. I also gotta work on the text visibility... :/

Thanks to Maru for the extract! ^.^

Ohh wwoww!
I love all your sigs. O.O
Amazing. <3 >.<

I LOVE the balloon one! : D
It's so different. : )

Only thing I can think of, is that a lot of your sigs have some empty space.
But that is all~.

01-15-2009, 03:24 AM
Vertical ones are absolutely dazzling @[email protected]

I love those warm colors in them. Both versions are just awesome. All abstract and flowy ^^
I'm totally in love with them <333

01-15-2009, 07:33 AM
mmmm nice colors.
The text:
On the smaller one, what if you moved the text over to the right side of her skirt/dress?
And on the odder one you could move the text a little more down.
So that the text in both does`t go over a that bright white dot you have behind there now.
What if you just move the text in the smaller one a little bit more down? Then the white dot will be just above the M

Oh and, very nice overall :3

Thanks for the comments everyone!
@Yuuki - yes, my sigs can be a bit empty - something I need to continue to work on.

Here's a new one - working with some new style types and such. I think I may need more contrast - it may be too light, but I love the colors! Anyways, C&C!
Credits to the wonderful Serated for the fabulous extract. ^.^

After looking at the sig more closely, I changed the border color to a darker blue/purple to make it stand out more. Text needs more work. :/

Humm, so yeah, bumping my own thread - only because I'm excited to show my new sig!! ^.^

First here's my SOTW - just goes to show how much I know about Japanese vs. Chinese dress...(nothing o.o) but anyways, the text was interesting on this one I thought..., even though I shouldn't have won... o.o

And here's a new sig - 3 of the same type with different styles on the left to deal with my negative space problem. C&C!

Your new sig is SO hot. Its an incredibly creative idea and I love how you did it. My favorite of the 3 is the first version and I think the clipping mask looks really cool coming off of the buildings. The ziggy pentool + the C4D add a really nice effect to the whole signature. I'm completely wow-ed by it. Really good job, Mira.

My my , i am speechless , i seriously dont have any words to say how pretty and amazing your signatures are.
Your silent hill signature "imminent death" , was so nice , i really liked the text , your such a talented girl.
Keep imagining.
I want to see more of your work.

03-11-2009, 09:12 AM
Your current signature is so sexy!
I don't know if it's that guy that makes the signature sexy to me...XD
I am loving the warm colors and the city skape. The highlights for me are the C4D and the pentool.
Great work, once again <3

Thanks everyone! ^.^

New sig based off the idea of negative space, hence the large amount of it in this sig...yeah.
It's a little too focused for me - I might try to expand the effects and get rid of some of it.

Extraction credit to the most powerful Serated!! *bows*

03-11-2009, 05:52 PM
Lovely new signature, Mira. lol @ negative space.

The abstract work behind the stock looks great. Its flowing wonderfully. I don't really like how the stock itself is just blue but its still very pretty. Overall I love it.

03-11-2009, 10:58 PM
Hey-hey, that looks cool :D
Loving the effects! It follows the overall flow nicely.
Depth is pretty nice too.

Although, I do think that the katana handle on right makes it a bit...unrealistic. And her glove does seem a bit blotched.

Still looks pretty nice though :3

the background around the focus is very well placed!

I do agree on Balance's comment about it though, try keeping the purple/violets as black, or deep brown.

Other than that, make a tut on it! 8D

WOW..those are beautiful sigs. You got ze skills that's for sure. Wish I could do something like that. I've messed around with Photoshop but still..eh. -__-

03-12-2009, 12:44 AM
I like the compo, but the colors need some work. Its way too blue and the render too bright. Try to limit the use of gradient maps.

Mira Kaiba
03-12-2009, 02:40 AM
Thanks for the comments everyone - here are some fixes. ^^

@Jaggy - the image was pretty much that color to start with - there wasn't a whole lot of color there, so I kind of kept it the same and just went with the blues.

@Unleh - Got rid of the katana on the right and fixed the glove. ^^

@Cross Marian - I actually only used one gradiant map, and it was to leech out some of the pre-existing blue within the extract. I did try to soften up the brightness on the extract though.

Thanks!! ^^

03-14-2009, 11:34 AM
I like the liquified thing there ^^ But the text in the first version...something is definitely wrong.

IMO, it would be better if it was behind her hair and not at the bottom of the tag.

03-14-2009, 12:25 PM
I like this. The text is the first one doesn't work at all though. We have to be able to see at least half of the "s" in space to understand what the word is. The "i" in negative should also be visible. The brain needs a little more to fill in the blanks, to make it look like you intended it that way.

Other than the text problem, it's a pretty nice sig. I have nothing to criticise about the second version. ^^

Mira Kaiba
04-14-2009, 08:38 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone...
@Darkandiel: I think if I made the text white it would be easier to see, but I kind of like the text the way it is, though I agree I should make the "s" visible in Space.

New stuff...some avvies for an Intuition challenge first off...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z58/MiraKaiba/icon1.png :: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z58/MiraKaiba/icon2.png :: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z58/MiraKaiba/icon3.png :: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z58/MiraKaiba/icon4.png :: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z58/MiraKaiba/icon5.png

And a new sig, which I think is more or less an epic fail...I've been so uninspired lately. :(
It needs additional effects or clipping masks or something...
And extract credit to Serated!! ^^

04-14-2009, 08:53 PM
This one would look great with more circles and without the border, which really hides the effects I find, and is overpowering :3

04-15-2009, 12:53 AM
I would of reversed that gradient in the background of your newest sig, but well done Mira. ^^

Memento Mori
04-15-2009, 07:56 AM
For the most recent sig: Not a big fan of the text. Not sure exactly why, it seems to flow well with the sig.

I would definitely remove the border.

Also, while I'm not a fan of L, that's definitely a cool avatar.

Mira Kaiba
04-17-2009, 08:14 PM
Thanks for the comments - I'll remove the border and add some more effects to that sig - thanks! In the meantime, here's my response to Serated's Dead Space challenge.

Extract, of course is by Serated. ^^

Great result for the deadspace challenge. Its very stunning. The red is so strong and it looks quite very awesome. I really think you did a good job with the lighting effects as well. Wonderful siggy.

04-24-2009, 12:58 AM
Haha your newest sig reminds me of the guy from the my bloody valentine movie. I love the grunge.

Mira Kaiba
04-28-2009, 11:47 PM
Thanks. Here are two more sigs - the first is a request for moony in a new style I was trying out, the second is my last week's SOTW in the same new style that came out pretty ok, though it could use some contrast/lighting work. ^^

04-30-2009, 11:54 AM

Could I see a tutorial or a the PSD on this tag? I think its very powerful.

Another thing, on the jet tag that you won the SOTW with, I didnt like how the jet is sort of pixelated. Everything else looks fine, but I dont understand why it looks that way. The only reason I can think is if you tilted it and didnt clean it up afterwards. Due to that, a lot of the very nice effects seem to be distorted, like the depth.

Mira Kaiba
05-04-2009, 10:11 PM
As per your request, I have made a tutorial for the Negative Space sig. It is in the tutorials section. ^_^

For the SOTW tag, the pixelly parts were smudging effects...but if it makes it look too pixely in conjunction with the sharpen, then I will work on that. I see how it looks pixely.

Here is a new set I completed for Angelic Assassin. ^^

05-05-2009, 02:01 PM
Wow, you're really talented! :)
I love your new set, I like the text placement in it and the light in it.! :)

Keep up the good work!

^^ Thanks, Urusai. Here is an Intuition job requested by Kuro. Sig and avvy based on the X-Men Origins movie. Gambit was pretty awesome, imo. Once again, text needs work.
