View Full Version : Ogi: Love that Beat

This wall is my submission to the "I love" contest. Since the contest is over, I figured I'd finally get around to posting it for critique purposes. So I'll post a bit about what went into it.

I started off with the Ogi girl, which was an old vector that took me about 3 hours to do. Luckly I had it saved, so I didnt have to be revector it @[email protected]

I then vectored some birds, which was pretty easy since I didnt add details, and they werent too large.
The music sheet was extracted, brought into AI, live traced, then brought back over to PS.

The buildings were extracted, though I used the magic wand tool here and there so I got a "grungy" look...though the final version really wasnt what I wanted [but I was too lazy to fix it]

Brushes: dots, the two vector brushes in the back [behind the girl], the bubbles, and the scan line on her shadown.

Then a texture was added because I thought it looked plain.

Overall time: about 7 hours [most of it was adding something, not liking it, and deleting it.]

Im happy with it, but I know it could do with some improvement...or at least some tips on what not to do on my next wall.

I knew I recognized that vector from somewhere. Nice job on the wall. You added a lot of different elements and still managed to make everything blend well together. My only critique here (and it's really a matter of personal preference than anything else.^^') is maybe add some blending effects to the character to make her stand out more? She's looking a little plain as it is.
