sabitsuita kokou no oka o aozameta tsuki ga terasu
sourou to arukitsudzuketa subete ushinatta mama
The pale moon illuminates this lonely, rusted hill
I kept staggering along, having lost everything
eien no sukima de ashi o tomete tsubasa iyasu tsumori mo nakute
kumo ga nagare kieyuku you ni ryuuri no namida michinaru yoru e
I don't intend to stop and rest my wings in the crevice of eternity
Like the clouds that flow and disappear, I send these wandering tears into the unknown night [1]
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
Leaving behind my origin as a distant memory
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
This journey through time has taken me too far to look back on it
tozasareta tobira no kagi wa meikyuu no kiri ga tsutsumu
nemuri kara samenai you ni kako mo shimaikomereba
The key to the sealed door is enveloped in the mists of the maze
So that I won't wake from this sleep, if I put away the past...
kotoba nado muryoku ni omou kurai setsuna-iro no gensou no toki
fui ni fureta sono nukumori ni yume no tsudzuki o miru no mo ii to
Even words seem almost powerless in this fleeting moment of illusion [3]
That warmth that I suddenly touched tells me it's all right to continue dreaming
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
yasuragi nado kikyuu suru no wa itazura na tsumi
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
maboroshi de mo tokei no hari mou sukoshi tomete itai
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
Seeking peace is a mischievous sin
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
Even if it's an illusion, I want to stop the hands of the clock for a while
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
ima wa koko de kako to mirai o kasaneawasete
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
tadoritsuita eien to iu kono nagai tabi no naka de
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
Here and now, I pile up the past and the future
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
I've struggled along, on this long journey
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
Why am I re-born, where I belong,
tadoritsuita eien to iu kono nagai tabi no tochuu
Why am I reborn, where I belong,
I've struggled along, in the middle of this long journey
[1] I'm really not sure about the way the various parts of this line relate to each other. I took a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong.
[2] Is there a better way to translate "帰する場所"? "The place I return to" makes it sound like she's going there now, which she's not. I almost want to translate it as "home," but I think that's too much of a stretch.
[3] I have no idea how to translate "刹那色" so that it doesn't sound completely bizarre.
