Anime (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/) / Ghost in the Shell (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/ghostshell/) / I Can't Be Cool (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/ghostshell/cantbecool.htm)

Needs a translation. The song is in Italian (of all languages), and I've run it through a Google translator (correcting some of the grammar and word choice), so my translation may not be perfect, but even if it is I can't seem to follow the link to post a translation on the page. It says I need to log in, even though I am (and at the top it says "Welcome !", possibly indicating an SQL read problem because my username is missing)

Lyrics:

Don't have the time to understand?
Decide not to remain immobile?
Hear the voices selling vain riches,
Deceitful power that will consume the air...

I can't be cool in chains
I can't be cool with eyes closed
I can't be cool under the remnants of a deep sleep
Of wars in the name of god

You think you have your life
Under the control of greedy men?
Listen, the voices who want to find peace
Are obscured by the powerful rulers of the darkness

I can't be cool without words
I can't be cool without reacting
I can't be cool because I already know that indifference
Closes the doors of humanity

I can't be cool in chains
I can't be cool with eyes closed
I can't be cool under the remnants of a deep sleep
Of wars in the name of god

I can't be cool in chains
I can't be cool with eyes closed
I can't be cool under the ruins of a world submerged
In the violence of humanity

I can't be cool in chains
I can't be cool with eyes closed
I can't be cool because I know already that indifference
Closes the doors of humanity

If you want another reality
Have the greatest gift,
Your freedom.
Listen...

Er no no no... if we don't accept Babelfish translations, it should also apply to non-Japanese lyrics too.

Oh, is that so? I didn't know. Either way, there IS a problem where the site doesn't properly recognize that I'm logged in. Sorry if I'm being a pain, just trying to provide something helpful, as you guys came up first on my google search for lyrics for GITS.

Well yea you need to be certified as a Level 2 Lyrics User to submit a translation. That's what the Japanese Tests are there for.

Of course, there needs to be translations for other languages, to enable these to be up those should be done via a PM to an admin.

Er...

This one sounds a lot babelfished to me

Thanks for pointing that out -- I'll see if I can fix it up later.

The problem is, when noone of the mods speaks the language a song is in, it's hard to judge...I usually denied songs in languages other than japanese in the past for the simple reason that I couldn't tell if it was a hoax or not...
(This applies of course to babelfish translations too, but if a poster says it's babelfish, that makes the decision whether to accept it or not a lot easier :P)

Well, it seems that the point of my original post has been nullified, but I have one request remaining, and that is that the error messages on the lyrics post page reflect the fact that I need special accreditation in order to post translations. It seems so much more like a log in error the way the site responded, saying I was not logged in when I very clearly was.

I think that error message you got is a mock message; I'll check this myself in a few days and then maybe tell Kaitou if it needs to be changed.

What exactly does the message say ?
Could you paste it in here ?

Because to post translations you need the pass the Japanese test,
and since you don't have the tag in your profile like "lyrics submissiob lv xy"
my guess is that's the problem...

Seems much much better now!

There still are some troubles with non ASCII chars, if you want i can post the right symbols, like we've done with I can't be cool (http://www.animeforum.com/showpost.php?p=1980755&postcount=3)

Maybe opening a new topic will do better, since we're going ot here.
EDIT: already done
