Cosplay Advice

I'll be volunteering or on staff at Sakuracon this year even though I haven't watched an anime since Toonami. So I need help. I've always wanted to cosplay. I need suggestions for female anime characters (ones that look at least 18+) with short dark hair (not boy short) since I'm too lazy to make/don't know how/don't want to buy a wig. So far I've thought of Yuffie, Faye Valentine, and Sailor Saturn. Any other suggestions please?

Rukia from Bleach got short hair. In my opinion, at least. o.O
Haruhi from Ouran high school Host club got very short boyish hair, but it's dark brown.

Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach or Hinata Hyuuga from Naruto could work.

Gally and Rukia seem look good ideas. Their hair is short but long enough, I don't have short boyish hair. I'm also looking for more um, "sexier" characters. Because if I wear a school girl uniform of any sort I will automatically loose 2 or 3 years in appearance-age. Anyone have a photo of what they normall wear/look like?

Osaki Nana from the anime "Nana" is perfect, I think ^^ I've seen your pictures and I think you'd suit her quite well. She's 20 in the anime, and dresses in a bit of a sexy style punk rocker.

Another nice thing about cosplaying her is that you can reference the live action version of her as well. They did a pretty good job. Plus, it's a fairly popular anime, so I think you would be recognized. If you choose her, make sure you include the tat on her arm ^_~
