Welcome to the Lyric Corrections board, or LC for short. Almost anyone can correct on-site lyrics (the Lv.0 ones could correct non-Japanese lyrics) provided sufficient arguments exist to warrant a correction.

The sole purpose for such a board is to not only correct existing lyrics however. Discussions of the lyric to be corrected at hand could still be held. It is also a chance for the poster of the old lyrics to defend his or her translation, but please be civil when this happens - remember that ultimately 1. no two translation will ever be the same from different translators, 2. there are ways for both translators to remain credited for the translation and 3. translators who have personal sites could still choose to differ from the version posted at AnimeLyrics.

However you do NOT have to post in this board if the correction is for a work that you yourself had done i.e. credited to your username or a former alias of yours. A Private Message to the working Lyrics Administrator would suffice. It is understood that lyricists improve over time; revisions of old work may come in extended periods, such redundancy (as with making a topic to correct your own work in the first place) could be avoided here.

If the correction is minor AND it is currently credited to an AnimeForum member, please contact the original submitter via email (if available) or Private Message, then afterwards another PM to the working Lyrics Administrator. A minor correction includes fixing a typo or typoes, or improving English delivery, or others of equivalent nature where essential meaning (for a translation) or structural value (for a transliteration) of a lyric is undisturbed. This usually will not warrant a change of contributor credit, but to the discretion of the Lyrics Administrator he or she may do so.

If you have progressed to this point, it is imperative that you have prepared the right credentials to make a post; including, but not limited to, the following:-

The current, working link of the on-site lyric. This is to make life easier for everyone involved, including other readers of your correction.
Citing parts of the current lyric, pointing out the errors, and accompanied with your specific correction. An explanation to your correction is needed for correcting translations.
The complete draft of the revised lyric, if you are suggesting that the entire transliteration and/or translation be replaced. Optionally you can upload a textfile of the lyric for the reason mentioned below. If you're just making a few small corrections, you don't need to do this.

Notes

This forum does not support the display of double-spacing. If you are a transliterator who applies this style in your formatting, then it is recommended that you upload a text file of your full transliteration in your post. Please do this accordingly, as shown by the instructions in the attachment below. Other suggestions include appending the escape code for space which is &nbsp(;) without the brackets, between the two spaces.

Youtube links of lyrics are managed by a different, closed group called video admins. For any questions regarding video links, contact Kaitou Ace through the Contact Us (http://www.animelyrics.com/contact/) form.

[Edit 5/23/17 by bluepenguin] When submitting a correction, please stick to discussing the lyrics and refrain from any personal comments or speculations about the original contributor, such as "it must be a beginner who did this" or "how stupid would you even have to be to make this dumb mistake?" Many contributors are active on the forums and such comments are very rude to them.
