It may not seem like it, but I had an old account in January of 2005. I stopped coming on that account 5 months later or something similar to that nature. I am still new compared to a lot of you though.

I don't remember much back then, but I think Member_Name had a ton of arcade rewards, Myrra had a sig stating what wife number she was, and something about the AF royal family.

There were also little bodyguard people you can make with a job and gender. I had a sniper or something like that.

Eh, I'm still fairly young compared to the real oldies. Four years (disregard the join date on this acc) compared to nearly ten is a fairly large difference. Although I have seen a bit of the AF community back in 99' I was still too young to really comprehend anything though.

Anyway, as for the people who deserve the hall of fame mention...people like Fabala, Ai or Eris. Rather the people who've been around for a long time and have stuck to AF and have produced thoughtful/meaningful posts.

I haven't been totally active in AF but I was really active when this place was still Anime Globe, and I was Umi-Chan. It does make me feel old haha. Of course I would say I think people like Ai should be in the hall of fame (I found an old pic of her on my comp the other day haha... blackmail? >D)

What of the Anime Forum Hall of Fame? What happened to the topic of this thread? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for turning a discussion on its head providing that there is some entertaining aspect involved, but... Are you all so pathetic that you feel the need to look up old material rather than create new memories? This has gone on for three and a half pages already! Get productive! Come up with new fun! Why am I the only one with the gall to allege that Saiyans are in fact Soviet Cosmonauts or that Curtis LeMay will one day rise from the dead and burn Naruto's wooden villages to the ground with massive napalm raids, or that the anime character I most wish to be is the Enola Gay as seen in Barefoot Gen, or that Steve Howe is an extraordinarily beatiful man? Have you all lost your nerve and your sense of humor? Judging from posts, many of you would excel at serious mockery of the anime on this site and yet you restrain yourselves to an extent that prohibits any great fun. Why? Why aren't you jumping manically at such a rich opportunity? Even when I first joined, which was not long ago at all, three of the more jaunty long-time members were always prepared to mock the fools in all arenas, apparently not content with merely the Miscellaneous forum. It seems that has changed for the worse.
You talk amongst yourselves about the good old days. I feel like describing it as almost antebellum, it's so absurd. The forum would likely not be so decrepit if you would come up with a few ideas (excluding "Which rot is best" and the like) while ridiculing the new users who have not yet learned proper Internet etiquette. It would also help greatly if you'd give the other forums a chance every now and then rather than rejecting them outright. You could turn poor threads on their heads, making them into better threads; you all certainly seem to be capable of doing such alterations here!
The greatest problem that can easily be fixed is posters refusing to expand upon their answers. If responses were not so rigidly obedient to the original post, discussions would have much greater potential. I've tried doing this, but my tactics are rarely reciprocated. Go ahead and answer the question on the would-be spam thread, but then respond to other posters, too.
If you guys would stop whining about the noobs for a few and waxing nostalgix for a little while and actually try to actively better the situation concerning spammy and shallow thread topics, the forum might just improve.
In addition, a noob will continue to be a noob if their shock at internet culture is answered with a smug "Welcome to the internets" or something similar. Take a moment of your oh-so-precious time to explain to them why the internet functions socially as it does; they might adapt a bit better.

I'm sorry my words were as belligerent as these, but I felt this needed to be said. I'm just sick of whining and moaning by the older members while they refuse to actually do anything to resolve their grievances. I'm sorry if I offended anyone in particular.

I was never banned, I was warned. I never felt any real tangible effect of it. I think it only limited how often you could post down to like once a minute, so I guess I didn't really think about it when I got my second name.
