皆さん、ひさしぶり~ 元気?

I've been thinking of having some kind of Japanese language contest in the forum. Something to try out your skills, have a little fun with Japanese, etc etc. Any ideas?

So far I was thinking haiku (5-7-5 style), jokes, or calligraphy/kana art.

What about making limericks rather than haiku? ie, a humorous poem that uses an 8-8-5-5-8 scheme; it doesn't necessarily have to rhyme, I suppose. Haiku are rather overdone, after all, and it's easier to judge humor across a wide base than it is to judge how poetic something is. Just something different, eh?

I was just thinking haiku because it's easy. I've been doing contests for years, and if the contest is hard, people won't enter. I just thought that everyone knows what a haiku is and humor is not easy for everyone. ;)

I'm interested in calligraphy! Or maybe there can be some crossword puzzles?

My English writing is terrible...my Japanese is almost as bad...I wouldn't mind a haiku though, although my vocabulary is mostly focused on day-to-day conversation and famous/well-known Japanese things, so I'm not sure if I'd be any good at a haiku contest...
