View Full Version : [Annual Contest] Sig Master 2007 Finals Voting

11-09-2007, 04:43 PM
Hey all,
this is the last step our participants must take to prove if they really have everything it takes to be Sig Masters 2007. This time their challenge was to pick some random photo of themselves or any other found on the Internet and transform it into anime. Do you think they succeeded? Well ... let's check it up.

The voting will have the following rules::
- you can vote for max 1 work of art;
- you can vote only once. Keep in mind we can find out if you have voted more than once with different accounts;
- you cannot vote for yourself;
- try to explain why you voted for that sig (I would appreciate that :p);
- the contest is anonymous, so please, if you recognize somebody keep that information for yourself.

The voting will end on Friday (11/16/2007)!

Let's play a fair game, OK, and good luck to the participants ;)

Here come the sigs:

Entry no.1 - Wonderwice:

Entry no.2 - X-Wind:

Entry no.3 - angelic_assassin:

Entry no.4 - -Ookami-:

Entry no.5 - Mira Kaiba:

Entry no.6 - buhbibutterfly:

Entry Number 5 is who I vote for. ^_^

Because it caught my attention the most. It had the most vibrant colors and I think it shows a good contrast between the picture and the background. Makes the person stand out. x3 I don't know. I just really like it. XD

I choose Entry No. 5

3, I feel that... That one, is the closest one to well represent the theme.

I choose 3. It seems nice and pretty. :3

I vote for number 5. Great colours, picture, and background.

Somewhat, it seems a lq digital painting. The b/g texture is also nice. The text and the borders should go imo.

Number 1 got my vote.
The details of the person are nice, especially the eyes, and it's nicely blended.
The colors look good together.
The text looks good, although a bit small and it's a bit too sharp.

11-09-2007, 06:49 PM
I pick 5 because it has the cleanest (I'm assuming) vectored character. Brush effects were done well too.

11-09-2007, 07:22 PM
I like entry number 1.

11-09-2007, 07:28 PM
I love Entry no.3, it speaks to me in a way,
It's also very lovely ^___^

11-09-2007, 07:29 PM
Entry 3. It has a nice feeling to it and its really clean.

:3 Good luck to all participants!

My vote goes to Entry 3, it stands out from the rest and whereas the rest kind of look too sharp, it looks a lot softer and looks as it should so well done ^-^

Number 5 gets my vote; interesting colors, character and effects.

Entry No. 5 caught my atention. Despite being rather large, I like the BG; vibrant and well-balanced between dark and light tones. The stock looks clean even for artistic theme like this.

G'luck to all!

This one was a hard pick.

Number 5 is the one that stands out most because of the colours used, but the image is far too bright and while the text coaxes a dream theme, the signature just doesn't capture that feeling. The text in the background seems like pointless filler, given that it cannot be read, it's just one of my pet peeves concerning signatures. The header and footer seem to serve no purpose in the overall signature, they're like unwanted bystanders in a holiday photo...

Entries 1 and 6 have that anime feel to them but the backgrounds don't seem to compliment the images all too well. If they were music, they'd be quite non-diegetic and not in the Vangelis sort of way! In Entry 6 the background seems too random, while the image in entry 1 is superimposed too far forward, to capture a despair type feel the image should almost seem lost within the background.

Entry 3, didn't seem uniform in the anime effects, sure the face and the hands were there (or getting there) but the hair and clothes didn't quite make it, which gives it a copy and paste type effect. The background also seems too plain.

Entry 2 doesn't really catch the eye all too well, upon analysis, I can't seem to shift focus away from the gradient, which I don't particularly like.

Entry 4, gives a chaotic kind of feel. The use of tones and minimalist colour gives a nice compliment to both the image and the background. It may not be as boisterous as Entry 5, but I feel as if it satisfies the theme more than any of the other signatures and has a sound employment of signature techniques.

So, Entry 4 gets my vote.

Although it should be noted that I didn't particularly like any of the entries upon first glance and it was only under intense scrutiny that I could come upon any form of choice. Which for a signature isn't that good, most of the time you only give a signature one glance before moving on to the next post.

Bad reps will be taken with pride!

Number 1: I think the whole anime conversion works best with this signature. I also like the contrast with the background.

11-10-2007, 02:38 AM
For me: entry 5 b/c of the bright bold colors. ^_^

11-10-2007, 03:17 AM
My vote goes to entry 3. Out of the ones that seemed to really fallow the theme, it looks the best. I like the color too.

11-10-2007, 03:25 AM
I'm deciding while I'm typing so...

Entry 1 has the best converted to anime picture in my opinion but the person stands out against the background a bit.

Entries 5 and 6 are too bright for my tastes overall.

Entry 2's character looks less clear than the background which makes it look odd to me

Entry 4's character blends into the background in places but the transparency looks good.

Entry 3 still looks a bit real but it's very soft and has nice colouring.

So Entry 3 has my vote!

they're all so good!! i have to say though....#3 because i think its relaxing and there's butterflies XD j/k the butterflies are a nice added touch ;)

Number 3 gets my vote - it is very nicely composed, and it has one of the better transformed images of the group. The colors are very nice as well.

11-11-2007, 12:44 AM
I choose #3.
Actually I can't pick between #1 and #3. Since both really caught me. So I tossed coins. [it was my last choice on which to decide]

11-11-2007, 12:50 AM
One because i like it best (colors)

11-11-2007, 10:11 AM
Entry #3
I chose it because i like the way the character is incorporated in the sig...Butterflies add to its dreamy feel...Character transformation is not awkward.

entru no 5 got my vote.
just live the colour.. and BG

entry no 3 not bad also..

but still i vote entry no 5

11-12-2007, 08:14 PM
I choose entry 5. The background colour and light effect is attractive.

11-12-2007, 10:34 PM
I vote for entry no.5 cause that's the one who caught my eye. I just love it.

11-13-2007, 04:14 AM
no 5.
The Idea was incredibly unique. The lines-leak was nice~

no 1 was nice too! but its just a wee-bit dark.

11-13-2007, 07:46 PM
For creativity, I'll have to go with number five. I really like how the user made it very simple, yet it really emphasizes the connection between the person and the butterfly.

It was hard to decide... -.-

11-13-2007, 07:55 PM
My vote goes to number 5. I like the colours and background. It was so eye-catching and it was nicely done.

Entry No. 3

uhm.... very neat and really looks like an anime.... :3

11-15-2007, 09:32 PM
Entry #3! :D
Because it's seems to reflect the theme best, and also because its colors are relaxing and it gives off a nice feeling. :3
