A few examples of errors:
- I'm falling in love with you, and which will come to pass?
should be: How long has it been since I fell in love with you? ("tatsu" is pass as in time, not pass as in "come to pass")
- Therefore, I should be free of you
should be: And so I wish that I had never met you (this is pretty much the literal translation of the line. I don't know where the original translator got "I should be free of you" from. I guess it could be argued that hers just takes poetic license, but to me "I should be free of you" has a very different feeling from "I wish I had never met you.")
- If we meet in a biting cold blizzard, I won't feel cold, and
should be: So that even in an icy wind or a blizzard, I won't feel cold (the "to" at the end of the line is part of the structure "you ni to," which is "so that"; it's not the "to" that means "and".)
- This scarf that I knit for you
should be: This half-finished muffler (or scarf, doesn't matter. What does matter is that "amikake" means "half-finished," not "made for you.")
