I can't believe there's no Foo Fighters thread yet...here's the rundown:


Dave Grohl: Rhythm Guitar, Lead Singer, Drums sometimes (but not enough times)
Taylor Hawkins: Drums, Backing Vocals.
Nate Mendel: Bass
Chris Shiflett: Lead guitar, backing vocals.

Genre: Early stuff is more Grungish, more recent stuff is straight Alt Rock.

Years active: 1995 - Present (12 years)

Grohl released the self titled under the pseudonym "Late!", the album was called Pocketwatch. he released this during the time when he was drumming for Nirvana.

I've always liked Grohl more as a drummer, but some of his guitar and vocal stuff is OK.

Everlong, however, is one of the greatest songs ever. And a great video.

I'm not too impressed by any of the songs I've heard. They seem to be a band that I don't like as much as someone would think I would. Although, I listened to some of the new album and it wasn't bad.

I've been a Foo Fighters fan for a while now. I just bought the Foo Fighers "Skin and Bones" DVD for my brother this Christmas. I like many songs from them like, "My Hero", "Learn to Fly", "Everlong" and "DOA".

I don't like it when people love the Foo Fighters JUST because they like "Best of You" and "The Pretender". They have better songs then just their popular ones.

Dave Grohl is so awesome. He used to be the drummer for Nirvana.

Psh... I love the Foo Fighters... I envy Dave Grohl... not only is he pretty successful with his music, BUT- he even got to make music with some of his own music idols like King Diamond... hell yes. Now THAT is awesome.

I like them. They're not particularly original, and they're certainly nothing special. But I'm a definite fan. Saw them a few years ago now, and they were fantastic.

Pretty good stuff. Everlong is a great song, as is Learn to Fly and The Pretender. Monkey Wrench is addictive as well.

They aren't too bad. Though I agree with Gan about the "not-filler filler" thing. I've never been too big of a fan of Dave Grohl, but I can appreciate him as a musician.

I like Alone + Easy Target, Friend of a Friend, My Hero, and Everlong.

Foo Fighters are love. My brother got me into them, and I just love everything of theirs. They can maintain quality music with serious topics or something, and then balance it out with Hi-larious videos.
