er...Buckethead's alright. I understand his musical mind is beyond my understanding, but I just don't dig music that often times just...doesn't sound like music. Like some of his guitar solos are literally random notes played at one million miles per hour. It hurts my head. Out of the four you listed I'd say Buckethead and Hendrix win there. My favorite guitar player, personally, is John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers

From what little I've heard of him, he's alright.

But Hendrix is the one on your list I dig most. Josh Homme is the one I dig most as a guitarist period.

Those two songs are from Colma. That album is definitely a far cry from heavy metal - it's very calm, somber, and atmospheric. It's kind of dull sometimes, and a little samey, like Beck's Sea Change, but every once in a while I like to listen to it. It can be relaxing.

The other album of his I have is Population Override, which feels mostly jazz and funk oriented. I remember really liking it when I first listened to it, but it's been a while since I've listened to it, so I only remember a few details about the album. The last song, "...", is cool; two of the really long songs ("A Day Will Come" and "Unrestrained Growth") are good, I think; and one of the songs on the album didn't really grab me.

That must be so helpful.

He's an interesting artist. I'm not sure how much of his output is heavy metal and how much isn't, but he seems to have a lot of variety and creativity. I just wish there was an easy way to get more concrete details about his 40-or-whatever albums.

The thing I like most about Buckethead is his creativity. He doesn't limit himself to just one type of music, he can do many different styles and do all of them rather well. Out of that list, I'd say Buckethead.

Some of my favorite songs of his are Sketches of Spain (For Miles) and Nottingham Lace.

He's okay...
Not much of interesting to me, but good artist...
I prefer more Satriani's guitar play...
But I'll have to add that I really liked Padmasana song...
Neat sound, pleasure to my ears...
Other's are.. well, just not my style..

I think that he is okay i'm not the biggest fan of his music however i guess i would not mind having it playing the background as Hama said he is just really not my style

I personally love Buckethead. His style is... strange, but that's how I like my music.

My favorite songs... I'd say Soothsayer, Nottingham Lace, Jump Man, Padmasana, or Pepper's Ghost... It all so good ^_^.

John 5 is good... but it just doesn't have the same feel as Buckethead's stuff. Never was a huge fan of Malmsteen and Jimi is kinda overrated >_> (I still like him... he's just not the greatest ever).
