Haven't seen thread like this...

Well,here's a little something I came across...
In early days,Blind Guardian were known as speed metal, but lately, they've been more like power/progressive metal...
They're band from Krefeld/NRW (sp?),and were formed in 1985...
Lyrics are using themes from tales, legends and even Tolkien stories...
Over the years, they started writing lyrics inspired with traveling bards...

Their discography is mixed, that is they were working together with some other bands forming Demons&Wizards (with founder of Iced Earth, one of my favorite bands),also were guests in Angra,Gamma Ray etc.
Actually,mostly just singer,but that's more than enough...
When they were formed, they were known as Lucifer's Heritage, and released two demos,Symphonies of Doom and Battalions of Fear...

Their other albums can be found easily,so I won't bother to post them here...

Hansi Kürsch - Vocals (Bass 1985-1995)
André Olbrich - Lead Guitar
Marcus Siepen - Rhythm Guitar
Frederik Ehmke - Drums

~ hope I got everyone names right ~

I'm not huge fan of these, but they do have decent songs...
But I can say that I enjoy in songs such as And the Story Ends,Anohter Holy War,The Bard's Song and similar to those...

Now,I'd like to hear other opinions about them...

Despite their undeniable originality, I have never been a Blind Guardian fan. Anyhoo, most Power and Progressive Metallers go ga-ga over this German band.

^^ I like a select few of their songs but I'm not a huge fan of Blind Guardian ... overall though they're still a good band, not awesome ... but they're good at least. Best songs of theirs in my opinion would be The Bard's Song - In The Forest, Another Strange Me, Another Holy War and Age of False Innocence. ^-^ Those are my favourites, I prefer their songs where their vocals seem kind of vaguely similar to Sonata Arctica but that could be just me...
Just one question also .. anyone have any idea what were they thinking when they covered songs like Mr.Sandman, Surfin USA and Barbara Ann/Long Tall Sally? I really don't but it's frightening o.0

Because they're a ridiculous band with ridiculous music...You can interpret that as you'd like...
