I hope you don't want to learn just so you can watch anime without subtitles, because you won't be able to without several years of intense studying.

Japanese is not an easy language. It is frustrating and has specific grammatical phrases to say anything. If you are serious about learning Japanese, more power to you. If you are serious, take it in High School if it's offered. If it isn't Learn Hiragana and Katakana, some of the basic particles and usages, then take it in college and get a good Japanese Penpal for language exchange (they're everywhere). [/rant]
