TOKKO (特公, Tokkō? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Japanese))
SciFi Channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sci_Fi_Channel_%28United_States%29) is airing TOKKO as part of its Anime Monday beginning June 18, 2007 at 11:30 p.m. Eastern.
The setting of the story is that the main character, Ranmaru, lives with his younger sister since they moved from Machida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machida)(a city located in the western part of Tokyo greater metropolis), 5 years ago.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokko_(manga)#_note-1) He has also been having recurring dreams of a girl for some time, but they are growing more frequent. She seems to be covered in blood holding a giant sword.
At the beginning of the tale, Ranmaru graduates from his cadet class to become a new investigator for The Special Mobile Investigation Troops First Division or TOKKI to avenge his parent's death. Later on the day of his graduation, he sees the girl from his dream wearing a police uniform. She is a member of Section 2, known officially as Special Public Safety Task Force, or Tokko (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokko_%28manga%29#About_Tokko) for short, being under the eye of the Public Security Investigation Agency. Throughout the story, it is explained that there are many rumors about Tokko, one of which is that they use swords to execute criminals. There are also rumors that they aren't even human.
It later is revealed that all of Section 2 bears a tattoo. This is their "symbiote tattoo" It marks them as carriers of a "Phantom". There are two classifications of phantom: Evil and good, but the spirit's Alignment is unknown until it is awakened in the host. The tattoo also imparts a type of protection from other phantoms and expands after their awakening. Not all of the symbiotes are with Section 2, as more is revealed.

So who has watched this anime? And what do you think of it? Sorry if this is double posted..but I searched...So what do you think? :p

I've not been impressed by the episodes shown on Scifi, so far. Not hating it, though.

I agree with Slumber, there is nothing aired so far that strikes me as impressive.

Also, the monsters can only be killed by swords? What form of bolus is that? If the swords were magical or some such, I would understand, but not a plain sword. Seeing as how a bullet and a sword are both metal and are both designed to go through flesh, the logical man would assume it'd make no difference, unless the monster have a Dune-like sheild.

But that'd cause even more problems.

I agree. With no special attributes that is just illogical.

Tokko was interesting at the beginning, but it remained so static and nothing really changed in it, even after watching most of the series. So, I stopped watching it, and paying attention to it. I didn't even know it was licensed until Opinionated told me it was on Sci-Fi.

I've been watching it on Ani-Monday since it began to air, and I haven't been very impressed. I didn't even watch last night's episode because I was so bored with it.

The beginning was alright, but nothing ever happened. The dub was absolutely horrible to boot.

I did like the beginning theme though.
