I approved of it. It was rather dark and angsty, but that's the way a vampire anime should be portrayed. Failures such as Trinity Blood don't deserve the recognition they seem to be given, while less popular animes like Vampire Hunter D don't gain enough of it. 'VHD' was fair, complete with rough action scenes and touches of drama here and there.

7/10

I absolutely adore Vampire Hunter D. The storyline is so simple but captures me to no end and the art style just blows me away. I plan on reading the books as well since a friend of mine has informed me that the books offer much more detail into D's character so it's on my to do list.

I thought Vampire Hunter D was wonderful and to be honest I liked the sequel even more but I seem to be the only one. I prefer my anime of the darker variety though. I don't think Trinity Blood is by any means a failure its just a drama more then an action show sometimes. The character design is incredible though which is why I think so many people like it so much. The cross from that show is really great as well reminds me of something H.R. Giger would do.

I think that VHD is really awesome! D's character is great and I love the storyline of the second movie.

Yeah I thoght Vhd was awsome and the sequal was equally well done though I prefereed the first one, reason being The atmosphere was reminescent of old vampire movies and not this new way of portraying Vamps were there torturd souls etc which I prefer.

I watched the second one (bloodlust) first and really liked the plot. It was short but covered alot of ground really thoroughly. Not to mention the animation was gorgeous. And it's fun to watch someone like D. The first wasn't bad either. I really hope they come out with more but that might be wishful thinking.

this movie is a classic...it falls into the same awesomeness as Ninja Scroll... but thats my opinion, and mainly cuz I saw both of em when I was like 10...where blood and guts was the best thing to watch !!! :D

but being 18 and looking back at em...I still think they're really great stories!

I have to say Vampire Hunter D, the first movie and Bloodlust are very awesome movies. It is great to see such darkness put up on screen. I do suggest that you watch it with the lights out however, since the whole setting is dark colors, the glare of a light sometimes blocks something out that you would want to see. (Some one getting their head chopped off for instance.) I had seen the first one a while ago, and then I found out my friend Neil had Bloodlust I freaked. I begged him for hours (On my knees and everything -snickers-) So he finally caved. It was well worth the effort.
