mAnga or manga?

I was talking to a friend today about the pronunciation of the word "manga." He says it's with the long A sound as in the word "ain't." I say it with the short a sound. Or I guess it's the o sound. As in the word "shot." What is the correct way to say it??? IS there a correct way to say it???

Here's something, if you pronounce it like mang-ga or mang-a it means, mango. Mangga is tagalog of Mango.. ( fruitty!!) n_n

Basically it's just a comic once we know what you said it's all the same thing -_-.MAnga,Mah-n-gah.,Mang-ga.It's the one word once we know what you said then theres no problem.

Lucky!! I'm the only manga fan in my class...TTxTT It gets lonely sometimes...haha! I pronounce it mahn-ga because my sister always pronounced it like that...When I was little I used to say either maynga, maygna, or magna. She said she'd kill me if I said it any other way besides mahn-ga. Maybe the reason it stuck is because of my sister scaring the heck outta me.

I pronounce manga as "Oldboy." I don't read much manga, I prefer American comics since they're so much better. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, they should all just be called comics. Keep it simple stupid.

Just like how I pronounce it. But in Japanese 'a' sounds like the 'a' in father. Kind of like ar.

Depends what language I suppose. Conventional English would render it "Man-ga" (ie. Mango with an a) but in Japanese I believe it would be more like "Mahnga"
