k so i was sitting here with my two guy friends and they changed the channel and basketball was on. of course i'm one of the chicks who don't really like sports unless i can be there to be the really loud fan (football games with crazy friends mostly).

now i wanted to know if that really is a guy thing. you know, when ever they see sports on tv they jump like it's porn or something...

i really thought that was a stereotype...

Honestly I'm a guy who isn't all into sports unless blood or violence are involved. Maybe it's the way people were raised that allows them to get into the moment of a televised sport.

I am a guy that likes to watch some sports, but if a good movie or something better is on then I will watch that instead. The only time sports is important is when the playoffs are on other than that it is kind of boring.

acualy some like sceince person did some reasearch and found it gets there blood pumping becasue it has to do with way back when caveman days they would hunt and gather run around do stuff like that there some conection some were i forgot becasue i wasnt that interested but yeah it has something to do with that.......i dont know look it

If its fast, yes. Otherwise no I dislike sports.
I cant see how people like sport such as baseball or football or american football.
The only sport I could ever find myself enjoying is hurling.

err sports what is that, i like watchen scrubs is that sport, no it is a common missconseption that all guys are sports finatics it is just the fights that the guys wont, ya know box yar mate in to the floor enoght and you will feel better about sitting board out of your mind watchen tele heh ^_^'

Meh, sports bore the hell outta me, I only like to watch stuff like F1, MotoGP, BSB, WSB, BTCC and WRC (all motorracing). I'm not a fan of "active" sports like Hockey, Football, Rugby etc.

I find sports to be boring, ESPECIALLY when they're on T.V, I don't understand how guys can just sit there and totally be transfixed on it.

That depends. If it's a basketball or baseball game, I always change the channel. But if it's a football game, or god willing here in the US a hockey game, I'm glued to it.

I dunno, I guess steriotypically, males like to play sports and be competitive, and when we're stuck sitting on the couch, watching those sports is the next best thing.

The only sports I care for are hockey and UFC/Pride. If I am watching that and someone turns it off, I will either grab a hockey stick or MMA gloves that I have hidden somewhere near by and beat them with it.

I am a rare breed of jock/nerd hybrid. I would always rather actually go outside and play sports with my friends than play video games or watch tv. But I was never into watching any sport until I actually started playing it. The biggest reason that I watch sports (aside from entertainment) is to learn. When you watch pros you get a better idea of how to play the game. You can learn about techniques and skills you can use to make yourself a better player.

Sports I'll watch:
Basketball
Football
Track & Field Events
Baseball (Only playoff, Yankee or Mets games)
Boxing/MMA

Sports I'll play but won't watch:
Beach Volleyball
Hockey (If I ever learn to skate well enough)
Pool/Billiards
Bowling
Golf
Rugby
Cycling
Darts

Usually the more I actually participate in a sport, the more inclined I'll be to watch it. But then again there are some sports that I find fun to play but boring to watch.

Not all guys (obvoiusly) are loud & crazy sports fans. Usually the ones who are can't actually play the sport well.

UFC isn't a sport. UFC eats sports for breakfast, digests it, and craps out a concentrated level of awsome. UFC is about here on the scale of awsome.

The only sport I like to watch is Track & Field, because I really get excited when the runners go to their mark... it gives me sometimes the same adrenaline rush as my own competitions (weird isn't it?). But I don't really look forward to watching it, if I happen to find it while zapping I watch otherwise not.
And I watched Football (Soccer) last summer because it was in Germany and everobody went crazy... I just couldn't resist the hype.

er. I'm a girl so this doesn't really apply to me. However, if I catch Andy Roddick playing, I tend to stay glued to the TV until his match is over. Other then that I don't really like sports, unless a guy tries to get me into a sport...in which case I'll at least hear them out.

And just to stay a bit more on topic, all of my guy friends like some sort of sport (though I don't think they are obsessed)

I'm a guy. I hate sports. I'm just not good. I am good at snowboarding though.
Also, if you're asking guys from an anime forum if they like sports you are probably going to get a very large ammount of guys saying no. I'd say most normal average guys enjoy sports a lot and that it's a bit of a true stereotype...I think sports are a good thing (fitness), but they are much too overrated and too much money is wasted on them. My high school would have A LOT of better things if it didn't spend so much of it's budget on sports, mainly the football team.
