Chinese County Decides to Paint Mountain Green
In February, the government of southwestern China's Fumin county decided to improve the feng shui (the harmony of the physical environment) for villagers next to mined-out Laoshou mountain, not by planting trees but by spray-painting the mountainside green. An employee at the county "forestry" department declined to comment to an Associated Press reporter.

Man believed to be using a laptop is killed in car crash
California Highway Patrol officers at the scene near Yuba City, Nev., said the 28-year-old driver that crossed into oncoming traffic and fatally crashed into a Hummer in February was, perhaps, working at his laptop computer while driving. Though the screen was shattered in the crash, the computer was open in the seat beside him and plugged into his car's cigarette lighter.

People may wonder why I post such weird articles, maybe it's to make news trendy, or just for a lark. With all the more serious issues and news articles posted on AF I think it's good to be able to laugh at the more obscure events happening in the world. I mean c'mon, a mountain being spray painted green for Christ's sake!

Huh? Serious articles on AF??? Those are few and far between my friend.

But it's always enjoyabel to laugh at the random stupidity of our fellow man. It makes us feel smarter...until your driving down the highway and decide to use your laptop to check out some funny articles on AF lol.

Either way, keep up the good work.

There isn't a need for more sci-fi geeks per-se. Just that more of us need to come out of our closets and admit to it.

Indeed. My MO is to sprinkle obscure sci-fi references a little bit here and there, to draw the sci-fi geeks out of the closet as they are overcome with an urge to comment on how they got the reference. This (http://www.animeforum.com/showpost.php?p=1628826&postcount=7) remark, for an instance, refers to a crazy organization in Lexx (the AFR, and the AFR-IC respectively).

That Chinese one is great. Since when did they actually care about originality? Instead of replanting the mountain just paint it green and pretend it's healthy and beautiful. With that sort of mindset no wonder they can't do anything but produce crappy knock offs from shoes to works of art.

Honest to God... spray painting a mountainside green..
