There are/may be 3 tipes of lag:
In Towns: There is and there's no way to get rid of it (especially in DownHang x_x) >_>; Due to may people and lots of stalls.
Out of towns: there shouldn't be one ... if it lags, check your graphic settings first, then check if you have some programs that slows down the comp and/or the net.
Attack delay: Well, also a lag, but it's more a bug. With the last update they screwed something and still haven't been able to fix it ;_;

It doesn't take very long at all.

The game is alright, but I got bored of it pretty quickly.

Any suggestions for a starting skill? I have upped my points to strength so far, I'm at level 4 I believe.

Ice = mostly on defense, has the weakest attack.
Lightning = offensive and speed, with "Piercing Force Series" has the strongest attack.
Fire = offensive and strength, the best for those that want to go with pure strength.

For glavie users the best would be pure strength + fire
Spear users mostly go with pure int + fire & lightning
Blade users it's suggested pure str and fire
Sword would be good with pure int + lightning & fire (ice is also nifty with swords)
Bow ... I've seen lots people suggest pure str and fire .... but personally I like pure int + lightning & ice (or fire instead of ice).

I tend to leen towards swords and ice. I love the range attacks that you get with the sword, and the speed that you can attack. With ice added to that, though it does not do more damage than other elements, you can freeze the enemy in their tracks. I had a high level character with pure lightning before, and I had gotten beaten by a lower level that had ice magic, so that's what I would go with.

It's fun to have archers period. But then some uber-STR guy comes in and murders your low HP, weak DEF archer. But... SHOOT 'EM IN THE BACK!

Anyways, I'm in a gaming rut right now. FlyFF is a half-hearted distraction and Corum(which I spent 11hrs and 44 minutes downloading) is, at best, a demo. The 35 minute download makes me a little happy. I'll join Alps probably with Opinionated or, if I feel really odd, Oppykins. Just if you want to find me.

Oh, and it seems that the attack-delay bug has been fixed. For once, I can start a MMO without expecting problems!

Anyway, for archers ... depends, full str archers are quite hard to kill xD

That was actually more of a riff on games that seperate the bow damage stat from STR, like FlyFF, where NO ONE who went down the Acro path should ever consider putting anything into STR, which deals with damage and HP. No STR = Little HP. Hope your bow works.

Heh. I actually played this at my friend's place a few times. I have a level 10 glaive...is that what they called it? The sword/spear combo-looking thing...on Xian. All I really remember about the gameplay was some high level archer following me around and taking all my kills. I think this was back in November...

And I was just watching some people PVP outside of south gate Donwhang, and it's funny watching some people get owned.. I noticed a lot of people use spears and glavies... and then get owned by a blader.. Now that I think about it, I've never seen someone PVP with a bow xD

Im a lvl 51 glaiver so i dont know much about str bladers but they can tank well in wars and pvp. one other build ive yet to beat in pvp is a sword nuker.

bow suck in pvp so not many choose that build.
but apparently an int hybrid bow isnt bad so ive been told.

my build recommendations:
pure str blade
pure str glaiver
2:1 int hybrid spear nuker
pure int sword nuker (ive heard some people go int hybrid later on cos they cant compete well in jobs and job wars)
pure str bow

I just installed this yesterday and it took me about half an hour before I could log in and create a character and that was because all the servers were crowded and every time I tried a second time to connect I got disconnected and booted out of the game completely.

I think I'll stick to the games I have installed where I can stick my username and password in and connect straight away.

Flame wave wide is just a cool looking AoE skill and Snow storm ice Rain is just a even cooler looking even weaker AoE skill.

Meh, I've stopped playing because my computer is kind of iffy. I got a level 6 hybrid build archer so far specializing in Lighting. I discovered that the five second selfbuff lightning skill plus the basic power shot kills every monster in my current farm zone. Cheap, but effective.

I use a nice SOM blade ^^
running around in the desert and killing some Demon Horse now. Really like this game, first and only MMORPG I'm playing :p

I've got Oppikin on Alps. Currently he's a hybrid lightning archer. That combo I mentioned is: Thundertiger Force + Anti-Devil bow missile. Deals damage in the 90's with a slight chance for some spread damage on clustered enemies, maybe 8 or so(not a true AOE nor AOE substitute).

Just downloaded the european expansion to Silkroad. Pretty interesting, since character classes seem to be a bit more important now. Most of the european classes are powerhouses. o_O;

eSRO is pretty much based on party play .... get a healer, a warlock/wizard and you pretty much pwn all mobs.

Me and 3 friends rotate who is using the level 80 char (Str arhcer also, best person to use) - I also have 2 computers and friend has a laptop and desktop so that's 4 characters logged in ^_^.

Plus, it's a lot more fun when you have a lot of people around your level.
