UFO's aren't paranormal, they're extraterrestrial.
Bigfoot isn't paranormal, it's cryptozoology.

Paranormal= Beyond scientific explination.
Bigfoot actually has several scintific theories behind it, as do extraterestrials. Things such as ghosts, spirits, and demons have no scientific backing to it. Big foot can be written off as a missing link in the primate family, or some kind of unseen mutation or family of mutations. UFO's can be written off as being from another planet with amazing technology that could easily kill this pathetic rock if they have the technology to actually reach it.
Ghosts and spirits on the other hand have no scientific backing beyond mind tricks.

As for hating you, I don't. You aren't worth that effort.

Bigfoot actually has several scintific theories . point one the key word is theory not fact
point 2 to be proven fact it would need a dead body to be found so there

In science, accepted theory is as close to fact as you can come. Do not confuse the scientific term theory with the word's colloquial meaning.

Other scientific theories are Gravity, Earth being round, etc.

Well, you live in your own little world. In that world, you are always right for there is no one else to tell you that you're wrong.

However, out here in the real world you are never "Always right". That would make you God, in which case you are a figment of the imagination and thus don't exist.

I'm a person who won't believe until I see for myself or get hard facts. I don't believe in ghosts or spirts and all that jazz, so I might have seen things that people might consider "paranormal", but I just probably dismissed it as something else.

To shane the ninja: Deadpool's right no one has all the right answers, so stop being stubborn and just accept the fact. Plus you sounded really selfish at your last statement too.

Haha, let's form a club.

I once had a dream, there was a bright light, and choirs... Then I woke up. If I wasn't such a white-knuckled sceptic, I'd probably think it was a message from God with the angel choirs and all that stuff.

If God wants to tell me something, he needs to be a wee bit clearer than that.

Okay, I'll take this one. If no one else is going to say it then I guess I will, cause I've had enough of this punk.

To summarize everything for you Shane, since you're more than a little slow:

1. Your definition of what is paranormal is flawed as Deadpool pointed out.

2. Unexplained mysteries does not equal paranormal. I would bring up a multitude of things with the universe that is an unexplained mystery, I would even bring up the JFK assassination, but you wouldn't know what the hell I am talking about on the account that your world consists of cell phones and Naruto and preteen skanks who laugh at you in between classes

3. Deadpool may not hate you but I am getting pretty close. Not only are your english skills the true definition of retarded, but your complete lack of intelligence and ignorance baffles me considering you are almost 20 years old. To be honest I thought you were around 14, which would make so much more sense. You must be a late bloomer or there was lead in the cups you drank out of as a child.

4. What the hell is with that signature? Young and naive but what's your excuse? Give me a break. The rest of us have no excuse because we don't need one. I could add a litany of things you are on top of young and naive. Man, I see 16 year olds, honest to God 16 year olds that are smarter, less annoying and more tolerable than you are.

And that whole "if you are a girl and I hurt you I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart"? You make me violently ill. What kind of crap is that to say? Again it doesn't sound like something a near 20 year old would say but a stupid kid who is wondering why he has fur where there was no fur before. Take your damned wishy washy and pathetic "make love not war" attitude and dive deep into a wood chipper.

Clear enough?

Reiki what?
Reiki, the best translation is "universal energy". Reiki healers manipulate their own energy to stimulate healing of the body of another through the laying on of hands.
In the practice employed by myself, my sensei and the other practitioners, we are what are known as Holistic Healers. As Holistic Healers we channel not our own energy, but God's energy, using our body as a focal device. It is believed by some that this is the method employed by Jesus when he healed the sick.

I personally find that amazing. Does that belong to a specific religion? Because I've never even heard of this, but I'm extremely interested.

Back to the topic of this thread though ^^; I went to one of the most haunted places in the United States (Gettysburg) and It was really late at night and I was with my family with my digital camera, walking past a haunted orphanage. The woman who used to be in charge abused the children and literally tortured them. So the spirits are said to still be in the house. I took a picture of the house, which has a row of four windows just below the roof. One of the windows were open, and the others were all shut. I took a picture to see if I could get anything, but nothing showed up, so I took another around 30 seconds later. I saw something weird in the open window, and I zoomed in and it's a grey, little girl's face. I'm like, "HOLY CRAP!!!" and I'm freaking out. I go back to the first picture and see the face isn't there, and the building is a museum, so nobody lives in it. I tried putting them on my computer but then the face didn't show up.

I never really believed in ghosts...untill I had just reached the tops of the stairs and I saw a girl walk out my open bedroom door and through a wall. It seriously freaked me out because she was solid looking not transparent like everyone says they should be. It was my first ghost and I sadly haven't seen her again or any others!:( Ghosts are cool!

I've seen the X-Files several times. Does that count?
I've also lurked on 7chan's /x/ a great deal. (/x/ being the Paranormal section) I've read many stories from many links over the years revovling around Cryptozoology, Paranormal Activity, Demonology, Extraterestrial Encounters, The Occult, Witchcraft, and Many other things you would find bizzare and out there that many not be out there at all. I've never actually experienced any of the above activities personally that I couldn't debunk as nothing...Well...Except Criss Angel...I'm still trying to figure out what the Hell he is.

I woke up once and saw 2 little elves in my room and they had sharp teeth. They looked so creepy. I thought I was dreaming so I pinched myself and looked back but I still saw them. They started laughing and I got freaked out so I started praying under the covers. I looked back and they were still in the room. My dad came in my room to open the blinds and I ran out. I told him and he thinks I'm crazy, but I know what I saw.

In an effort to breed a new generation of white knuckled skeptics, here are some articles describing common causes of "paranormal" experiences:

Suggestion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suggestion).
Delusion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delusion).
False awakening (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_awakening) (Assassin, read especially the description of "Type 2").
Hallucination (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination).
Psychosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosis).
Drugs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychedelics%2C_dissociatives_and_deliriants).

This article also provides some insights: Hallucinations in the sane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucinations_in_the_sane) (see "apparitional experiences" and "sense of presence"), more tips are the articles on pareidolia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia) and critical thinking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_thinking).

I've had a few odd experiences with spirits. I was six when I went through my first one. It was two years after my grandfather died, and I was lying in my bed, turned to the side and he was just...there. I was creeped out. Then he came back to visit me about..eight years later, but I didn't see him. I only smelt cigarette smoke, and felt a hand on my back.

I also tend to hear footsteps in my room, and always when I take a picture of myself (or if I'm in it) all those white orbs are around me.

ver been one to believe in things that can't be proven. However, the way I see it, ghosts haven't been disproved, so even though I'm very doughtfull about it, I would say that there is a possibility that they may exest. Although, unless I see one for myself and talk to every expert on this matter and none of them can fined a rational solution, I'm going to say that they don't exest.

Anyway, there is one strange thing that has been happening in my house lately. Red markes have been appearing in my house for what seems to be no reason. You see, there was a red mark on the floor once. We cleaned it and then forgot about it, thinking that it was just my parent's friend's baby with a red sharp or marker. Well, a few days latter, a nother red mark. It was close to were the other one was. Again, we earsed it and came up with the same conclusion. And again, a nother red line appeared. We did the same thing, even though I new that it bodering everyone. Then again, a nother red line peared. I think its still there right now. Anyway, the creep part is that they seem to be leading upstairs because they get closer to the stairs ever time. Personally though, I don't think much of it. To me, its possible that our friends baby could be doing this, so, with a rational explanation, I just let it go.

I've learned time and time again that there are more things in Heaven and Earth then are dreamt of in society's philosophy. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. To say it's bullcrap because science cannot prove it does ignores the overall ignorance in the level of technology we have now.

My experience with it has shown that while it does not heal the body directly, it helps heal the person mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, thus indirectly leading to the healing of the physical body.
