That crazy little godless wizard. What acts of vile corruption will he do next?

According to one angry mother, our little devil in disguise is now responsible for encouraging students to commit school shootings!

"Mallory said books that promote evil - as she claims the Potter ones do - help foster the kind of culture where school shootings happen."

Silly Mallory, Books are SOOOOO Yesterday. Now days we place our misguided blame on VIDEO games, not books. Get with the times.

Haha good one masali. Leave it to a house wife to come up with these crazy crackpot theories of blamming highschool shootings on an innocent book. A good old times.

Harry Potter is an amazing little story that promotes both Wicca and schoolshooting, which have soooo much to do with each other, without mentioning either even once in the entire series. Remember J.K. Rowling wants all your children to burn in an eternal inferno, because that makes perfect sense!

Oh please. Harry Potter is so not a book about witchcraft, therefore can't cause school shootings. Rather, I'd blame The Crucible by Arthur Miller, a play about the Salem witch trials. "Real" witchcraft is much more logical to blame than fake wizardry.

omg ofcourse! it's so obvious! harry potter is to blame ^^ i'll sleep better at night now that i can blame him :p
honeslty, it's idiots like her that are to blame. she clearly dosnt accept others or their relegious beliefs'.

what happened to the good old days of blaming drugs, alcohol, peer pressure and abusive parents?

do you think she had a bad experiance as a kid on halloween when 'maby' a kid dressed as a witch stole her candy? ^_^

These infuriated house wives should be happy children are actually reading books, I know many of the children I babysat never read anything until after they started the harrypotter series.

And don't these housewives see that Harry Potter is obviously fighting the evil villians? I mean, honestly...that's pretty much one of the entire themes.

I'm not suprised. I blame Harry Potter for most things. If I'm late for work, missed a deadline, forgot to feed the cats, I blame Harry. Who elses fault could it be?

can you believe someone agreed with that crackhead mother?

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Mrs Mallory; these books incite violence. I made sure my own children were safe by removing all broomsticks from the house.

This is a serious matter everyone! It's true... harry potter promotes drugs and violence like remember reading that ron and harry starting growing shrooms in the room of requirement? OR NO WAIT!! the time hermione went to class with her emo clothes on and took out a revolver and shot that old hag, maconaggle!!
*sigh* books these days....

I don't understand how that could happen. Schoolshootings and Harry Potter...How is that supposed to mix? =( Harry Potter is a really good book. Its a wonderful fantasy of wizardy. Not real, of course. I do believe J.K Rowling is a great author, full of imagination. I don't think it was her intention to influence kids into schoolshooting...

It also promotes underage sexual activities! in the 4th book, Hermionie gave harry a peck on the cheek. Someone notify the friggen authorities.

Finally! Someone else believes that Harry Potter is the epitomy of all evil! Next we shall target the Wiggles! You have to believe that those darn Australians dancing with pirates and dinosaurs are fostering ideas of carnage in our young childrens minds!

Honestly though, this is ridiculous. Not only do we get censored television, censored movies, and censored video games, but now books? Are american's going to be banned from all forms of entertainment? It's like flippin Big Brother here. I'm moving to England. Or Japan. Or Australia. Or something. >=(

Yeah.

Maybe when a teenager walks into school, and kills 3 teachers and 14 classmates with a burst of Avanda Kedavra spells I'll blame Harry Potter for violence, but until then I'm blaming parents.

Quick! Get the censor bar over that! My child may actually learn about kisses some day! Nooo!

Good stuff Masali.

Geez... what is entertainment nowadays but at least some small hint of violence? I mean, there aren't too many things out there to use as plot advancers for such books.

Oh, wait a minute! >.>!

Harry could challenge Voldemort to a game of Go Fish, and if he wins Voldemort will go away and make a new life!

.... -.-'

Come'on, If Potter's violence is screwing up society, then let's face it "It's already screwed up" if you know what I mean. We cannot eliminate all violence, it's impossible.

I'm so glad we blame Harry Potter; it's so much easier to do that than to blame the person who actually did the crime.

People will use anything as a scapegoat to try to avoid putting the blame on either 1)bad parenting, and 2) the culprit.

oooo interesting words Ami-sama! Honestly, if harry potter ignites inspiration to shoot people then my dad is a chocolate frog!!!
