Favorite Magic Girl Series

I've seen only about 15 magic girl series so I really don't know crap about this genre. Anyway tell me so I can get a view on what people like and what they don't. K?

My favorite series of this genre is Cardcaptor Sakura!

You know, I'm not the type who wants to watch the magical girl shows for some reason. Though Cardcapter Sakura was a really good one. Too bad they always mess it up on anime. Can't give the ones who animate it too hard of a time though, they do try (just try harder animators!)

Yes, I know it's probably not as fitting to this genre as Sailor Moon, but c'mon! Girls with powers, right? I'm sure they did a parody of Magical Girl series.. >>;

Nanoha, Undoubtably the best Mahou Shojo to date. Nanoha and Nanoha A's just blew off Mai-Otome out of my favorites list after I finished both series.

Reason #1: There are no long Henshin sequences in Nanoha. Most Henshin are speeded up to keep realism up.

Reason #2: Revolutionary Fighting scenes. During the first series, Nanoha boasts Shounen-level fight scenes and choreography that trumps even some Shounen series. Spells were not one-hit and used in a strategic manner. During the Second season, the Velka-Type way is introduced in which cartridges/magazines are introduced to power-up magic. New modes like Fate's Zanber form and Nanoha's Excellion mode were weapons you'd hardly think a Mahou Shojou would own. All in all, Nanoha was groundbreaking, innovation-wise.

Reason #3: Nanoha had one of the darker stories for a Mahou Shojo anime. It did not focus on collecting or saving. It focused on the development of Nanoha and Fate through their struggles as enemies(season 1) and as friends (season 2). In Nanoha, no one is absolutely right nor absolutely wrong.


All in all, Nanoha just breaks away from Mahou Shojo mediocrity and re-creates this genre.That's why I have to say that this anime is the best of its kind. Even non-Mahou Shojo fans appreciate it n_n.

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. It used to be Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon but.....KKJ's just better in all ways. ^^;

As for a magical girl anime that was the most well-done, Princess Tutu wins, hands down.;)

Carcsptor Sakura is probably the best but I just started watching the first few eps of Sugar Sugar Rune and I found it really cool! I'm not usually a fan of this genre but I have to make allowances with those two.^_^:rolleyes:

Well, since most people love Sailor Moon, I would suggest Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. It's about a sixteen-year-old girl named Maron who transforms into Jeanne. Jeanne is actually a hero of the olden days, and since Maron is the reincarnation of Jeanne, she can transform into Jeanne. In the series, demons possess objects, and a person comes along and gets tranced by the object, becoming greedy, mean, and selfish, only carrying about that object. Maron's goal is to "steal" these objects and making the demon escape it, allowing the person possesed by the object to be free from its grasp. But how could Maron even get to the object when the police is always after her and Kaitou Sinbad, her rival, gets there before her? It's a story of romance, betrayal, and believing in yourself. I would highly suggest it.

I would also recommend Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora. It's a very complicated and short anime, but in the end it's worth watching. It's not a magical girl anime, but it's still very good. It's too complicated to explain so you should just watch it! It's a tale of true love and so much more.

Sailor Moon would be mine hands down. Card Captor Sakura is alright, I didn't really get into that one much. And Tokyo Mew Mew would be a good one as well. The manga version of course not the television show, personaly the television show was just not well done.

Sailor Moon. Definately. I loved watching it when I was little every weekday morning. I would have to fight my brother for the TV. I always won. You could never see me missing an episode on TV unless something important came up.

I watched the Japanese version of it last year, I liked it a hell of a lot more. XD I also got to see the last season. Her voice was really squeaky in it but it was so much better then the deepest voice of the century with the scariest laugh. :D

Ok, that is a hard decition, because i love all the animes from the magical girl gengre, Sailor Moon, was, is and will be the beat anime for all the time, Magical Doremi still it, but we have much like Card Captor Sakura, TMM, but exist a lot of magical anime
