Shiny Pokemon

In my LeafGreen Version I just started a new game and I decided I wanted to get a shiny charmander. I saved in front of the pokeball that had charmander in it and have tried many times. Does anyone have any Idea how many hours I should exspect to be resseting? Can the starters even be shiny? Thanks in advance.:)

at least a week or two..Trust me, Im the pokemon master. If I can walk on water and jump region borders when im not supposed to, i can do ANYTHING.

The chances of getting a shiny starter are VERY low, but you can still do it. There is no time where you can expect to get it, either. It can either be your first try, or take you weeks upon weeks, even months, of reseting to get a shiny.

You're better off not bothering. I caught a shiny Golbat about two weeks ago. It doesn't change anything about the poke'mon except it's color. Not sure if it had any effect on Poke'mon contests.

I thought you can't get any shiny pokemon on the old version only on gold and the newer version...o_O....anyway I caught mine only by luck....it was the worse pokemon though....a dumb ratata or however you spell it..=_=....you can try it...maybe for 200 hours of playing like me...>_>...yea I like pokemon a LOT last time....

I caught the Red Gyrados on silver. Does that count? And i glitch my silver version once. Using a screwy link cable, I fought a yellow butterfree that knew horn drill O_O;

A red one doesn;t class as being anything special, I have 3 [my brothers gave them me :)] Shiny pokémon though... Just get a cheat thing for your gameboy, it's easier.

I used to play alot, but now it got boring, But it is possible to get every single pokemon shiney without a gameshark or a codebreaker, But all you need is time, because it gets really boring after that.

I used to play it until I realized that the whole concept of Pokemon is one of the most retarded things ever. I did have a shiny, but that was years ago, and it did take me weeks to get.

i tried getting one of the starter pokemon as a shiny but then i got bored so i quit. The only shiny pokemon i have is a shiny green pelipper and a green Vileploom
