As to what I know, Uzumaki, Naruto's Surname is the one that means Spiral. It can also mean as whirlpool and can also refer to the Japanese horror manga and movie of the same name.
Naruto can mean "maelstrom", and is also the name for a sliced stick of Kamaboko with a pink whirlpool design in the middle which is used as a topping for Ramen.
You can find out advance info of the Naruto episodes,Character Bio,Jutsu List,Types of Jutsus,Meanings of characters name in this site:

It is the most helpful site I've seen so far.

You watch Iron Chef?
You know I really think the Iron Chef French is the best he hasn't lost yet, don't you?
But the Iron Chef Japanese has lost many times!
But your right, Naruto is a kind of topping used mainly on soups.

I think naruto means Fishcakes. In my CDs, when Naruto had a fight with Gaara, Sasuke called him like that. "Fishcakes". Do you know when Naruto eats Ramen, there is a snack with white flower-like shape with red spiral in it? It was a fishcakes!
